Just back from Paris where we stayed in this absolutely wonderful apartment. I've been to Paris many times, but have always stayed in a small hotel. Experiencing Paris by actually living in a city apartment, well, there is simply no comparison. And this apartment is both lovely and comfortable in every way. The location in the heart of the Marais is fantastic. You can spend your days walking to and from the many Paris sites, or jumping on the nearby Metro to get around. But it is particularly nice to start off by stepping outside to grab a baguette for a relaxing breakfast at home. There are plenty of local shops for cheese, bread, wine and fruit, and not too far away you can shop at the historic March Aligre for anything you might need for a meal. While we never cooked dinner at the apartment, having the kitchen was incredibly convenient. And the local merchants we met at the shops and bistros could not have been nicer or more helpful. The apartment has all the other amenities you might want - wifi, TV etc, as well as being meticulously clean. The bedroom is very comfortable, and the sofa bed in the living room is extremely comfortable as well. The owner was available to answer questions as needed. And our concierge met us outside the first morning, showed us everything about the apartment we needed to know, and was always available by phone or email to answer questions, provide suggestions and/or make reservations for us. This was a simply fantastic experience -I don't ever want to go back to a hotel again! While we don't get to live in Paris - thanks to the team at Our Home in Paris for this experience. I would highly recommend Beautrellis 1 for anyone looking to experience Paris in this way. It was fantastic!

It was a dream come true to be able to experience Parisian life in one of the most vibrant yet authentic areas of the city. Beautreillis 1 is neatly situated between the bustling Marais with its maze of shops, restaurants and sights to discover, historic Bastille and the beauty of the Seine. Waking in the beautiful and luxurious decor of the apartment, and beginning the day with a fresh baguette and coffee as we like it and when we liked it (no hotel 6,30 to 10,30), and then choosing what to explore - whether to wander down to either of the Metro lines and go straight to the sights and have a proper 'tourist day', or perhaps stroll to the Marais - ending up variously, finding mouth watering felafel and poppy seed cakes, the Picasso Museum, gorgeous Japanese hosiery, and unforgettable lemon meringue pie. The markets at Bastille gave us a chance to shop with the Parisians for produce to cook for ourselves in our gorgeous kitchen. The perfect finish to a busy day was to stroll home to the apartment along the banks of the Seine on a warm summer evening. We've been to Paris quite a few times now, and have stayed in youth hostels, hotels and other apartments in different arrondissements. Beautreillis 1 is the best.

Charming apartment, great neighborhood

This beautiful apartment is tastefully furnished with wonderful amenities. We enjoyed having a kitchen with state of the art appliances, and the heated bathroom floor was a treat. The apartment is on a lovely street in a wonderful neighborhood, with easy access to all kinds of shopping and food, and a pleasant walk to two different metro stations. It was a great base for exploring a magical city, and a lovely place to come "home" to. Concierge was easily accessible and attentive, making it easy to find answers and navigate a foreign culture and language. We hope to be back!

This was our second time staying in this apartment. The unit is impeccably furnished, decorated, and well maintained. The concierge service is terrific whether it be for booking a restaurant, site-seeing recommendations, or printing boarding passes. We just LOVE the location, it's within walking distance of everything you need: multiple boulangeries, a 24 hour cafe (terrific for people watching), food shopping, and countless other shops. It's convenient to two subway lines and the Bus 69 (highlighted by Rick Steve). We will definitely rebook this location when we return to Paris.

My daughter and I went to Paris this past October for her birthday. We stayed in the Beautreillis apartment. The experience was unbelievable! The apartment is beautiful! All the amenities you could ask for (our favorite thing had to be the wonderful heated floors in the bathroom... :). The location is perfect, so close to everything. The concierges are so helpful and wonderful! They really made planning the entire trip a breeze. The entire trip was completely fabulous! I could not think of a better place to stay in the beautiful city of Paris - or better people to have to help you out! Highly Recommended!!!

