  We loved staying at the Great Escape. It was a cozy place to play games, watch Christmas movies, eat lots of food and play in all of the snow. It was a white Christmas we will never forget. It was wonderful to relax in the hot tub at night. The game room was a fun place for the kids and grownups to hang out in. We were so thankful that we were able to get there after record snowfalls in the area and power outages. (the power was restored right before we arrived) It was the perfect place for our family to gather.

  Decided to take adult children and grandkid on getaway spend time together. Weather was fantastic cabin was very much to everyones liking very homey.

  The pictures honestly don't do it justice. There is more room than it seems there would be, so we all were really comfortable. The kitchen was good sized and very clean. Everything was super comfortable and the one shower wasn't really an issue for 12 of us, the hot water heater is pretty large. The game room with the sleeper sofa is truly a 3rd private room. The sofa wasn't super comfortable, but we put an air mattress on top and it was just fine. Would definitely rent this house again! We attended Oktoberfest both days we stayed and the shuttle was super easy to book and came right out to the house.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.

  There were 12 of us so we really appreciated having enough room, and the game room over the garage was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub but were disappointed that there was a burning ban as we would have loved to have a bonfire. This would be a great place in the winter also.

  We were pleasantly surprised at how big and spacious the home was. It had a great lounge area, game room and plenty of rooms/beds to sleep 10 people no problem. The hot tub was warm and ready to go when we got there. The cabin and grounds were clean and squared away. The cabin came with the linens and pillows, cooking utensils, pots/pans, plates, glasses, everything we needed. It was like we never left home! We came in late at night and it was pretty easy to find. Highly recommend this place. Leavenworth is only 15 minutes away by car. Thanks for allowing us to have a wonderful time.

  Our family (6 adults and 5 children) enjoyed our stay. The location is far enough from town for solitude but close enough to enjoy the sights. The cabin is rustic, I will echo previous sentiments of the loft bedrooms not being private and the stairs being steep. We ate most of our meals at the cabin, the kitchen and dining rooms provided ample space for our group. We enjoyed the movies that were available and DVD’s we had brought. We had to schedule our showers with only one full size bathroom, there is an additional toilet in the laundry room which is very spacious and handy to have with our group of kids. The hot tub, BBQ, and fire pit were also nice to use. The kids loved the game room and the adults enjoyed the quiet time it gave us. As former residents of the area we spent time with extended family and visited many locations. The Fish Hatchery in Leavenworth, a free self-guided tour, pack a lunch there are picnic tables. Shopping, dining, and water tubing in Leavenworth are always great! Icicle Ridge Winery tasting room in Leavenworth and the Winery in Peshastin is well worth the time. If you’d like to venture even further Rocky Reach Dam in Wenatchee has a fish ladder viewing area and museum that is free, pack a lunch there are beautiful gardens, picnic tables, and playground toys for the kids to play on. Even further is a Water Park at Lake Chelan.

  A group of us girls stayed at the house and really enjoyed our time there. The place is perfect for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city - it's out in the middle of nowhere! The river was too high, so we were unable to go swimming at the beach; however we didn't have trouble finding the private area where we were granted access as a tenant of the house. The game room was a nice addition. There are two refrigerators - one in the kitchen, one in the game room. The beds are pretty much all in one area, so it wouldn't be great for a bunch of couples looking for privacy. It was perfect for us though. Some of the beds could use updating, but overall a comfortable place. The hot tub worked great. There were a few downfalls, but please don't take that as a reason not to stay. It really is a great place. 1) Only one shower 2) The grill needed a lot of elbow grease to clean it up 3) No fire wood - definitely bring some with you if you plan to have a fire 4) 20 miles from Leavenworth - we used a shuttle service to get us there and back so we didn't have to worry about driving - totally worth it!

  I had a wondervul time in this cabin. Very spacious beautiful location. Close to leavenworth and the pass.

  The house had everything as advertised, however it could use some updates. There were 7 adults and a 3month old baby. The hot tub was not hot upon our arrival and we had to call someone to fix it. Quite a bummer to wait over 12 hours for it to heat up again after a day in the snow. The repair guy said "yeah, this happens alot- not sure why." The stairs leading up to the loft/upstairs are DANGEROUS and appear to be homemade. Not even sure if they are legal- we actually had to repair them while we were there. Yes, upstairs there are many beds, however, you must walk through each room to get to the next room... no privacy if that matters to you. A few of the small kitchen appliances were broken. Many light bulbs burnt out in the whole house. Shower drain needed draino. The hot water tank is only 40 gallons- not much when everyone tried to shower to get ready for dinner. The house was clean, beds fairly comfortable, wood stove kept the place hot, watching the snow fall out the window was nice. We cross country skied right out the door. We always love going to Leavenworth- over 1/2 hour away. We emailed the owner to let her know about the issues- specifically the hot tub, and she just said sorry.
