We loved our stay in this apartment! Everything was exactly as billed. As a bit of a nervous traveler, Jim and his entire team made everything seamless and easy. Our concierge kept us at ease and took care of everything we needed. He met us promptly at the apartment and arranged our transportation as well-which I also highly recommend. The apartment is in a terrific location. Metro is nearby and walkable to everywhere. The best part is that you truly experience life in a real Parisian neighborhood. The apartment itself was great-clean and very nice. We will definitely stay with Jim, Marc, and the entire Our Home in Paris team again. First class all the way....

My wife and I enjoyed a long weekend in Paris and the St. Paul apartment was the perfect home base for exploring. We walked as far as Montmarte and the Eiffel Tower as well as exploring the Marais and Latin Quarter returning each night to a comfortable bed and cozy accomodations. Also, the conceirge service was very helpful. We provided Marc a list of preferred restaurants and he was able to secure a reservation at our top choices for Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights. Merci beacoup!

I had stayed in another larger apartment of Jim's several years ago and loved it, but wanted something more intimate for this latest trip with my husband. The studio apartment was perfect! Great location, clean, warm and every comfort of home. We had a fabulous time - the restaurant recommendations were spot on. We took advantage of the chauffeur services both directions, which was very helpful. Many, many thanks to Jim and the team for a wonderful holiday experience! We will return very soon.

Clean, quiet, comfortable apartment. Great location above an excellent bakery in a fabulous neighborhood. Mathias, the concierge, was very helpful getting us oriented. You do have to walk up two flights but that was not an inconvenience for us. Would love to stay there longer!

Thank you for offering an immaculate, charming, and beautifully furnished apt in a convenient location(the Marais district) to the sights in Paris. It was our first trip to Paris and Mathias, the concierge, was very helpful in orienting us to the city as well helping us with restaurant reservations, teaching us about the metro and buses, and helping us with everything. Merci to the owner who has created such a special apt in a wonderful location in Paris.Thank you for making my 60th birthday, a special experience, here. We look forward to booking St Paul apt, again. Happy visitors, Carol & Michael

We have rented this apartment several times. The location is perfect - within a short walk to several metro stations and tourist-centric bus lines. We loved being able to walk to the market at the Bastille and buy fresh local fish and produce. The apartment is exceptionally comfortable and attractive, with many thoughtful touches such as a washer/dryer, free wifi and plenty of storage. If you are adventurous, we recommend trying the Velib bicycle system, which has a station a block from the apartment. It's a fun and inexpensive way to tour Paris, but you need to be OK with navigating around buses, cars, scooters and other bicyclists. Jim and his team provide excellent customer service. E-mails are answered quickly and they go out of their way to ensure that you have a great experience. We can't wait to return.

Hello Dottie, We thoroughly enjoyed your St Paul Studio. It worked perfectly for my wife and I. We have already forwarded pictures and comments to our friends who are searching for places to stay in Paris in the next year. We recommended the apartment without hesitation. We found it completely clean and well cared for. Everything was well explained by both Mathias and your book of explanations. Mathias was invaluable. The idea of a concierge is a wonderful plus and was greatly appreciated. He met us at the apartment, and explained everything and answered all of our questions. We stayed in contact almost daily by email and he promptly responded to any questions or comments that we had. Before arriving in Paris we came from renting a house on Lake Como for a week. A concierge would have been invaluable at this property and made us appreciate Mathias all the more. If we had to find one complaint, it would be that the units in this building are definitely not non-smoking. Smoke from the other apartments rose into our studio constantly. A minor inconvenience for us since we were gone most of the day and afternoon, however this would have been a major problem if we had our daughter with us as her asthma definitely could not have endured this. Not only do you have an excellent apartment, but the Marais area couldn’t be beat for the diversity of shops, eating and proximity to sights. We also fell in love with the Rue Cler area and understand that you also have an apartment in that area. We would look into that as well for our next visit.
Owner response:We appreciate yet another wonderful review, and for the comments about our concierge Mathias. In addition, I wanted to respond to your comment about the smokers nearby - good news here: French Law has changed and smoking is not permitted in restaurants or common spaces of apartment buildings, so this is no longer an issue! Jim

Don't let the term "studio" fool you. This charming apartment is incredibly well laid out with all the comforts of home. You'll feel as if you are living life like a real Parisian. It is wonderfully quiet so you can get a good night's sleep after a day of adventuring. The apartment is fantastic, but the attentive service and attention to every detail from Jim and Marc beginning with the very first communication are what will give you the real comfort knowing that your vacation is in good hands. I'd suggest following their every recommendation, including hiring the driver from and to the airport, to make your vacation as seamless as our recent week in Paris. We'll definitely stay in the St. Paul Studio again on our next trip.

