Furnished & decorated to maximize your comfort, every modern convenience is provided to make your stay carefree.
With an atmosphere that is welcoming, friendly & fun loving - the layout of the house is perfect for families or groups, large or small. The Great Room/Dining Room & Rec Room are large enough for all to be together to talk, play games & relax.
The large Dining Room adjoins the Great Room, continuing the open feeling of the house. All can sit down together, even 25. The table easily seats 10, while the Bar between the Dining Room & Kitchen seats 5. Extra seating for 12 is available with folding tables & chairs, easily placed in open areas between the Dining Room & Great Room. There's plenty of space.
Open to the Dining and Great Rooms, the cook(s) will still be part of the party in the kitchen, well stocked with a variety of glasses, dishes, & serving pieces, plus pots/pans, bake ware & small kitchen appliances found in most homes. In addition, wet bars in the Great room & Rec room offer access to food and drink throughout the house. There is, also, an extra Refrigerator in the garage to help with overflow for a big crowd.
Stay in touch with the world, even work, at the large kitchen desk with high-speed internet access, or connect wirelessly throughout the house, even on the deck. If needed, there is a professional business center available less than 5 minutes away.
Unlimited fun awaits with a pool table (in the loft), poker table (in the Rec Rm), and an extensive selection of games from Chess to Backgammon with old standards like Clue, Monopoly, Scrabble, and more. With three main living areas, different activities easily coexist. Or, move the fun outside & bubble away in the 2 HOT TUBS.
Laurel Cove is very large & can sleep up to 25, with 15 in actual beds, plus 10 on 5 sleep sofas. There are 5 large suites (4 Kings & 1 Queen) with TVs, DVD players and private baths (2 with whirlpool tubs) offering privacy & quiet retreats to get some alone time. The sixth bedroom has a Queen Bed and a Triple Bunk Bed (Double on the bottom/Single on top). It works well for kids or adults. The house is, also, equipped for babies or toddlers, with both a crib & porta-crib, high chair, booster seat, and safety gates for your use.
The King suite on the main level is ideal for those who have trouble with stairs. The 2 upper King Suites, also, have queen sleep sofas - perfect for families with kids, or groups who don't mind sharing a room. There is, also, a Queen sleep sofa in the Great Room. Completing the sleeping arrangements, the huge sectional in the Rec room has a Queen sleep sofa along with a double one.
Be sure to click on the link to the 'INTER-ACTIVE FLOORPLAN' below. Viewing it will allow you to really put yourself into the house, giving you a good feeling for the interior lay-out, as well as the exterior, decks, hot tubs, lakefront and surrounding area.
'Laurel Cove' is located in the Central Lake area, convenient to everything. Parks, restaurants, shopping, and theaters are easily accessible within five minutes. It is almost equidistant between Oakland & McHenry, both less than 10 minutes away & both offering different shopping & dining experiences.
There is a lot to see & do, within a short distance from the house, including normal resort type activities like horse back riding, go carts, & putt-putt golf. In addition, 5 close-by State Parks offer hiking trails with breath taking scenery, including Maryland's highest mountains, largest lake & tallest waterfall.
'Wisp Ski Resort' (10 minutes away) offers activities year round, but some depend on the season & are only available at certain times of the year. The 'Adventure Sports Center' with white water rafting, the 'Squirrel Cage' zip wire, Lodestone (the Hale Irwin 18 hole golf course) are open from April-September. Also, close to Wisp is the 'Fork Run' recreation area, offering rock climbing (lessons available) and ATV or mountain biking trails, all weather dependent.
Of course, without going anywhere, at 'Laurel Cove' the whole Lake is at your back door. From Mid-April to Mid-October, a boat slip is yours to use for boating, fishing & every type of water sport. In warm weather, a sandbox for little ones is provided on the beach & all will enjoy swimming in the Lake.
Other than Winter, the extensive two-level decking is furnished for sunbathing, grilling, and outdoor dining. An outdoor sectional, along with other casual chairs & chaises on the lower deck enhance conversation while enjoying a beautiful view of the Lake.
For winter fun, at 'Laurel Cove' a frozen lake awaits for snowmobiling or ice fishing. Ten minutes away, Wisp offers skiing, snowboarding, tubing, a ''Mountain Coaster'' and more. Many state parks offer cross country skiing, along with snowmobiling trails. For the unusual & unique, try dog-sledding, going for a horse-drawn sleigh ride or seeing a frozen waterfall.
