Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2005
We live in New Jersey, but we both love being near the water. We were very lucky to find this beautiful home on Maine's waterfront a few years ago.
Why the Owner Chose Stockton Springs
We bought this house in 2005. We love Maine - there is another beautiful water view around every bend. When I come to the house, I can totally unwind and relax. We hope to retire here some day, but in the meantime, we enjoy it when we can. We hope you find our home and Maine as pleasant as we do.
The Unique Benefits of this Waterfront Contemporary Home
Our home is in a perfect location for enjoying some of the most beautiful areas of Maine. We are located midway between the quintessential New England towns of Camden, Rockport, and Rockland, and the beauty of Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
Five minutes from the house is a lovely beach (Sandy Point Beach) that is great for swimming and kayaking (and not many people know about it).
All along Rt 1 in Searsport and Belfast, there are lots of little antique shops, cafes, used book stores, etc.

Our vacation was absolutely perfect. The weather cooperated so we were able to have breakfast on the deck almost every morning! You should be a fly on the wall so you could hear when we first entered your vacation home in Stockton Springs - WOW, WOW, WOW were our first words, from the kitchen to the view to the deck to the deck closest to the water. Clean, Clean Clean was our next observation, from the bedrooms to the bathrooms it was just wonderful. Cooking there was such a pleasure, everything we needed we could find. The location was central to our day trips from Acadia Natl Park, to Bar Harbor to the Ferry over to Vinalhaven Island for the day. Thank you we really enjoyed ourselves.

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our time in Stockton Springs at the house. We were very pleased at the location - central for exploring the north east coast of Maine and all it had to offer. We were able to get east as far as Campobello Island and spent a little time inland up towards Millinocket. The day in Bar Harbor was wet and rainy - other than that we had a week of near perfect weather. I understand Maine was having record high temperatures for that time of year. We enjoyed it anyway. We were very pleased at the set up in the Stockton Springs House, we really enjoyed cooking and dining in a few nights - the kitchen was well equiped and we found a few extra spices to use. The water view and the deck was just what we were looking for. The large sunny bed room was very restful to sleep in and we enjoyed the option to wash some clothes while we were there. The furnishings in the house were excellent.

We all had a fabulous time at your place in Maine. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, our guests just left. We all enjoyed the welcome gift of tea and cookies--Thanks! The house was perfect for us. It had absolutely everything we needed and more. The weather was great-a bit warm for Maine, but nothing like it was in NJ that week. A great time was had by all. I am sure you'll find the house in fine shape, we treated it as our own. Thanks again for the wonderful location and comforts of home.

We had a very nice time at your home, the weather was pretty good and it was very relaxing there. The river looked beautiful from the deck. The house had everything anyone staying there could need!! Having worked in Property Management for so many years I can appreciate all the effort you put into making the house just right.

We had a great time! Very comfortable & well equipped.

Unless you can arrange for a meteor shower EVERY night instead of just the Wednesday evening we were there, there's not too much I can think of to improve the house! What an amazing sight that was -- a real thrill for this urbanite who seldom sees such a night sky. Also we enjoyed the fact that the front light came on automatically in the evenings. To the screaming delight of his children, my brother-in-law would momentarily turn off the car headlights as we came down that road at night, my sister was very grateful for that porch light to guide us to the house. The house was extremely comfortable, spacious, and royally appointed. And there are not enough words to describe the beauty of Acadia National Park--a MUST SEE for any visitors to your home. Thanks for the prompt return of our deposit. Best regards to Barbara as well. Sylvia V P.S. Please feel free to add this to your Guest Comment page.

My wife and I along with our friends are currently staying at The River House. What a wonderful home you have! We appreciate everything here and all of the thoughtful amenities that you have provided. It all seems so personal. It has been simply delightful to find that everything we might need has already been thought of and is here! We have had a truly great time at your home. There is not one thing that you have not thought of in providing. We experienced our first lobster boil tonight. The pot was great to have along with everything else. Thanks for a great home. We will be returning in 2007.
