One-bedroom, one-bath, oceanfront/beachfront condominium at the beautiful Sand Dollar Resort. This unit can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children 12 and under. Living room, dining room, separate bedroom with cable TV (not all units have a TV in the bedroom), breakfast bar, fully-equipped kitchen, and screened in porch. Sleeps four privately. Unit A15 is a ground floor end unit in the building closest to the dive shop, yet is the unit that is farthest away in the building so you don't hear the hustle and bustle of the dive shop, pier and restaurant right next door. You truly get the best of both worlds: being very close to the dive shop and pier, yet still having the quietness and privacy you want. A very large unit of 850 square feet with ocean view. I have a high number of repeat renters, as you can see from the comments and I will always try to accommodate you and make your vacation special.

This is a newly remodeled unit that has been painted throughout, the bathroom and kitchen renovated with new tiling and the upholstery and curtains have been newly replaced with a complete tropical flair, all done in 2006. The water heater was replaced this year so that you don't EVER run out of hot water and you don't have to reset the heater. The dishwasher is a brand new stainless steel unit.


Superb diving and snorkeling just footsteps from your condominium. Bonaire Dive & Adventure and Fisheye Photo are on site and will handle all of your needs from equipment rental, instruction, boat dives and shore diving. There is also a kids program with activities Monday through Friday. Restaurants, pool, convenient store, ice cream shop, wireless internet access and cell phone rentals, tennis courts and grills are all on site.


Sand Dollar is located approximately 1.5 miles from town and takes about 20 minutes to walk there.

This is a wonderful resort and unit with privacy, yet has the convenience of being close to everything and has a real feeling and comfort as a home-away-from-home.

Sand Dollar's house reef, Bari Reef, is ranked number one in the Caribbean's top ten sites for variety of fish species. The island of Bonaire was just designated by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as having the most pristine coral reefs in the Caribbean.

  • Our 3rd trip to Bonire & first at the Sand Dollar--but not our last. Renting from Tara via email was a pleasure and she goes the extra mile to give names, suggestions & help of any kind. Her condo A15 surpassed our expectations. Ground level with a screen porch and the water visable from that & the living room--perfect. The decorating was upbeat and the furniture comfortable--especially the bed. The kitchen was more than well stocked with appliances and cooking tools and the air conditioners worked great. So did the breezes running from the front door to the screened porch, which by the way was an extra bonus that not all of the condos had. The safe was large enough for all of my camera equip. and the daily maid service was consistantly good as was the main office and service staff. I took diving lessons on site, had my underwater camera questions answered by the on site photo store and made use of the 2 restaurants and pool on site. The snorkeling was unbelievable & I got to see fish I'd never seen before as well as 2 octopi, several kinds of eels, turtles, spotted drums and more. My first day diving I saw a sea horse & over the next couple of dives saw turtles, crabs, a large school of parrot fish, angel fish, puffers and many more things including gorgeous colorful coral. This was an ideal vacation in no small part because of A15 and its location to the water, pool & restaurants and the way its kept in tip top shape. Tara's condo is how all rental vacation units should be-comfortable, great location and trouble free.

  • We have been travelling a lot in different Caribbean islands , Unit A-15 is by far the best hotel room we have ever stayed. Not only it's spacious, very clean and well maintained , you could tell from all the nice little details that the owner has tried every effort to make sure the guests would have a nice stay there. Unlike most ordinary resort or hotel room with standard or " boring " decor , A-15 has character which reminded us we were in Caribbean. The stay was just relaxed and comfortable. The water and so as the dive shop are just steps away from A-15. The Bari reef located right off the hotel is great for both diving and snorkeling. We saw Octopus, huge eagle ray , sea turtle and a few spotted eel there. The staff at the dive shop ( Bonaire Dive Adventure) are very friendly. Insteading of dragging all the wet dive equipment into the room, we could park our truck close enough to the porch to unload all the gear and let them dry there . What a bonus for its convenient location! As for the amenities, the water pressure of the shower was excellent, air condition worked great. The owner, Tara, is very responsive, friendly and informative. She emailed us information about the island , like driving directions to the grocery stores, restaurant recommendation, etc. She treasures the guests' comments for improvement. If you are going to Bonaire, stop looking around and just book your stay at A-15. We had a wonderful time there and we would be back again.

  • Tara was absolutely delightful helping us even before we got to Bonarie and Tara's condo was everything previous guests have mentioned and more. This was our 5th trip to Bonaire, but the first time we stayed in Tara's condo. We will only consider Tara's condo for future trips. It is beautifully decorated, clean, cool and comfortable. It truly was a home away from home. It is also so convenient to the dive shop, restaurants, a gym and downtown. The pool was very refreshing and nice. Wish we already had a trip planned to go back!!! I highly recommend Tara's place!

