There are two villas/townhouses (Casa Familiar & Casa Vecina) in this structure/duplex to be rented separately. Each are upscale, 2700 square foot, four bedroom townhomes. The properties are situated directly on the beach and feature a wealth of amenities. Walk off the large patios, each with a private swimming pool and onto the beach. On the first floor of both townhouses is: bedroom #1 (queen canopy bed and a daybed with twin trundle bed-2 twin beds or can be converted into king bed) and bath. Fully-equipped kitchen, living and dining room (table seats 12) with full entertainment system and, 1/2 bath.
On the 2nd floor of Casa Familiar is: master bedroom (bdrm #2) with a king bed, bath & balcony; bedroom # 3 with full bed, twin bunk beds and twin trundle bed & bath; bedroom#4 with queen canopy bed & bath; laundry with washer & dryer, game room with balcony overlooking the beach. All bedrooms have adjoining full baths. Property is private and gated. Bring your laptop; high speed internet is provided.
Casa Vecina differs in beds from Casa Familiar as it has a full bed & twin bed in bedroom #3. A sleeper couch (queen size) is located in the 2nd floor game room to accommodate 2 more persons.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes

During Thanksgiving week, 1999, my husband & I loaded up our Suburban with our 9 children and drove for the first time to a beach directly straight south of Kansas City...arriving in South Padre Island 17 hrs. later. After vacationing in Marco Island, FL, the previous year, we found that SPI was much more family friendly. We all fell in love with it. So much so, that we figured out how we could purchase a beach house making time at the beach a regular family event. We were able to find a rundown townhouse, which sat directly on the beach and had been on the market for over a yr. We negotiated a great price, renovated it ourselves, named it Casa Familiar, and began renting to help with our costs. Since then, we've been renting to some wonderful families for as many as 8 years in a row and others who have stayed several times.
Now that our children are beginning to marry and we have our first grandchild, we've expanded by purchasing Casa Vecina which adjoins Casa Familiar. Thanks to the financial support of our guests, we're able to maintain and update the house making it a comfortable and family friendly place for everyone to enjoy.

The Unique Benefits at this Villa

There's nothing like real beachfront living...unfortunately, many property owners claim beachfront but are located across the street or even blocks away. The end of our patio is the seawall to the beach. We can prepare lunch in the kitchen while watching the kids play on the beach and we're within shouting distance when they need to come home.

Presently, I'm a therapist/psychiatric nurse practitioner and clinical instructor at a state school of nursing. However, when we purchased Casa Familiar, I was a stay at home mom with 9 children, 2 with special needs and i or 2 foster children. Managing a rental business was a great way to stay at home and work. Technology has made working from anyplace possible. With my Droid phone, I can answer emails while on vacation or during one of our kid's tennis matches.
Working in our rental business has given me the opportunity to meet many wonderful people to whom I'd never have access and the hours are incredibly flexible.

My family and I stayed here last Summer. It was a perfect vacation and lived up to every description and picture! There were 5 adults and 4 children and we were all very comfortable and had lots of room to enjoy. The kitchen was well equipped, and the large dining table made meal time very nice. The private pool was just perfect. And the immediate access to the beach was very convenient. We hope to stay here many more times and appreciate the owners hospitality. I would highly recommend this home. You will not be sorry!

Perfect for a full family getaway!

My family stayed at Casa Vecina this May and had a wonderful time. The home was perfectly appointed and we managed to fit our mish-mash of extended families all into this one townhouse without bumping elbows. It's very spacious with plenty of places to get some privacy or hang out together. Also, it was very, very clean and had everything we didn’t have room to pack. The pool isn't huge, but it's the perfect size if you have young children; not so small you can't swim around, not so big you have to worry all the time. The best part has to be the beachfront access! Waking up every morning to the sun coming up over the water just outside your vacation rental has to be the best part of any trip to South Padre! The section of the beach where this rental is located is also rather quiet. My family usually can’t agree on anything, but we all agree that we’re going back to Casa Vecina.

This house is truly one of the nicest vacation homes I have ever rented. It was everything it was advertised as being. Access to the beach was just a few steps away and if you don't feel like walking a few steps, there is the nice pool to sit by. The furnishings were nice and very comfortable. Trish was more than responsive to all of my emails and questions. My advice - if you want to spend a few days or a week or two this is the place to do it!

Amazing!

My fiance and I felt that this home is an absolute must if you intend on fully enjoying your stay in SPI! The beauty of the home itself was amazing and the view was breath-taking in regard to both sunrise and sunset on the water. This property is also located fairly close to many excellent restaurants and activities, however, a vehicle would be a good idea being that most of the dining is on the other side of the island. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and I fully intend on making a return trip in the future.

Charming and Relaxing!

My family and I stayed at this beautiful beach house in May. We had a wonderful time! Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us, but this spacious home allowed us to gather inside and enjoy ourselves just as much! The bedrooms are all exactly as pictured. Each room is unique and oh soooo comfortable! The beds are excellent. The living room and kitchen area is very spacious so it's great for large families. The pool is so cute and looks amazing at night with the color-changing effects. The owners are very nice wonderful people. We will definately be back in the future!!!

BEAUTIFUL RELAXING WEEKEND

The house was found as described on the site. South Padre Island and the beaches were super clean. The neighborhood itself was very clean and well maintained. The sunrises and sunsets every day were just beautiful--and were viewed directly from the patios! The house is perfect for large groups---some were upstairs in the game room, a couple downstairs watching football and another in the bedroom wrtting a novel. The manager Kathie, was easy to reach and called once just to see how things were going and offer her services if we needed them. The owner, Patricia was very nice and dependable in responding to e-mails...etc...If you want the WONDERFUL experience of STAYING ON THE BEACH in a beautiful beach home this is the house for you...you won' tbe dissapointed...We definitely plan to return---for a longer stay!

This is one of the nicest vacation home in which we've stayed.We rented directly from the owners; who are very nice people. The home was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. It is situated directly on the best part of South Padre Island Beach away from the big hotels; yet conveniently located 5 minutes from everyting. This place lacks nothing. We will definitely try to return.

We stayed at this house a few years ago. We absolutly loved it. Game room was great for gathering. The best part was you could step off of the brick on the patio into the sand.

Patricia, My wife and I would like to tell you what a wonderful time we had at your beautiful house on South Padre.
