We are four women who often spoke of ourselves as the "White Hairs" on our trip. Everyone then knew who we were. We had a wonderful stay in this apartment which started with our airport pickup. Just what we needed after our long flight. No struggle to wrestle luggage; no trying to read a map and translate it to what we were seeing; no arguments over which way to turn. Just a quick ride "home." Paolo was a wonderful host, anticipating many questions and remaining easily accessible throughout our stay. The apartment was very spacious for our needs. We often sat at the kitchen table or in our living room talking about the experiences of our day or our plans for tomorrow. The beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. The kitchen had what we needed including a washing machine. We had "walked" the neighborhood via Google and so were aware of how our "house" looked outside and in its neighborhood.surroundings We found our parish church (San Clemente) as well as our Colosseum neighbor. We made friends with the merchants next door, appreciating their help also. Of a "certain vintage" we used the tiny elevator by twos, although occasionally we walked up or down the several flights. We really missed it the one time it was being repaired. Grazie, Paolo, for being such a fine host.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear Sue, Kathleen, Mary Patricia and Vivian, thank you very much for your kind words and your great review! I am so happy that I had the opportunity to meet all of you in person. It was also my pleasure to answer all your questions and offer you any kind of small assistance. I and my mother Rosa love what we do and when visitors are satisfied with the apartment and the city we are very enthusiastic! We do our best but I have to admit that Rome with its monuments, atmosphere, views, fountains, museums and people helps us a lot in doing our job! I hope to meet you again in the future... so I can just say "ARRIVEDERCI"! Paolo&Rosa

We were only in Rome for 3 days and this apartment had a 5 day minimum but Paolo was kind enough to suggest a similar apartment he had in the same building for a short term rental at a very favorable rate that worked perfectly for a party of 6 (3 adults & 3 teenagers). The building is only 4 blocks from the Colosseum and 4 blocks from the Rome metro so it was very easy to get to the major tourist sites. We found the metro very easy to use (can operate the ticket machines in English) and traveled across Rome to The Vatican with ease for only 1 euro/passenger each way. Paolo greeted us and took time to explain the neigborhood including maps to favorite restaurants and grocery store. He also arranged for a taxi from the airport and to the train station when we left on the next leg of our journey to Florence. He showed us where we could find a travel agent who handled the train tickets and saved us time and money. There is a book in the apartment with everything you need to know if you forget Paolo recommendations. There is also a small bakery and cafe on the grond floor that makes an easy way to start the day. Paolo could not have been more accomodating and helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Dear Doug, I was happy to find you an alternative accommodation in the same building (I have 4 apartments there!). I am also glad that you enjoyed Rome, the apartment and the...bakery! You and your family are so kind so it would be very nice to have the opportunity to have you as my guests soon hopefully for a full week! Please let everyone know about me! Ciao da Roma!

We, as a family rendevous in Rome, one coming from California and the rest from Maryland, and Paolo arranged all our limo pick up. He greeted us and made our apartment homey. Paolo also made the arrangements for our friends from Massachusetts to be near us. The rest of our stay was just wonderful! Needless to say that Paolo was instrumental to making our stay in Rome a care-free and effortless! He was very attentive and flexible to accommodating our needs. As to the location of the house, it was really a good choice, it was strategic and close to many sites and yet we have a quiet place to rest at the end of the day. We stayed for nine days so we appreciated having the kitchen. It can use newer knives, kitchen utensils, pots and pans for people who plan to cook. But other than that, we had a fabulous stay! Grazie Mille Paolo for all the work you put in to making our Roman Holiday memorable and wonderful!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Ciao Peter and Gemma, thank you very much for taking a minute to write down a comment. It was a great pleasure to meet you and your family and Elizabeth. I'm so happy that you had a great time in Rome and that you felt as at home while staying at my apartment! I hope to meet you again and to have the opportunity to have a glass of wine together! Ciao! Paolo

The apartment was well-heated, wifi connected and comfortable. It is away from the street, so fairly quiet. Being 3 blocks from the Colosseum was remarkable! Transportation was easy; our host, Paolo was very responsive and dependable. He met all our needs promptly and very well. Warning to Americans, the hot water is there, but its temperature tends to fluctuate during a shower. The kitchen is equipped to handle 4-6 people for dinner. In the evenings, the aroma of baked panettone wafts in the windows - very pleasant!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

Paulo was very personable and helpful from emails, to phone calls and finally to face to face meeting. The place was beautiful! High ceilings, very spacious, walking distance to the Colosseum and Hop On Hop Off bus stop. Elevator was great for my dad who walks with a cane. Wifi was easy to connect and high speed. Zero complaints and high recommendations from Canada!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

We had a wonderful month in Rome. What an extravagance. The apartment was everything we could have wanted and better. The property was clean, well maintained and we explored much of Rome from the excellent transport (train, tram, busses and foot). We had two teenage children (12 and 18) and they had a wonderful time also. It is a friendly place and close to an excellent butcher, shops and places to visit. Paolo is a wonderful host. Plan to return soon!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear Pina and Bill, thank you very much for a such nice words. It is really kind of you to take a few minutes to put a review on VRBO. I am happy that you and your family still keep good memories of your vacation in Rome and of your stay at my apartment. Everybody still speaks about you and all say that you are a very nice family: the doorman Luis, Stefano from the tobacco shop, my mother and Pio (the guy who helps us). I hope to have the opportunity to have you as my guests soon and hopefully we can have the time to have a Pizza or Spaghetti together! Ciao from Paolo, mother Rosa and Pio
