Rob & Virginia, we had a fabulous time at your condo in Maui and I won't hesitate to recommend your condo to our friends in Colorado. Our next trip to Maui will definitely be based on the availability of your condo. We had 7 adults in our party and it's a little embarrassing but when we first arrived at the condo, someone propped open the front door and I brought in the luggage on a cart. The foyer is large and the condo door blocked the entrance to the 3rd bedroom. The condo is huge and I probably lapped the condo 3 times saying “WHERE IS THE 3RD BEDROOM?” Fortunately we closed the front door and “discovered” the bedroom… all to the relief of my son and daughter-in-law that were assigned the very spacious 2nd bedroom. The master bedroom can be closed off with sliding panels and then opened up during the day to give access to the lanai. I used some WD-40 (from the closet) to quiet a squeaky pocket door in the master bathroom. We saw whales from the lanai… definitely need to bring binoculars. We also had a sea turtle right off the shore in front of the condo. The cooler in the closet came in handy for the day trip to Hana. Tip: leave early and drive all the way to Hana and see the sights on the way back. I did not realize the advantage of being on the 5th floor and looking OVER the palm trees until I checked out the view at an open house on the 3rd floor. Their ocean view is unfortunately blocked by the trees. If this condo is available during your Maui visit, you’re fortunate. Thanks again for making this lovely (and spacious) condo available. -Don

Leap year arrivals

The three of us gals, we call ourselves the "Merry Widows", had a wonderful 10 day stay in Rob and Virginia's beautiful, on the beach condo. We sat five floors up overlooking the beautiful Hawaiian Pacific along with the whales and turtles greeting us daily. Being a corner unit we also enjoyed the well kept grounds and pool, lounge area of the resort. An easy elevator ride down to all available activities including the barbeques of which there were many to pick from which by the way was a great way to get to know the neighbors. I give a big plus to this condo unit and would definitley stay there again if able. Very spacious and had everything to begin our stay. Best part....the awesome views and relaxed, quiet, casual atmosphere. A plus was the recent addition of WiFi which allowed for us to utilize our little I-Pad, Kindle toys especially when the weather turned sour. Rains, winds, and high surf warnings but most always, warm and sunny. Thank you Rob and Virginia for a wonderful, comfy vacation. Hope to return someday. Loved it!

Paradise In Maui!

We stayed at the condo for 2 weeks! Wish it could have been longer! What a beautiful view from both lanais! There was so much room for all of us. The bedrooms were apart from each other for privacy and the condo was clean and tidy. We had every appliance we needed in the kitchen. We loved whale watching with our coffee each morning! The condo was exactly as expected. Mahalo to Viginia & Rob! It was a pleasure working with you! The location was great close to all amenities. The beach was fantastic and the grounds of the Sands of Kahana were all that we expected. We could go downstairs each day and had no problem finding a lounger to relax on. Wow the waves!! We even had a friendly turtle greeting us every day! We were amazed at how clean the BBQ's were each day and they were always available! Once again, a big Mahalo! We will always have fond memories and plan to return to the condo again!

This condo provided our family(9) with the best of accommodations and fun times of any We've experienced! Time spent on the fantastic beach to the great ocean sunsets were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Just can't say enough about how accommodating this condo was to our overall stay. Amenities of the complex are excellent. The amenities are similar to that of a resort but it has a feeling of a much more private environment. In a word, "great". We'll be back!

I can't say enough good things about our stay! We had a party of 8 and there was plenty of room for all of us. We saw wales from our lanai daily and the sunsets were amazing. The condo had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. Everything in the condo was up to date and the decor was exactly what you'd expect being on an island. The staff at the Sands couldn't have been more helpful and polite. The grounds are very well kept and each morning we saw staff working as early as 5am but not once did they disturb guests. Dealing with Rob was a breeze and he answered every one of my emails through the whole process right away. Our 10 day stay ended way to soon, but the next time we visit Maui, Rob will be the first person I will look to for a place to stay. Thank you Rob and Virginia for sharing your amazing condo with our Ohana.