We had an amazing time and loved returning to our Studio after many days of walking all over Paris. We had everything we needed and more. The kitchen and bath were perfect and the bed rested our weary bodies after long days. The apt is so quiet that we slept until 9am many days. The village had so many treats in the way of shops, food and sights that we spent our last day lazing in the neighborhood. The proximity to Ile St. Louis, the Metro, foodshops and major sights, was another bonus. A place we want to return to, in a location that can't be beat.

My husband and I stayed in the St. Paul studio for 5 nights and had the most wonderful time! The apartment is located in a great location with wonderful restaurants, bakeries (Miss Manon!), and cafes. Notre Dame and St. Chapelle are just a 10 minute walk away, with the Seine being less than 5 minutes away! We especially appreciated how quiet the studio was so we could sleep in! The kitchen is more than adequate and the bathroom is so luxurious. Marc, our concerige, was extremely helpful-especially when we needed tickets printed for a concert we booked. Jim, Rick, and Marc have thought of every detail to make sure we had a wonderful stay. We can't wait to go back! Thanks to everyone at Our Home in Paris for a superb Paris getaway!

The room was very clean - so clean that my wife felt like taking a bath (which says a lot, trust me). It is the perfect size for two people who want to share a bed and is within walking distance to the center of Paris, numerous coffee shops, restaurants, and bakeries. The room was quiet and all of the amenities such as the microwave and washing machine were very nice. The concierge was also very helpful. I would definitely choose this room again when I return to Paris.

My wife and I stayed at Studio St. Pual for 5 days in June. The apartment was very comfortable and wonderfully furnished (even more warm and cozy than the description and pictures suggest). It made a terrific home base for exploring Paris. Our days began with fresh pastries from one of the several bakeries just a short walk away. A number of top attractions and destinations (the Seine, Notre Dame, Louvre, La Bastille, Musee D'Orsay) were easily within walking distance. For locations further away (Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe), a Metro station was just around the corner. Wandering through Le Marais was an absolute delight with its numerous bakeries, cafes, shops, and restaurants. Our concierge, Mathias, was extremely helpful, suggesting restaurants, destinations and strategies for making best use of our short time in Paris. Even though our French left something to be desired, Parisians appreciated our attempt. We highly recommend staying at Studio St. Paul. We can't wait to return!

I would highly recommend this apartment for any couple visiting Paris. The apartment had everything necessary for a comfortable stay, and was so much nicer than a hotel. I have stayed in many hotels in Europe, and the apartment was the most enjoyable by far. Don't let the small square footage deter you from staying here...all hotel rooms are tiny in Paris, and the apartment layout makes it seem larger than it is. The location was superb - lots of restaurants, Monoprix just down the road, very near the Seine, and just a short walk to two Metro stops on two different lines...very convenient. The washer/dryer was the best - just press a button before bed and wake up to fresh, dry clothes! We were never "missing" anything...the apartment is very well-stocked with appliances, comfort items, and supplies. We will absolutely stay at this apartment when we return to Paris. We give it our highest recommendation.

We had an outstanding stay in this apartment - it couldn't have have been more convenient. Close to the Metro, great restaurants for dinner within an easy walk, charming patisseries downstairs and around the corner - everything we wanted was immediately available. Jim made planning effortless, and the concierge service secured reservations for dinner with only an email. The apartment itself had everything we needed: flawless wi-fi, a washer/dryer (!) and full kitchen. It was quiet and spotless. We can't wait to return.

A perfect studio with a great location! We were met at the apt by Marc, our concierge for our stay. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and offered to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. In addition, there was a great feature in the apt. A 3-ring binder with information on appliances and their use as well as restaurants in the neighborhood and who spoke English at the different spots. It was very helpful and having everything so organized was very comforting! The apt has a very nicely updated kitchen and bathroom and is very comfortable for any length of stay. We were so pleased with everything that we will only find Jim's apts on our next Paris visit!

It was a great apartment! The car service at the airport was prompt. It was a treat. Our arrival was effortless with Mathias meeting us at the apartment to let us in and show us around. He was very helpful and available throughout our stay. The apartment was spotless and very nicely decorated. The kitchen had all of the essentials. Great bathroom with a washer/dryer. We didn't hear a noise the whole time we were there - very quiet. The location is ideal. You have an easy walk to the Seine, Notre Dame, and the Louvre. There is a metro stop just around the corner from the apartment which was fantastic. We used an iphone app to navigate the subway system which was effortless. There were alot of cool shops and restaurants just in the neighborhood around the apartment. We didn't spend much time in the apartment since we were enjoying Paris, but it is an oasis to rest after all of the excitement of the city. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip very soon.