When I began planning a trip with my daughter, I was hesitant to stay in an apartment. Not anymore. This is THE place to stay in Paris!!! Look no further!!! Leave corporate America and your cares behind. Experience the wonderful feeling of living in a quaint neighborhood with exemplary bakeries, cafes, florists, cheese, candy,and fresh produce shops along with a lovely park. Antique stores line a quaint street only a block away. My daughter found a lovely 19th century pair of wall sconces that she will treasure forever. The Metra system is within walking distance. We figured it out on our first day and we were off! We scoured every nook and cranny of Paris we could in a week. We loved the close proximity to St. Paul and Notre Dame. Shakespeare and Company booksellers on the island of St. Paul was a delightful experience. Don't miss it! We felt very safe and pampered in this comfortable, charming, homey neighborhood apartment. The concierge and limo service was everything we could ask for. The owner of this beautiful apartment made himself available to answer any questions, as I was planning our trip. Upon recommendation of the concierge, we made use of mygenieinparis.com to schedule a trip to Monet's garden and the Palace of Versailles. We were very pleased with our experience. This elegant apartment is located in a wonderful neighborhood that has everything you need, including fabulous restaurants in close proximity. People and merchants in the neighborhood are friendly and accommodating. As our fun filled days went by we felt ourselves absolutely glowing and feeling more and more relaxed. This apartment is without a doubt, a home away from home. The bed is so comfortable, the bathroom floor so warm on your bare morning feet, the living room and kitchen so lovely and cozy. We did not want to leave and we are coming up with reasons to come back. Ahh, Paris! Is there anything better? We think not. Treat yourself and experience the Beautreillis apartment. You will be changed forever!

Read the description, view the photos, dream about it then book. You will not be disappointed. Beautreillis is perfectly located for a vacation in Paris and the apartment itself makes you feel part of the city. Explore the transport options available. The metro is great for a quick trip but you will see more of Paris on a bus and several are available at the end of the street, even more a few meters away in Bastille. Try the Batobus along the Seine at the other end of the street. Also at Place de la Bastille is the beautiful Arsenal Marina starting point for a cruise up the St-Martin's Canal to Parc de Villette. Walk back along (and above) the canal for a great Paris afternoon. Try a Saturday night cruise with the same company and see the locals enjoying a summer evening with outdoor salsa dancing on the banks of the Seine. Best of all, Beautreillis is ideal for our favorite Paris pastime. Walking. Buy a book or set of cards for DIY or take guided tours. The apartment is a great place to come home to.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at this place in late June and we highly recommend it. It's nicely furnished, very well equipped and conveniently located. There are numerous shops and restaurants within a 1 to 5 minute walk and the Metro is only 5 minutes away as well. The air conditioning (a rarity in Paris) was much appreciated. There's a "value added" feature to this rental and that's the service of a Paris "concierge" who meets you at the unit on arrival and explains all the amenities. He speaks perfect English and is most helpful. We have rented numerous places in France, Italy, and North America. This is one of the best.

As a couple in the mid-fifties, I recommend this apartment in Paris. It looked and felt very classy, and to our tastes. The location was as good as described on the web site. A concierge service is available, which we would not ordinarily utilise. On this occasion however, we were unfortunate to catch a bug and the concierge arranged medical assistance which arrived within 30 minutes. This was a huge relief, since trying to speak French when unwell is tiresome for us (but rewarding when we're well!). We arrived at Gare de Lyon and caught a taxi which we would do again. However, we made use of the private limo service to the airport at the end of the week which was well worth the small additional cost. A very quiet apartment (other than the occasional horse walking upstairs) given the central location in Marais. The apartment is up 2 flights of stairs and there is no lift - but the concierge took our cases up and down the stairs for us. Very safe area and ideal for walking to the Seine or catching the Metro. We ate twice at restaurants next door which were good, but there are also ample sources of food and wine if choosing to eat or cook in. You will be well looked after here.

Staying at this elegant apartment was one of the best experiences of my recent visit to Paris. The listing photos, although lovley don't do the apartment justice. It was filled with beautiful as well as comfortable antiques. The architechtural backdrop consited of herringbone-patterned oak floors, exquisite molding, marble mantles and a radiant heated bathroom floor. The surrounding courtyard was breathtaking.

I just returned from a 9 day stay at the apartment on Rue Beautreillis. What a wonderful introduction to the city of Paris! Well located in terms of access to the city's "top ten to sees", the apartment made it possible to visit everything planned and much more. It's location also makes it easy to become part of the daily life of Parisians...by the time we left, we had become "locals" (they knew our names and our order) at the Hugo Cafe, which is only two blocks away. Be careful though, it's also close to a wide array of wonderful shops selling everything from souvenirs to one of a kind artwork... so unless you have a padlock on your pocketbook, you could spend every Euro and give your credit card a healthy workout. If where you "live" and how you are treated are important aspects of your overall travel experience, you will be well satisfied if you book your stay here.