  • We stayed in Unit A15 the last week in April 2009. This was our 8th or 9th trip to Bonaire, but our first at Sand Dollar. Our experience was a pleasure from the start. The owner was gracious, honest and very helpful. The lease agreement was straight forward and uncomplicated. Best of all, when we arrived at 5:15 AM on Sunday, the guard had our room keys ready, so we were in the unit in minutes. We LOVED this apartment! We immediately felt at home. Despite our careful reading of the unit description, the apartment seemed larger than we expected. There were plenty of closets and drawers for all of our clothes. The dining and living room area was spacious. Fran loved the screened-in porch, where she could read. Best of all, the shower in the bathroom was one of the better ones on the island! Our dealing with Sand Dollar also went perfectly. We had a small problem with one of the AC units and Sand Dollar had the problem fixed within an hour. Housekeeping was perfect and we had all the fluffy towels we requested. Another plus is the location of this unit. It is on the first floor, close to a parking area and a small commercial development were we purchased internet service (worked in the room), ice cream and even some very good wine - how convenient! It is a short 3 minute walk from the dive shop and dock. Bottom line - we plan to stay there again. We loved it.

  • Dates: March 3-13th 2009: This was our first trip to Bonaire and our first experience of putting our own package together. Tara set the bar pretty high for future ventures. She was more than accommodating by insuring all our questions were answered and her desire for the guests to have a positive experience was greatly appreciated... The unit itself was everything that was expected, tastefully decorated and very welcoming. We spent 10 days at the unit cooking all our meals on premises with exception of one day. The screened porch was a bonus as it allowed us to leave the rear unit windows open in order to allow the trade winds to blow through the unit and the screen kept the bugs out. We enjoyed our trip and staying in Unit A15. We would not only recommend it, but plan to rent it in our future dive trips to Bonaire... Pete & Barbara, Acme Michigan

  • We had a warm and wonderful week in Bonaire and at the Sand Dollar condo owned by Tara. It was very well-equipped, clean and quiet. Location of condo is convenient to the dive shop, beach and restaurant/pool Had the grandchildren with us, and they loved every minute of their stay on the island with plenty to do. Recommend the Donkey Sanctuary and the Butterfly House as points of interest.

    VRBO won't allow anyone to leave a comment if they have already. I am adding this comment at the request of a repeat renter.... This was our 4th year renting from Tara. The unit continues to be well maintained and spotlessly clean. We enjoy having all the comforts of home- two TV’s with satellite, a well-equipped kitchen and lovely Caribbean decorating. Our dive gear is easily stored in the screened-in porch. The porch is also a nice place to have breakfast and begin the day. The unit is close enough to the Bari Reef to walk with your gear. Bari Reef is great for both diving and snorkeling. We plan to rent again.

    Bonaire Bound Snorklers Pennsylvania. Date Submitted: February 28, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009 My husband and I planned on celebrating his 50th birthday on Bonaire without the kids and were looking forward to renting Tara's beautiful condo. When our family vacation plans for the summer 2009 did not go as planned my husband decided that we would bring our 2 teenagers along to Bonaire so to make a long story short we were not able to rent Tara's condo as planned. Tara was more than helpful in trying to locate another condo to rent at the SandDollar and supplied us with a lot of information and advice on Bonaire. She is true to her word and refunded our deposit check. I already know that when my husband and I return to Bonaire we will be renting from Tara.

  • Got back from Bonaire and Tara's lovely condo a week ago. We had a wonderful time and the condo was perfect. When I first rented it I wondered how I would feel about all the bright colors -- I tend toward using pastels in my own living spaces. Once there, I loved it! The bright colors really enhanced the Caribbean feeling and her place was so comfortable. As a fellow vacation condo owner with a condo in Maui, I really appreciated the effort that Tara makes to personalize her condo and to make her guests feel at home. She provides a wealth of information on local restaurants and dive sites right inside the condo. There is also a small library of books for surface intervals (between dives). Divers will appreciate the hooks for drying off gear (even though the dive shop has a very good gear storage facility) and drying rack for swimsuits. The screened in Lanai was really a big deal for us as we were there during the rainy season and mosquitos, which are normally few and far between, were a bit of a problem. We could really use the patio and didn't have to worry about closing the sliding door to the living room all the time to keep bugs out. It was all so easy. We can hardly wait to come back.   • This was our first trip to Bonaire and we loved it. We stayed at Sand Dollar unit A-15 for a week in December. Tara was very accomodating and communicating with her to rent her unit was wonderful. When we go to Bonaire next time, we will deffinetely contact her to rent the A-15 unit again. Our stay was very good and we felt very comfortable in the unit. The owners did the wonderful job decorating their unit and it creates relaxing and cheerful atmosphere. The unit has everything that is needed for guests to be comfortable in there. I can not think what else the owners could add there. I felt there was everything we needed to have a great vacation and feel relaxed. Air-conditioners work quitely, kitchen is equipped with stuff needed to prepare meals. The sceened patio is a great bonus that we appreciated a lot. We noticed that some units don't have screens and we felt that we were lucky that Tara's unit has one. Also location of A-15 unit in the complex is very good. I hope the unit will be available for our next trip!
