Crows Nest
This upper level junior one bedroom has individually hand-crafted woodwork throughout. The beautiful workmanship is carried through the entire unit, creating a nautical ambiance. Soak yourself at the end of the day in the deep antique clawfoot tub/shower. Or, cook yourself a warm meal as you look out over the yards of this quaint area. The kitchen boasts new granite counters, fixtures and appliances. Everything you need to cook great meals is supplied, including spices! There is more closet and cupboard space than you will be able to fill and plenty of light pouring in from the east and west facing windows. A double bed is located in the landing alcove; additional sleeping accommodations are available by way of a futon couch in the living room. The unit also has antiques and new furnishings.

Captain’s Quarters
This cozy bottom level studio apartment has new hardwood floors, a built in "captain’s bunk" (double bed) and plenty of storage space. A very comfortable queen size Murphy Bed with new pillow-top mattress is also available in this unit. The bathroom has been completely remodeled with glass brick, tile and marble, allowing light to filter in. The newly renovated kitchen opens up to the living room and allows you to chat with your partner or guests as you prepare meals. The kitchen window looks out east upon a lovely garden and light filters through from both east and west facing windows. Everything you need to cook great meals is supplied, including spices! There is no shortage of closet and cupboard space in this unit. Antiques and new furnishings are found throughout the unit.

Please indicate if the whole duplex (both units)is wanted during the same time period. $50 cleaning fee per unit per week of stay. Half rent plus cleaning deposit required to confirm. Full rent due 30 days in advance. Cancellation fee of $100 if cancelled 21 days or more before arrival. Maximum occupancy per unit: Three per unit.

Located on Porter Street in the southeast part of San Francisco, this former Carriage House has a colorful past. Once a Speakeasy during Prohibition, it was later purchased and remodeled by a Merchant Marine who lovingly created an atmosphere reminiscent of a ship. Two units are available for rental. This a quiet location in a bustling city. There is plenty of street parking in this area, no parking permits required and no restrictions on length of stay, once you park your car.

Excellent nearby public transportation makes this ideal for those who are afraid to drive the steep hills and one-way streets of San Francisco. The #23 bus line is a few doors down and will take you to either Mission Street or the Glen Park Bart Station. The Carriage House is located a 10 minute walk from Mission Street where you can catch buses to downtown and connect to just about any part of the city. Bernal Height’s main shopping district, Cortland Avenue, is four blocks away and contains numerous shops, restaurants, video stores, grocery stores, deli’s, laundromat, bank, bars, library and much more. Be sure to take a walk down Cortland and enjoy all this busy street has to offer. The Farmer’s Market is held on Saturday, just down the hill - farmers from the central valley come to sell their produce, flowers, herbs, chickens, seafood, honey, nuts and breads. Arrive early to buy the freshest ingredients.

  • My husband and I stayed in the Crow's Nest in early August while in town for a reunion with friends. Being able to stay so close to where our friends live, while not having to bunk up on air mattresses and floors, made for a wonderful and comfortable visit. The deep bathtub was a welcome sight after a day spent walking around the city and hiking through Golden Gate Park. The Crow's Nest had everything we needed, and was immaculately clean. We hope to make this our San Francisco home every time we visit!

  • Hello everyone! We lived in the Crows Nest here, it was a wonderful stay that we had. Me and my professor stayed here for five wonderful days. Its just like your own home, just walk in and everything is there. The kitchen here is awesome with all the spices readily available. We shopped meat and other groceries from the shops at the near by mission street which is just 5 mins walk. We barbequed pork, chicken, cooked spaghetti and many other cuisines. Kitchen is fully equipped and welcoming. I would say the house is welcoming with all the amenities of a descend house with a feeling that you are on a cruise with all ship like amenities and it’s a wooden house… oobs!.. Awesome. The city central, city central is just 10 bucks away on cab. Bay bridge is 25$ away. Cool cool… BART is very near but didn’t venture for that as cab will be available in 5 mins of call. The owner of the house is very kind and humble nice lady, no hicks and pricks like we hear about the house owners. I usually live in holiday apartments whenever I travel abroad. I have been to Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore but have never seen any break free style of dealing from an owner. I would recommend this house to any of the San Francisco visitor for a pleasant stay. I will definitely stay here when I visit San Francisco again. Annette .. Keep up the Good work!