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Paris. We stayed at Jim Braude’s one-bedroom apartment at Rue de Beautrellis in the Marais district. It truly felt like we were at “our home in Paris” as it is advertised. The apartment is elegant, tastefully decorated, beautiful antiques, a well equipped kitchen, and it was spacious enough for three people. It was so much better than a hotel. We loved it! The location was also great. In the neighborhood we found restaurants, a big grocery store, several wonderful bakeries, chocolate stores and lots of boutique shops. We were also able to walk to two Metro stations, which made it very convenient to get everywhere. Booking the apartment was extremely easy and efficient. Jim took care of everything! He immediately sent us the confirmation, information about the apartment, instructions on all the equipment, the neighborhood, recommendations on restaurants, and transportation. All of our possible questions were answered in the detailed information he sent us. The hotel transportation service was very efficient, helpful and friendly. We highly recommend “Our Home in Paris” properties! Cannot wait to go back.

This property is even better than the photos. Except for minor things, it is perfect for a week in Paris. The location is excellent, with restaurants, museums and interesting neighborhoods within blocks. It has every convenience and is quiet and comfortable. The most impressive things, however, are the space and decor of the place--really more like a five star suite than an apartment. We would never stay anyplace else when we are in Paris.

Since we usually stay at very nice hotels when traveling, renting 17 Rue de Beautrellis was our first experience with renting an apartment. This choice was a perfect one. It is a beautiful, well appointed accommodation in a wonderful location. Were two/three blocks from two different metro locations, and close to many restaurants, cafes, patisseries, etc. Being in Le Marais district made us feel as if we were part of the Paris experience. We had the pleasure of staying in Jim Braude's one bedroom apartment in the Marais just a few days ago. It was just perfect! The location was terrific as it is on a quiet, very local street but only one block away from a main, lively street with all that a visitor needs. An ATM, patisseries, creperies, cafes, restaurants, shopping and two very convenient metro stations are all within easy walking distance. The Marais area is central to many sites in Paris so walking is easy as well. The apartment itself was more spacious than I had imagined. It was wonderful to have a kitchen to prepare simple food and keep items refrigerated. One could certainly cook entire meals in the kitchen if desired. The bath was designed well with ample counter space and a strong shower. The separate toilet room made it easier for our group (2 adults, 2 teens) to get ready at the same time. The furnishings and decorative touches were lovely. It is an elegant but very comfortable place. Jim communicated quickly and with detail to all our questions and our arrival and departure were without any problem. He provides detailed information on nearby restaurants, (don't miss a terrific, reasonably priced meal at a comfortable, friendly place nearby - Bobar!!!)transporation, use of appliances, et. Also, guests have the use of services at a nearby boutique hotel. This is comforting for those who may not have sufficient French skills. Renting this apartment was our first great decision on our wonderful trip to Paris!

We were thrilled beyond words with our experience here. Jim Braude is a warm, terrific "host", and made us feel at home from booking to checkout. The apartment exceeded our expectations in terms of its quality and attention to detail. The building is vintage Parisian, and is located on a very quiet street, but only a block away from the Metro, the River, and lots of bustle. In choosing this apartment for a stay in early November, we were first drawn to the attractive and informative website. But the enthusiastic reviews from previous renters clinched the deal. Now I find myself challenged to express our satisfaction in terms that haven't already been used. Beautifully appointed, elegant and comfortable, spacious and cozy. We will echo all the previous positive comments about this lovely apartment.... so much nicer than a hotel room, and it is located in a very desirable location. When you book this apartment,the owner provides a detailed emailed attachment that is extremely usefully; it provides recommendations for local transportation and restaurants (Tete D'alleurs right across the street was our favorite meal), as well as detailed instructions on how to operate all the appliances, air conditioning and electronics. If this property is not available, I would not hesitate to try one of Jim's other properties.