My wife and I rented Studio St.Paul for two weeks in October. We liked almost everything about this apartment. It's attractive and well equipped especially for a rental apartment. The location is excellent with ready access to a number of metro lines. The neighborhood is great for food shopping and restaurants. It is lively and safe, but the apartment, which is on a couryard, is very quiet. It is great having an apartment as opposed to a hotel room. With several excellent bakeries within a two blocks, we always had breakfast in the apartment, and if we were in the area at mid-day, bought sandwiches for lunch. We were also able to have wine and cheese before going to an evening concert. We rented a different apartment a few years earlier, but studio St. Paul was definitely superior. We'll be back.

The St Paul Studio was the perfect place to call "home" during a recent vacation in Paris. The apartment completely lives up to the photos and description here, so there were no surprises. It was a great place to kick back and relax at the end of each busy day. I hadn't stayed in this area of Paris before and was happy to find that within very easy walking distance there were 3 Metro stops, a supermarket, and a variety of great restaurants. Jim and his team were extremely gracious hosts, helping with everything from a walk-through of the apartment and its features, to restaurant recommendations, directions, even luggage storage. I'll be recommending this apartment to my friends.

The St. Paul studio apartment was absolutely perfect for our week-long stay in Paris. It is a gorgeous place, that is quite comfortable for two. The lighting and decor were very thoughtfully planned, and it felt cozy yet elegant. The tub and shower combo and bathroom decor were also very nice, something you would never find in a hotel in this price range in Europe. The arrangement with the nearby hotel is extremely convenient for guests as well, and their staff were courteous and very helpful. I also highly recommend taking advantage of the driver service; it made our arrival SO smooth! The location was a dream, just a couple of blocks in either direction from the Seine and the metro respectively. Quiet yet lively neighborhood, excellent bakeries just down the block for morning pastries and cafe au lait. I will definitely return to one of Jim's apartments when we visit Paris again!

Just returned from a week staying in this lovely apartment. Location is PERFECT! I truly can't think of a better location for exploring. There is a great bakery downstairs and you are just 1/2 a block off a main street with all the small, independent cheese, wine, vegetable shops that make Paris truly unique. Metro is only a couple of block up the street. The apartment itself has everything you need and having a concierge service was a nice benefit that most private apartments don't offer. Highly recommended!

This is our second time staying at Studio St. Paul and we had a wonderful time again. Jim is attentive to details and has provided many thoughtful touches in the studio. Jean Michel and Aymen took very good care of us. We used the car service several times and it was great. Jean Michel and Aymen were waiting for us upon our arrival, which made getting from the airport and train station to the studio stress free. They are both very friendly and good humored. We contacted the hotel several times to get assistance with dinner reservations and they were quite responsive. The studio is in a great location and has much appreciated amenities such as free internet access, washing machine/dryer and kitchen with dishwasher. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment is well laid out with more storage than you might think. Thanks again to Jim and the staff at Hotel Saint-Louis Bastille for an excellent stay. I conduct international seminars in Atlanta. Often times these seminars take place around 12 to 15 days. My clients need a place that has the luxury of a hotel but the convenience and atmosphere of a home. This year I tried placing people in one of the units available in Mayfair Hotel through 'Our home in Atlanta' . The guests could make use of the concierge services, the library, all other aminities. The units are in top condition; viewing the labels and the bathrobes, the cleanliness and hygiene, the top quality of furniture and interior, you would think you are at the Ritz. Needless to say, my clients were surprised and impressed, especially because it was a few minutes away from the seminar location in W Hotel and Marta and cabs. This is THE solution for travellers, either business or pleasure. Five stars to you, Jim. Sonia.