We had a fantastic time and this was my second visit (and not my last) to this condo. The location is perfect and the views from the lanai are spectaculare, particulary during the migration of the whales. We had plenty of room for the 8 of us and took advantage of the spacious kitchen and BBQ's downstairs. We also took advantage of the Happy Hour provided by the Bar/Restaurant downstairs....too fun! The owners were great to work with and very prompt with every aspect of the booking. I would highly recommend this condo!

Thank you for allowing us to vacation at your wonderful condo. We were there for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. It was in a great location right on the beach. The views were beautiful and the kitchen was well equipped. The condo was very spacious, perfect for our large family. We really appreciated the extra help that Rob and Virginia provided so that we could meet the special dietary needs of our son. We were able to ship a box of food over so it was waiting for us when we arrived and we had directions to a speciality grocery store waiting for us at the front desk. The grounds of the Sands of Kahana were beautiful. The recently renovated children's pool was wonderful, and although we spent many hours there it was never enough for the kids. Thank you very much for the wonderful week. Many great family memories were made. We would highly recommend this property to all our friends and family!

Thanks Rob and Virginia great condo you guys have and must say an excellent location right by the beach very good view of sunset and beach. Fully equipped kitchen, nice clean and spacious condo. We had lots of fun with our family and friends must visit place. The property is very well maintained inside and out. We all had a comfortable stay. Buy food from Costco as you land in Maui and there are few stores nearby for emergencies also a McDonald's for the little ones if you need. We had a memorable trip to Maui.

Outstanding Dream

This was our second trip to Maui and the location of the property right next to the sea made it truly amazing. Getting up in the morning and seeing the wonderful colors of the sea, magnificent sunsets and a 180 degree rainbow made our trip truly worthwhile. There are wonderful beaches nearby and we for fortunate to see dolphins and turtles. The property is very large, well maintained and at no moment did we feel cramped. Thank you Rob and Virginia for making our stay so comfortable. This will truly remain an outstanding dream.

Paradise Revisited

There were seven of us who stayed at this Condo from August 7th - 14th. Our whole experience that week was extremely family and child friendly. The unit was exceptional - spacious, airy and wonderful accommodations for everyone. The amenities in the unit and at the Sands of Kahana Resort were outstanding, nothing that one might want or need on vacation was missing. One plus, on-Island activities can be coordinated and arranged through the Sands of Kahana tour office and we found this the way to go. The sunsets on the lanai were breathtaking and the pools and the ocean right out the door were a big plus. Before we arrived we had requested and received area and resort information that was more than helpful when we were planning our days activities. The shopping in Lahina was abundant and we'd recommend the luau at the Royal Lahina Hotel as it was extremely family friendly and entertaining. The bar/snack bar at the pool was very handy and the prices unbeatable. In addition to the luau we did the dolphin watching excursion, "submarine" coral viewing trip, the aquarium and the Iao State Park rainforest. We highly recomment this Condo and the Sands of Kahana Resort for anyone who wants to see and live the Island lifestyle for even a short time - you have to see it to comprehend and appreciate its beauty and tranquility.

Hi Virginia and Rob, Your condo is sensational! It's spacious and beautifully furnished. We loved just sitting on the lanai and looking at the gorgeous view of the ocean and sunsets. Being just 10-15 minutes from Lahina was great because we love the art galleries, history of the town and, of course, the restaurants and shopping. There were four of us and we loved all the amenities at the Sands of Kahana. Thanks for letting us share your paradise vacation condo. We can't wait to come back. And I got to swim with the turtles. Great palce to stay with a group!

