I want to thank Nancy for the best Christmas ever. My family and I spent the Christmas Holiday in this fabulous, well kept home. The pictures online does this house no justice; it is an unbelievable beautiful home. The house was equipped with everything one might possible need while on vacation. We were a party of 16 including the children and had more than enough room for privacy as well as socializing. We had a great time and the children enjoyed themselves so much so that on Christmas day we had to remind them to open their presents. This was truly an unforgettable Christmas celebration. Everyone on the trip is still thanking us and Nancy for a memorable Christmas. Our children now have lasting special memories they can pass along to their children; the true meaning of Christmas; unconditional love, sharing and special moments with family, and friends; not the hoopla of commercialism. The associates at the realtor company were nice, accommodating and truly helpful. Wisp Resort about 7 minutes away from the home was a great place to spend Christmas day with their many activities. Thanks again Nancy and all blessings to you and your family.

We had a family reunion over Thanksgiving and had a fantastic time. The house is large and beautifully layed out! The main area on the 1st floor is open and easily accomodated 17 of us. The living room on the lower level was wonderful and provided an additional area for games.(Catch Phrase was the game of choice this vacation.) The kitchen is a delight, and there are ample number of plates, silverware, pans, serving dishes, etc. for a large group. The view of the lake is magnificent. We took a few hikes at the State Park just minutes away by car.(We had no problem jumping in our car.) Thank you, Nancy, for letting us stay at your house for a special family vacation so close to Pittsburgh.

beautiful inside....not so much outside--beware of construction next door.

We just returned from a week stay at this property. We were a group of 15 family members celebrating a 70th birthday and a 50th wedding anniversary. Let me start by saying that the home itself is stunning and very appropriateatly represented by the photos. Each bedroom has it's own bath. The kitchen is large and nicely layed out with plenty of dishes, pots, serving bowls and even 2 coffee makers! Everything was comfortable, clean and very nicely decorated. Perfect for our group. However, on Monday morning we awoke to the sounds of an industrial jack hammer on the property next door. This continued all day until well after 6pm. We could not even be on the deck because of the noise. Forget sleeping. We did call the realty company and also emailed the owner directly. She was quite sympathetic to our plight and offered to look into the situation but that was it. No offer of monetary compensation was made which we thought would be appropriate. She did say she was unaware of any construction but she was aware the property had recently been sold. This will be going on for many months so be forwarned. It really did interfere with our vacation as the noise was heard everywhere, even at the lake. Other people staying there in nearby homes voiced comments of annoyance at the noise. Also- the home is literally steps from a very busy road. There are no sidewalks. If you would like to take a walk or go for a run you must drive to the state park down the road. While it is not far it is still an inconvenience. Had we known this we probably would not have brought 2 dogs with us. So- a beautiful home but not ideally located for us. May work for others.
Owner response:The sudden commencement of construction on the lot next to "Laurel Cove" came as quite a surprise to us. Unfortunately for the guest who wrote the review, it began during their stay. The horrible "Jack-hammering" (no question about it - it was horrible) was required to break through granite to reach the depth needed for the footers for the house. That has been completed, so the jack hammering is OVER! There is no doubt that for the next few months (Aug-Oct) during the week & most likely on Saturdays, typical construction noise will be heard from next door. Once the house is under-roof & the bulk of the construction moves inside, the noise will definitely be muted. In addition, because of the lay-out of "Laurel Cove" the main living areas are buffered from exterior noise, both from the construction next door & any road noise - which brings up the next issue the guest addressed. Glendale Road is a main artery for those traveling to & from the Southern parts of the lake. It is busy, particularly during the week in the mornings & evenings when folks are going to/from work. At other times & on weekends, traffic is much lighter. I have never had to wait for more than 5 or 6 cars to go by to turn out onto the road. There are no sidewalks & the berm/shoulder along the road is narrow. So, while many people do bike along the road, I, like the reviewer, would not recommend it for walking or hiking. We have two dogs who always accompany us to the lake. I walk them around the house, down the path to the lake and along the beach. They love it and I can't imagine kenneling them vs. bringing them with us. In summary, I do appreciate the nice things the reviewer said about "Laurel Cove" and very much regret that the "jack-hammering" next door was so disruptive to their vacation. There was absolutley nothing we could do about it, other than making sure all noise ordinances were being observed. I do believe the worst is over and that future visitors will NOT be subjected to the same problem.
