In the winter, the Loon Mountain Ski Area offers both downhill and cross country ski trails, just across the street with shuttle busses running frequently and ice skating and indoor rock climbing. A little further away in Franconia Notch State Park (former home of the famous Old Man of the Mountain) is the Cannon Mountain ski Area.