Whether ready for a relaxing getaway, a party, a family reunion, a Church or corporate retreat - Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall - at 'Laurel Cove' you'll enjoy them all.
(Your dogs - limit two - are welcome).

I want to thank Nancy for the best Christmas ever. My family and I spent the Christmas Holiday in this fabulous, well kept home. The pictures online does this house no justice; it is an unbelievable beautiful home. The house was equipped with everything one might possible need while on vacation. We were a party of 16 including the children and had more than enough room for privacy as well as socializing. We had a great time and the children enjoyed themselves so much so that on Christmas day we had to remind them to open their presents. This was truly an unforgettable Christmas celebration. Everyone on the trip is still thanking us and Nancy for a memorable Christmas. Our children now have lasting special memories they can pass along to their children; the true meaning of Christmas; unconditional love, sharing and special moments with family, and friends; not the hoopla of commercialism. The associates at the realtor company were nice, accommodating and truly helpful. Wisp Resort about 7 minutes away from the home was a great place to spend Christmas day with their many activities. Thanks again Nancy and all blessings to you and your family.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.

We had a family reunion over Thanksgiving and had a fantastic time. The house is large and beautifully layed out! The main area on the 1st floor is open and easily accomodated 17 of us. The living room on the lower level was wonderful and provided an additional area for games.(Catch Phrase was the game of choice this vacation.) The kitchen is a delight, and there are ample number of plates, silverware, pans, serving dishes, etc. for a large group. The view of the lake is magnificent. We took a few hikes at the State Park just minutes away by car.(We had no problem jumping in our car.) Thank you, Nancy, for letting us stay at your house for a special family vacation so close to Pittsburgh.Recommended for: People with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We just returned from a week stay at this property. We were a group of 15 family members celebrating a 70th birthday and a 50th wedding anniversary. Let me start by saying that the home itself is stunning and very appropriateatly represented by the photos. Each bedroom has it's own bath. The kitchen is large and nicely layed out with plenty of dishes, pots, serving bowls and even 2 coffee makers! Everything was comfortable, clean and very nicely decorated. Perfect for our group. However, on Monday morning we awoke to the sounds of an industrial jack hammer on the property next door. This continued all day until well after 6pm. We could not even be on the deck because of the noise. Forget sleeping. We did call the realty company and also emailed the owner directly. She was quite sympathetic to our plight and offered to look into the situation but that was it. No offer of monetary compensation was made which we thought would be appropriate. She did say she was unaware of any construction but she was aware the property had recently been sold. This will be going on for many months so be forwarned. It really did interfere with our vacation as the noise was heard everywhere, even at the lake. Other people staying there in nearby homes voiced comments of annoyance at the noise. Also- the home is literally steps from a very busy road. There are no sidewalks. If you would like to take a walk or go for a run you must drive to the state park down the road. While it is not far it is still an inconvenience. Had we known this we probably would not have brought 2 dogs with us. So- a beautiful home but not ideally located for us. May work for others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: The sudden commencement of construction on the lot next to "Laurel Cove" came as quite a surprise to us. Unfortunately for the guest who wrote the review, it began during their stay. The horrible "Jack-hammering" (no question about it - it was horrible) was required to break through granite to reach the depth needed for the footers for the house. That has been completed, so the jack hammering is OVER! There is no doubt that for the next few months (Aug-Oct) during the week & most likely on Saturdays, typical construction noise will be heard from next door. Once the house is under-roof & the bulk of the construction moves inside, the noise will definitely be muted. In addition, because of the lay-out of "Laurel Cove" the main living areas are buffered from exterior noise, both from the construction next door & any road noise - which brings up the next issue the guest addressed. Glendale Road is a main artery for those traveling to & from the Southern parts of the lake. It is busy, particularly during the week in the mornings & evenings when folks are going to/from work. At other times & on weekends, traffic is much lighter. I have never had to wait for more than 5 or 6 cars to go by to turn out onto the road. There are no sidewalks & the berm/shoulder along the road is narrow. So, while many people do bike along the road, I, like the reviewer, would not recommend it for walking or hiking. We have two dogs who always accompany us to the lake. I walk them around the house, down the path to the lake and along the beach. They love it and I can't imagine kenneling them vs. bringing them with us. In summary, I do appreciate the nice things the reviewer said about "Laurel Cove" and very much regret that the "jack-hammering" next door was so disruptive to their vacation. There was absolutley nothing we could do about it, other than making sure all noise ordinances were being observed. I do believe the worst is over and that future visitors will NOT be subjected to the same problem.