If it's possible to be a good host while being on a different continent, then Jim fits the bill. My husband and I just returned from 9 days in Paris for our 20th anniversary at the Rue Beautreillis apartment and it was everything we had hoped for and more. The apartment is wonderful...spacious with modern amenities but loaded with old world flair. It boasts 2 fireplaces, high ceilings, tall windows, decorative mouldings, antique furniture, is decorated with a real attention to detail...and in a location that cannot be beat. Having the hotel nearby with someone at the desk 24/7 in case we had a question or needed dinner reservations (our French is a bit rusty) was perfect. Jim has thought of everything...remodeled kitchen/bathrooms, umbrella, Internet, a wardrobe full of books, iPod clock radio, flat screen TV, DVD player and cable, stereo, tons of storage space, a kitchen filled with all that you need...the list goes on. Rue Beautreillis is a very quiet street, yet only a block from Rue Rivoli, a wonderful mix of eateries and shops. It is also only a five minute walk to 3 Metro stops and an easy mile from the Chatelet/Les Halles (RER) station. One of the best things about having an apartment was that each afternoon on our way home we would make 4 stops... supermarket, boulangerie, fromagerie, and boucherie. Then off we would go...bread in one hand, bags in the other back to Beautreillis for a pre-dinner snack. It was a divine way to start off every evening and it couldn't have been done in a hotel room. In addition to our nightly ritual (we added one new cheese to our cheese plate each evening), another superb thing about being on Rue Beautreillis was that we were in the heart of the Marais. Two blocks from Place des Vosges and wonderful small streets filled with shops of all kinds, walking through the Marais gives you a feeling of being in a family neighborhood, yet only a five minute walk from Notre Dame, Ile Saint Louis, and the Latin Quarter. Another nice thing about the Marais is that the shops are closed on Saturdays (it's the Jewish Quarter), and rather are open on Sundays. It is unusual to be able to stroll and shop on a Sunday because in other areas of Paris, stores are not open. Rather than fighting the crowds at the Louvre or Notre Dame on a Sunday, it is pleasant to walk in the Marais as an alternative destination. In the Marais, we also noticed

We stayed in this apartment June 1-5 2007. It is very nice and in a good location with shops, cafes, metro, whatever you need just minutes away. The hotel staff was also friendly and helpful. Their car picked us up at the airport which was a great help not to have to worry after the long flight. Our trip to Paris was wonderful and the apartment helped make the stay. We would recommend it to anyone.

We loved staying at the Louis Philippe apartment! Tons of room - so luxurious. The decor was gorgeous, and the flat had everything we needed. So quiet (due to its location in a courtyard) but in a FABULOUS neighborhood, which had great restaurants, patisseries and shops right at our fingertips. We absolutely loved it. Thank you!

I have just returned from this absolutely beautiful apartment in Paris.The location was fabulous,walking distance to the Seine,the Bastille,Place de Voges,Notre Dame and various Metro stations.Any question or need that we had was taken care of promptly with professionalism and courtesy by Cyril(Concierge) and Eddie(our driver). If you want to experience Paris as the Parisians do, This is the apartment for you. I can hardly wait to return to my new home in Paris

This apartment is a delight. Our two week stay was enhanced by being in a place that felt like home and was - at the same time - a truly authentic and charming Parisian apartment. Our stay in your lovely Paris apartment at 17 rue beautreillis far exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was warm, the interior design and decorations were elegant, the location was superb--two blocks from the edge of Village St. Paul, two blocks from the Metro, and three blocks from the Seine. This is a very quiet, well-appointed apartment in a really nice neighborhood. We stayed here for a week with our 2 daughters. The girls slept on the pull-out sofa bed (the "lit de repos" that converts into 2 single beds or 1 double) in the living room. The bed in the master bedroom is super-comfortable. The apartment can handle a family of 4 if the kids are not too tall for the lit de repos. It helps that the toilet is in a separate bathroom from the bathroom with the shower. The kitchen has everything you would need as does the rest of the apartment. The only thing you might want to bring is an alarm clock. The staff at Hotel St. Louis Marais right around the corner were very helpful and Victor the reliable chauffeur provided excellent service.

What a beautiful, convenient, and charming place to stay in a beautiful, convenient, and charming city! The apartment is very well appointed, in a lovely neighborhood that was fun to explore. This aparment is spectacular!! Starting with the concierge service, ubelievable!! THe location is great, and has easy access. The apartment is very luxurious, but comfortable and practical at the same time. The coordination of the decoration makes it even better. It has great kitchen utensils and has everything you'll need (and more) for your stay. The bed is extremely comfortable, my back never hurt!!

Having vacationed in Paris every one to three years, our latest trip was one of the most pleasant ones in memory, partly as a result of staying at this wonderful apartment. The owners took such great care in choosing just the right touches for every square foot: beautiful furnishings, art and draperies as well as all the modern conveniences you would ever need. The care and thoughtfulness evident in their design choices made it feel like a very, very nice "home," not a "rental". Staying here means so much more than a hotel stay because instead of "visiting" Paris, you really "live" in Paris for your stay. When we think back of all the things we miss about Paris, this apartment is one of them.

