THE HOUSE:
Welcome to our roomy Cape Cod style house in a picturesque beach community with all the hi-tech amenities. On the first floor, the house has a living room, dining room, recently remodeled and fully equipped kitchen, double bedroom, enclosed, three season front and back porches for lots of extra space, and bathroom with shower. Upstairs, three people can be accommodated in the king bedroom, since it also has a twin bed. Across the hall is a queen bedroom. This room also has a futon to sleep two. The full bath has a tub. There are room air conditioners throughout the house for your comfort. The TV has integrated DVD/DVR and 200 channels. There is a VCR and a CD/tape music system. Use your computer with free wireless internet. The telephone has free, unlimited all-distance service. Relax in the private fenced back yard with large picnic table, patio set and gas grill.
THE AREA:
Remember when you were a kid and the whole family went to a real old-fashioned beach and boardwalk? A 3 minute walk away, Ocean Beach Park recreates that era, with its half-mile long white sand beach and boardwalk. Enjoy the amusement rides, waterslides, miniature golf, food and ice cream, Workout World (WOW) Fitness Center, nature preserve and trails, Olympic-sized pool, children's playground and huge video arcade. For only $14 per carload weekdays ($18 weekends) your whole family can enjoy the beach, boardwalk, beach volleyball courts, nightime movies and entertainment on the beach and much more. $45 will get you a family pass for your entire stay if you walk in! A short drive away are two of the world's largest casinos, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. A Greyhound Bus station is also in New London. Local buses (SEAT) can take you to malls and downtown.

We're here in New London shooting a feature film called "Party Like It's A Verb." We started at Ocean Beach at 6 am and it was sunny - then the fog rolled in - and so did the foghorns!! The sun came out and then the Carousel started. The cast and crew are from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. We got a photo with my head in the mouth of the whale at the mini golf course. Dear Carolyn and Randy, Our two families had a great time! The five kids (ages one and a half to seven) enjoyed the beach. We went every day from about 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm because the weather would cool down by then. We spent a full day at Mystic Seaport - an easy drive from here. Most nights we cooked, including one BBQ in the backyard. The house was very homey, with all the supplies needed for folks like us on a simple budget. Thanks so much for your very personal touch of hospitality!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our 50th anniversary all month. We enjoyed the house and thank you for the snack basket. The house is close enough to Ocean Beach Park that we walked quite a few times. We had small groups of friends join us for lunch on various days to celebrate and the back room was great for eating out, playing cards, etc. It was a pleasure meeting you and we wish you well in the future.