Great place! A very short walk from the St. Paul metro station on the busy Rue de Rivoli, on the backbone line of the metro system, just two stops from the major Chatelet transfer station; walking distance to Notre Dame, the Pompidou, etc. In the interesting Village St. Paul neighborhood, on a wonderfully quiet street. The studio apartment is very convenient, comfortable and beautifully kept. The French half of the ownership, Mr. Tournu, and the lady at the hotel associated with the apartment, Manuella, couldn't have been more helpful. Everything in the apartment worked well, including the elevator (occasionally needed two or three pushes on the buttons, but ALWAYS worked). This place would be terrific if it were a tiny hotel room in such a good location what with the air conditioning and elevator, but for such a spacious studio - it's way beyond terrific. Far and away the best place we've ever stayed in six trips to Paris. And if you're French fruit tart lovers like us, nearby on the Rue de Rivoli there's one of the Paul chain of Patisseries as well as an excellent independent. Finally, if you're crazy for duck, either the main Brasserie Bofinger (an old institution) or the Petit Bofinger offshoot shouldn't be missed. The two restaurants, accross the street from one another near the Bastille (short walk from the apartment), make duck in two different - but very classical - styles, but both dishes are great and reasonably priced. Of course, we ate both. These restaurants are NOT "inventive", and we're certain that the really chic crowd wouldn't be caught dead in them, but if they're tourist traps then we were ecstatic to be trapped in them. Forgot to mention - also close is a Monoprix department store, where you can buy cereal, fruit, etc. for breakfast and other groceries if you're making other meals. Summing up - great apartment, great location, convenient neighborhood, wonderful people.

There was a mix up with our apartment the day we arrived, but once Jim and Jean-Michel heard about it, it was taken care of very quickly. After that, once we settled into the Rue St Paul apartment, we truly enjoyed out time there. It's an amazing location, 3 minutes (I timed it) walk to the St Paul Metro station! Every kind of shop you would need (groceries, bakery, etc) is between you and the station. Even though it is only one street off Rue St Antoine, it's amazingly peaceful and surprisingly quiet. Be warned, if you have a hard time resisting the smells of a bakery, don't open the window!! My brother met us in Paris with our Mother and Aunt, and they stayed in the Hôtel de Vendôme. A very luxurious 4 star hotel close to the Ritz hotel. Once he saw our apartment, he realized that his money would have been WAY better spent taking an apartment like ours. He commented that for what he paid for one night in the Hotel, he could stay five nights in the apartment, and the apartment would have been better! We were already recommending the apartment to friends before we even got to Paris, and our stay there only reinforces our feeling. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Our stay at your 26 Rue St. Paul apartment was simply wonderful and Paris was wonderful! We were thrilled with the apartment and the Marais district itself. This was our first trip to France and our stay in Paris was at the end of the trip after having spent time in Brittany and Normandy. We loved the location in the Marais area of Paris which had great atmosphere and old world charm, wonderful shops and many of restaurants of all kinds. We could walk much of Paris so easily from this location and we definitely did walk a lot. We also liked the convenience of having three metro stations within a short distance. We loved walking two blocks down to the Seine and strolling across Pont Marie to Ile Saint Louis and then to Notre Dame and the Left Bank, or 15-20 minutes to walk to the Louvre. The apartment itself was great. Very quiet on the inside back courtyard, much more space than we would have found in a hotel room and with a wonderfully modern kitchen and bathroom. There was plenty of storage space which was very nice to have, and we enjoyed having the table to sit at having our croissants or quiche, fresh fruit and coffee for breakfast everyday. The boulangerie/patisserie right downstairs was very good, or there were several others just up the street. We ate some dinners in also and found the kitchen really had everything needed to prepare meals or heat up already prepared food. Actually on this trip we did not stay in hotels at all and we really enjoyed not having to eat out 3 meals a day. We liked the Red Wheelbarrow English language bookstore a few doors down and the ladies there were very helpful. I am so glad I found your apartment site on VRBO. We have decided that vacation apartments are a much better way to enjoy ourselves and get more for our money especially with the way the exchange rate is right now. We are talking of returning to Paris next year as there is so much to do and see in this wonderful city. Hopefully if we plan enough ahead, we will be able to stay in one of your apartments again. Having the connection to the Hotel Saint Lous Marais was very nice also with the assistance of Aymen and Jean-Michel. All in all we loved the experience and hope to return again soon.

A perfect getaway for two, nicely appointed, charming space. Jim, the owner, was most attentive and took extra care in responding to our last minute change of plans. The hotel staff was helpful as well. The village of St Paul is quintessential Paris! Do not miss the opportunity to stay in this lovely apartment.

