They say there is one special spot on each island that captures the spirit, beauty, and charm of old Hawaii; a place that tugs at your heartstrings and keeps you forever bound to these sun-drenched islands. We have found that special spot for you - "THE BEACH HOUSE ON HILO BAY." Come experience a completely laid-back feeling at this casual, Hawaiian-style home located on Hilo Bay.
As you step back in time and through the entrance of this beachfront home, you will be welcomed by the Akua, guardian of the house. Immediately you will begin to feel the ease and comfort this home has to offer. Step inside the front door to find a wonderful great room complimented with rare Hawaiian woods. Here is where you will also enjoy cooking in the fully-appointed, gourmet kitchen.
The living room area offers a very casual and comfortable setting with TV, DVD player, and stereo for your use. The dining room seats you and your friends for a wonderful dining experience while enjoying the 180-degree view from every window throughout the room.
"THE BEACH HOUSE ON HILO BAY" lets you experience a true old Hawaiian way of living. The master bedroom suite has a king-size bed with an antique feel that is touched with Hawaiiana. Located in this suite is the master bathroom which is tiled in rich muted colors and has a large walk-in shower. In the second bedroom you will find a lovely queen-size bed along with Hawaiian made furniture in local Koa wood including special Hawaiian touches. Just outside this bedroom is the second bathroom decorated with calming touches and a walk-in shower.
The large den, located in the rear of the home, gives you more room to spread out. In this room's cozy setting you will find two full-size futon sofas for extra guests along with TV, DVD player, and computer with high-speed internet access to enjoy day and night. Extra futons are available as well.
Hilo Bay will then beckon you outside to the tropical backyard where the view of the bay will mesmerize you. Add the sight of Mauna Kea in the background and you will surely feel Pele's presence around you. The backyard lanai has everything for entertaining, dining, and star-gazing. During the day you can soak up the sun on the sandy yard and then take a swim or kayak in the calm waters of the bay. You will notice you have your "own" white sand beach. You may also want to catch a nap or read your favorite book while resting in the hammock which swings gently from the coconut palms. After your swim, get ready for a Polynesian favorite - an outdoor shower - where you will still be able to see the sights of the bay. A powder room is located here for convenience.
At the end of your stay, you will not want to leave this Hawaiian-style home. But when that time comes, you will be completely satisfied and will hold the memories of what old Hawaii must have been like.