My wife and I recently went to Paris for the first time and stayed in the apartment at 17 Beautreillis. We found this apartment to be so elegant and comfortable! Quite soon after our arrival, "our home in Paris" became our own home in Paris. It is so convenient to street shops, cafes, restaurants, the Metro and the beautiful and interesting sights in Paris. Just wanted to let you know what a fine time my wife and I had in Paris when we stayed at your beautiful and inviting one-bedroom apartment on the Rue Beautreillis. It was both comfortable and spacious, and you had it supplied with absolutely everything we needed to make us feel right at home. Getting just the right location in Paris was important to us, and we couldn’t have done better. There was a cozy “neighborhood” feel, yet we were conveniently situated to both the Marais and the Bastille, as well as several metro stations. We definitely want to stay here again when we return to Paris for our next vacation. And I’ve already recommended the apartment to a couple of our friends. Merci encore!

Thank you for helping to make our 15th anniversary so special. We experienced Paris like real Parisians as we made this beautifully appointed apartment our home for a week. We did not want for a single comfort or modern convenience. The location was ideal. The Marais’ many interesting shops and great restaurants were an easy walk away. Amazing patisseries and boulangeries were literally just around the corner; we ate fresh croissant and pain chocolat every morning! The closeness of the Metro stations enabled us to go anywhere we wanted in a very short time. We loved being so close to the Seine and took many late-night walks along the river after our long, leisurely dinners. Jean-Michel and Cyril at the nearby Hotel Saint Louis Marais were very helpful. We’ve recommended your apartment to several close friends and are already planning our next visit. We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else!

After one week of travel and 5 different hotels we arrived at "our home in Paris". We were so happy! The apartment is large, beautifully furnished with antiques, lovely pictures on the wall, and a very comfortable bed. There are nice dishes with plenty of kitchen equipment for preparation of meals when you can no longer face another restaurant and a convenient clothes washer/dryer. The area is great with lots of boulangeries, cafes, and shops and very close to interesting sites and museums. Oh yes, it is an easy walk to Berthillon for the world's best ice cream. We had our son stay with us for a few nights and the livingroom pull out bed was perfect. We will definitly be back. Merci beaucoup, Jim.

What a wonderful treat to stay in a true Paris apartment. It was a wonderful experience to for once feel like you are part of the city that you are visiting. I have traveled to Paris over 20 times but this visit was the highlight of my trips there. The warm welcome and relaxing athopshere made my trip one of my all time travel experences. This apartment, as well as the whole Paris experience, was as wonderful as we could ever have possibly hoped. Situated in an urban/residential neighborhood in the Marais district, the apartment itself was in a quaint and safe feeling courtyard with an easy two story walkup (no elevator). The Bastille plaza is about a five minute walk and is loaded with sidewalk cafes, restaurants and bars for entertainment and people watching. There is also a very convenient Metro station there at the Bastille that we used multiple times a day. Place des Vosges is quite close (5-10 mins walk)and has a lovely park and great shopping. The Picasso museum is in that area as well. Several fantastic pastry shops within a few blocks for breakfast (which we usually brought back to the apartment). A very nice restaurant, La Tete Ailleurs, is literally across the street. Notre Dame is about a 20 minute walk down the Seine, quite easy and scenic. The apartment itself is very tastefully done with a comfortable sitting room and dining table with a TV and computer WiFi access available. (Our 3 children were able to sleep there with the pullout sofa and a rollaway!) The master bedroom was very comfortable with windows that opened out into the enclosed courtyard. Kitchen is long and narrow but complete and well equipped. Had some trouble figuring out the French washing machine but the housekeeper was very gracious in helping us with this. There is a shower/tub/sink (but no toilet) at one end of the apartment and a powder room at the other end of the hall. Again, very well done. The manager of the property is stationed at the Hotel just down the street to the left, was always very accomodating and pleasant in helping navigate the area. We would stay here again in a hearbeat, perhaps not with the three kids next time! For that, there is a terrific two bedroom apartment three blocks away, owned and managed by the same people, where our parents stayed. That was perfect as well! Overall, a great and fairly authentic way to see Paris as the Parisians do.
