Year Purchased: 1964
Zelie Duvauchelle grew up in this home, moving in with her grandparents as soon as it was finished. She lived here until, as an adult, she was called to move to the mainland, always returning for frequent visits and returning to live for periods of time. She is a musician and healer, incorporating traditional Hawaiian music and techniques with her own unique abilities.
Why the Owner Chose Pukoo
Zelie Duvauchelle's grandparents built this home after having lived just next door for many years, and chose this location for Kainehe because of the beauty of the land and ocean all around. It was designed to capture the views, as well as the steady ocean breeze.