I had the distinct pleasure of visiting Paris for the first time in my life in February. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to travel from the airport to my apartment utilizing the car service (Monsieur Victor) recommended by the owner. The drive was quite pleasant and even helped me with my luggage into the apartment. I was so happy to see the exquisite detail and obvious attention to high standard, I was able to relax and decompress from the arduous task of flying in from the states. The sheer historic drama that is so evidently present inside the walls of the studio got me wondering about what these walls would say if they could talk! The apartment is beautifully decorated with every attention to detail and has plenty of room for two. The washer/dryer really came in handy since I packed on the light side. The kitchen is complete with everything I needed to prepare a meal although I dined out most of my stay (a temptation that is hard to resist, given the location of studio St Paul - the very heart of the Marais where the neighborhood pulses with exquisite restaurants, shops, bakeries and markets - too many to count.) The owners recommendation to dine at Tete D'Alleurs was a good one and Bobar was a fun place to grab a drink and a meal in a very hip spot. My favorite dining experience was breakfast at Cafe Francais in front of the Bastille - like sitting in a famous impressionist painting of a busy Parisian cafe. The prime location of the studio is a definite plus, metro is a quick walk down the street and put me in touch with all of the museums and attractions this beautiful city has to offer. I was fortunate enough to get information from the concierge desk for a tour of Montmarte with easy walking access to Sacre Coeur and the famous Moulin Rouge. Each night, weary from my many sights and scenes of the gorgeous city of Paris, I was happy to open the door to my perfect home away from home.

This was our second stay at the Rue Saint Paul studio with the same results - absolutely excellent and a wonderful experience. Only minutes walk from Notre Dame, Louvre, Place de la Concorde, Arch de Triomphe, Etc., and two blocks off the Seine, this location in The Marais is perfect. Do the tourist thing during the day and in a few minutes return to the little village of St. Paul with all the local inhabitants (extremely friendly) and the local restaurants, bakeries, cheese shops, butchers, etc., etc. The studio is equipped in first class fashion and in a protected courtyard next to a bakery. You wake to the smell of fresh baked bread every morning! You literally become a part of the local scene and you will love it. The quality of the fixtures, attention to detail and cleanliness is beyond reproach. This is first class at a bargain price. The care and co-operation of the close-by hotel management is nothing short of exceptional, friendly and English speaking. Can't imagine a more appropriate place for a couple to enjoy the wonders of Paris and yet be in the remarkable and quaint 4th Arrondisement. We could go on and on with the positives associated with this property. Jim and Beth (regular guests and we'll be back)!!!

The apartment was exquisite and equipt with everything we needed - especially the corkscrew. The location is private and quiet with easy access to the city by foot or metro. I felt completely safe to wander alone and explore the neighborhoods. Despite the wonderful restaurants of Paris our most memorable meal was at the apt. - a picnic during a thunderstorm. The nearby markets are a foodie's dream. Jean Michelle was amazing at helping us with impossible restaurant reservations and our transportation. He was a great resource and support.

Utterly Romantic. Perfect location. Spacious studio apartment. Interior is very chic and tastefully decorated. We visit Paris every year and this is our favourite apartment yet! Thank you to the wonderful staff at the hotel who were there whenever we needed assistance. We'll be back next year! Sincerely Lisa Hayes

Just wanted to write to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your apartment. It is in an awesome location and having the Patisserie (bakery) right below you was great! The apartment is beautiful and very well furninshed! The metro is close and having internet access was key for my husband! When we go back to Paris, we hope that it will be available because we would most definitely stay there again! Thanks so much! Kathi

The apartment at 26 Rue St. Paul is great. The staff at Hotel St. Louis Marais are very helpful in meeting your needs. The apartment is very comfortable and has plenty of room for two adults. The fact that the entrance to the apartment is next door to a pastry shop is a HUGE plus! It is great waking up in the morning to the smell of fresh baked pastries. The neighborhood has a lot to offer - great restaruants, grocery stores, specialty shops (pastry, cheese, flowers, fruits and vegetables). There are several convenient Metro stops nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning someday.

The studio apartment at 26 Rue St. Paul is a delightful, quiet retreat, decorated with understated elegance. The apartment has a charming kitchen, modern bath, and spacious main room with ample storage. The apartment’s windows overlook a courtyard, which connects to a short, pleasantly ancient, private alley-walkway that gives access to a grand old door that opens onto the Rue St. Paul.Directly adjacent to the Rue St. Paul door, is one of the best bread shops of Paris. The staff is unbelievably polite and always greet with a smile. Their shop is surrounded by boutiques, boulangeries, patisseries and cafes (all uncrowded and often unfound by most visitors to Paris).26 Rue St. Paul is perfectly situated within an easy walking distance of the most important sites of Paris. The short street of the Rue St. Paul connects the Rue de Rivoli (which runs beside the Louvre) with the Quai des Celestins (which borders the Seine and the Ile Saint-Louis). The Bastille monument is just around the corner. It is one of many local focal points of evening activity with its modern Opera Bastille and a metro station from which you can easily connect to all of Paris and its suburbs (including Versailles via the Pont du Sevres).

We looked at several charming boutique hotels before concluding that having our place to stay was the best way to experience Paris. This studio was an ideal combination of location, charm, ammenities, and ambience. The decorator got everything just right, giving the space a warm and classic feel. A great find!
