This is our 2nd year having our church's Women's Retreat at the Adamstown Inn and Cottages. It is the perfect setting for a group our size (about 19 women)! We have our meetings and meals in the larger cottage, the Adamastown Inn. Several ladies sleep in the Adamstown Inn as well, but with 19 people, we needed additional sleeping rooms. The two smaller cottages (The Firefly & Dragonfly) provide the additional sleeping quarters, as well as a private place to get away from the other ladies and reflect if needed. The staff is amazing! They are quick to respond if we have any questions or problems (or lock ourselves out of one of the houses:) The basket of goodies they provide in each house upon arrival is an added bonus! They recommended the restaurant, Judy's on Cherry, to us last year and we loved it. We visited Judy's again this year and were not disappointed. The only downside would be that each bedroom does not necessarily have its own private shower (some have very nice whirlpool tubs in them instead). For anyone who does not enjoy taking a bath, they are required to share a bathroom with ladies in the other bedrooms. Other than that (which noone even complained about to me), the ladies absolutely love the cottages and look forward to coming back!

Owner response: It was once again a pleasure to host the Women's retreat in our homes. We look forward to seeing them again. We do try to allow a certain amount of amenities so that our cottages are well suited to families as well as romantic couples. We love having them and they take splendid care of our home.

Our stay here at the cottage was wonderful. As soon as we walked in we felt a sense of home. I would recommend the cottage to all our friends. We look forward to spending another vacation here again!

This is a very nice cottage - our first visit to Adamstown I was particularly "intrigued" by the village and that the shop-keepers lived upstairs- awesome idea! We enjoyed antiquing and visiting several of the covered bridges in the area. We also enjoyed the decorations/antiques in the house.

Upon arrival our greater Kristin was friendly & informative! She showed us around the cottage and gave certain instructions on how things work. We were impressed with the cleanliness of this cottage and were given a "welcoming" Lemon Bread which was delicious. Our two dogs Pumpkin & Patches were also welcomed with a very generous gift package....their tails were definately wagging! We've had a very comfortable stay...almost felling like home, and will always remember the "Firefly Cottage". Adamstown was wonderful! Thanks for a wonderful time!

The cottage exceeded our expectations. The decor is very warm and cozy. We loved it. The children really enjoyed the jacuzzi. If we could have stayed longer we would have. Maybe the next time we are in the USA? So thanks for everything.

What an enjoyable place to stay. My wife and I along another couple decided to try our luck with the Firefly Cottage. What an absolte joy. It ws everything their ad said it would be. We stayed for a whole week and did not want to go back to South Texas. The area was super it was close to everything. We sat outside grilling and enjoying the beautiful weather ( it was a string of 40 days of 100+ weather back in Texas) The garden was beautifu and quiet. I reccomed if you are thinking about this cottage stop thinking about it and just rent it. You will not be dissapointed

Thank you for a very special vacation time. We have had a wonderful time at this cottage and throughout Pennsylvania. The weather has been fantastic. Beetlejuice lives in the attic, according to David. He professes to have heard him roaming around. Thank you for all of your hard work to make the Firefly so beautiful. Thank you for all the beautiful and thoughtful preparations for our visit. The weather was great, especially the first two days. The fruits, vegetables, and food were fantastick. I will never be satisfied with a tomato until we come this way again.

Our family had a very comfortable stay at the Firefly Cottege during our trip to PA. It was convieniently located within about 20-45 minutes to all the major attractions that PA had to offer, yet off the beaten path enough to feel like you were going home at the end of the day. The property was large enough to allow our 3 kids to run, play, and explore, had WiFi to keep us connected to our friends, and the hottub was a blessing at the end of some very tiring days at Hersheypark. The owners were so friendly and helpful in making our stay absolutely the best, and they even had treats for the kids upon arrival. There is a terrific grocery store and many tasty restaurants just minutes away, as well as antiquing galore!!! The only things I would have to recommend you consider before your stay are that the cottege is located directly on Main Street so there is some minor traffic noise, but nothing that kept us awake at night, there are no bathrooms on the first level, so get used to the stairs, and the doorways are a little lower than usual, which only posed a problem for my husband who kept hitting his head (however, he is 6'6" tall). Otherwise this was a truly wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a personal and family-friendly experience!

Warm greeting and delightful, welcoming, clean and roomy accommodation. We were able to walk to fabulous antiquing and excellent restaurants were nearby. Lancaster was a short 20-minute drive and we felt as if we were in the center of Amish country. The house is lovely and extremely well-equipped with high quality untensils, cookware, linens and antiques. Highly recommend this gem!

We stayed this summer at the Firefly cottage for 5 days and enjoyed every minute of it. The decor was very warm and all the antique items everywhere in the house were so nice. We would have liked to stay a few days longer, but the cottage was already rented out to other people. The ceilings are low so if you are very tall you could bump your head. The house is otherwise very spacious. My husband and I stayed there with our three teenagers. A lovely bathroom with a large bathtub and a jacuzzi outside. Also the garden and all the other potted plants were very well kept. We would surely recommend this cottage to you.

On our recent stay at this cottage we were delighted with the surroundings, and especially the bedrooms. So much character and charm. Five adults fitted comfortable in the cottage, and we thoroughly enjoyed cooking our own meals and using the hot tub outside and inside. We would definitley recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a romantic, relaxing getaway, or even a family.

My husband and I have always enjoyed spending time in Lancaster. There is a relaxing and accommodating atmosphere that we have always encountered when we have stayed at the bed and breakfasts. However, our normal expectations were surpassed when we stayed at the Adamstown Cottage over the Easter break. For two people, you might think a small house was a bit much, but it was quite the opposite. The house was quaint, charming and modernly appointed at the same time. The steam shower was just right ticket after driving 4 hours and working 2 12-hour days previously. Before dinner, we both were able to unwind and read in the lovely livingroom in front of a fire. Tom and Wanda gave us great tips regarding restaurants, and we were not disappointed with any of the meals we had in the restaurants they recommended (Lily's, Johnny's Steakhouse, VIVA). After dinner our first night, we could snack on some things later in the evening that we were able to keep in the well-stocked kitchen. We even had a place to keep our sample of pomegranite dressing that we got at Lily's! It was so convenient. Both bedrooms were beautiful. We chose the bedroom with the king-sized bed. It was absolutely comfortable! When I was unable to sleep one night, I was able to get up and go into the other bedroom and read without disturbing my husband. We were only in Adamstown for three days, but I felt very relaxed and contented when I got home. We have talked about booking a stay for a longer time period, and we may just do that sooner than later. Most importantly, if you're looking for a getaway in which the owners are attentive and responsive to your needs, the accommodations are clean and are interestingly quaint yet modern at the same time, this is the place. We will be definitely going back!
