  I stayed in this gem of a home with my parents, my husband, my brother, and son. It is beautiful, light-filled, airy, homey, well-appointed, and just an overall wonderful setting for a special get-together. We all enjoyed the gardens, the views and sunsets from the deck. And the super close proximity to 101 as well as to downtown Sausalito and to San Francisco can't be beat. The owner was gracious and we will return to this cozy home-away-from home during our next visit.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

  I hate to write bad reviews, but in this case I have to make an exception. The owner totally misrepresented the boat, it's cleanliness and most importantly the ability for us and our dogs to come and go. When we attempted to address these issues, his response was that he was just trying to make money and hung up on us. He also threatened legal action if we tried to contact him for any reason.   Owner response: The renter agreed to rent my beautiful completely remodeled 70 ft yacht for 44 days. I turned several other guests away as it was rented. He never mentioned he had dogs ever. His dogs one very old lab and one younger did not like the boat. Now he says I misrepresented the yacht and it is dirty? I have offered a refund upon reselling the yacht for the days remaining. The boat is very clean spacious and comfortable. I am very sorry his dogs did not like the yacht.

  I stayed in this house for two weeks in May 2010, and it quickly became my home. The layout of the house is fantastic, with every room's windows overlooking all the beauty that surrounds this house. The views of the bay from the upstairs deck, the kitchen and the dining room are nothing short of amazing. The upstairs bedrooms are both very nice with lots of great pillows and blankets to keep you warm on chilly nights. The bathroom is wonderful, and the half bath just off the kitchen is perfect when entertaining or hanging out downstairs. The meticulously maintained gardens are exquisite, and the outdoor lighting at night is very helpful when coming home from a wonderful dinner. The stairs just off the side of the house leading down to a perfect walk to town are very handy and challenging (175 steps!). The laundry room on the ground level of this house was also very convenient. The owner is wonderful- he even had a wireless network installed just for me since I needed to work from here. The proximity to town, the grocery store, restaurants, and the 101 freeway is fantastic. About an hour's drive to Napa, just one exit away from the Marin Headlands, and about 15-20 minutes away from Muir Woods. Perfect location, and perfect place to relax and rejuvinate. I am sad to leave, but I know I will return to this lovely home someday. Definitely a great place for a couple or even an individual looking for some peace and quiet in a beautiful location.

  My husband and I rented Gerry's home for ten days in May when we were in SF for our daughters wedding. It is very cute, and cozy and the photographs on this site do not do it justice ... the living room has some very comfy chairs and sofa and large TV that are not shown. The master bed was very comfortable and the room is decorated better than the photo shows. There is also a cute smaller second bedroom with a comfortable queen bed. The house sleeps four comfortably but there is only one bathroom which is upstairs off the landing with the two bedrooms. The kitchen is quite well equipped and we cooked several delicious meals there. The only concern would be the stairs ... If you have trouble with stairs this is not the place for you because there is a flight of quite steep wooden steps from the parking pad to the front door ... and one of our guests learned the hard way that they get slick when wet. The stairway to the bedrooms is also narrow and steep. We personally did not have a problem with either but we are reasonably fit and were cautious. We loved the location which was close to the freeway for easy access. The house itself is located on a very steep hill which winds down to the cute town of Sausalito. As a total experience we loved it and would consider renting this house again in a heartbeat.