What a great place to stay with a group! We stayed at the condo for a week and loved every bit of it. We have stayed at other condos before but this place was our favorite. Rob and Virginia did a wonderful (and accurate) job of explaining what the place looks like. The photos on this site are exactly as the condo is. The 3 bedrooms allowed for our group to get some alone time during the day and also have a very quiet bedrooms space at night. By the way, all the beds were very comfortable. The common areas are clean, well appointed, and provide everything a group needs for a stay on the island. The views are spectacular from each lanai and the air conditioning came in handy during the day when it got hot. We talked to other guests and many of the other rooms did not have A/C. At night, we turned it off and opened the sliding doors and took in the island air. The kitchen was functional and easily had enough plates, glasses, and silverware for the 7 of us. The two bathrooms were big enough and the water pressure was surprisingly good for the 5th floor. The Sands of Kahana resort is a nice place...two pools, an on-site restaurant with better food than we expected, a large hot tub, beach volleyball, and 4 different grills that are cleaned every morning by staff so that you can use them and not worry about was was left on the grill the night before. The resort is located about 8-10 miles north of Lahaina and is easy to drive to (about 15 minutes). North of the resort, a number of public beaches can be reached in a short 10 minute drive with great opportunities for snorkeling. A rental snorkel shop is right across the street from the resort Boss Frogs). If it is your first time on the island, take in the Old Lahaina Luau, it is worth the money and the evening is great. I am not a magic fan, but for the adults, the Warren and Annabelle's Magic Show is amazing and very much worth the cost of admission. Skip the overpriced milkshakes at the resort, and go across the street and one block down to McDonalds...you will thank me and so will your pocket book. Buy food at the COSTCO when you land and add local fruit from the local stands. Other than that, sit back and enjoy the paradise that this condo provides! Rob and Virginia, thanks again for such a wonderful visit...our family had the best time, made lots of great memories, and said over and over we had the best place to stay on the whole island! We cannot wait to come back!

Ocean Front Paradise

Our family of nine spent 3 weeks at Rob & Virginia's condo. It is the most comfortable & fully equipped condo I have ever stayed in. Traveling to Hawaii every year we found The Sands of Kahana condo one of the best. The condo ihas everything you could possibly need for a great vacation. The A/c is great on a humid day but opening both sliding doors & letting the beautiful breeze flow is so refreshing. My favorite spot was sitting on the front lanai, there is a second on the side where my children found some alone time. Looking to the left off the corner lanai is the beautiful mountain range with a rainbow everyday & straight ahead is the most breathtaking view of the blue pacific. We sae whales & turtles right off the lanai.Rob & Virginia aare great to work with & so helpful with anything you need. Any age will ejoy this condo. The entire staff of The Sands was happy & helpful always with a smile & Aloha. The restaurant is great, fresh fish the best & happy hour drinks for half price. The unit is generously sized and offers all the conveniences of home. The living area is extremely comfortable, and the view is second to none. The faciliies at the complex including restraunt, pool, etc are also very nice. They even offer clean stainless Steel BBQ available for guests that is great.

We just returned from a wonderful week at the Sands of Kahana. When we walked in we were just thrilled with the accommadations and the view. Being on the 5th floor was another plus. Our bedroom and livingroom had a full view of the ocean, pool and grounds. The second bedroom was wonderful and when we didn't want the sun, we enjoyed our time on that lanai. We loved watching the whales right from the lanai. We also enjoyed grilling our own steaks, etc, right outside the door. We would certainly recommend this condo to everyone and already have told some of our friends in Wisconsin about it, in case they travel to Maui. My family stayed at this gorgeous condo March 14-16, 2011. The condo was super-clean, very nicely furnished, and one of the closest buildings in the development to the pool, hot-tub, and restaurant/bar. The view from the Lanai was spectacular! It was really quick and easy to get to Lahaina, but far enough away that the evenings were very quiet. This is a super place to spend a family vacation. I couldn't recommend it more!

Our group of 8 adults stayed for a week in January 2011. All the reviews below sum up our experience in Rob and Virginia's condo. The condo was spacious, cozy (beds so comfortable), views that your can't imagine, staff was fabulous, grounds were immaculate, happy hour delightful, hot tub magnificent, beach gorgeous........Rob and Virginia were EXCELLENT to deal with and answered questions in a professional and timely manner. I'm already thinking about planning a trip for next year---we loved it so much! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this condo to anyone and we would love to stay during future trips! Thanks Rob and Virginia! Oh almost forgot-----we loved Island Froyo in Lahaina. It serves waffles, frozen yogurt and toppings. It is a wonderful place to eat brunch----- not too expensive and SO good. They have only been open a few months......

Exactly as advertised

We had a wonderful time during our 10 day stay. The condo is exactly as described. We were surprised at how spacious the unit was, with plenty of room for everyone either to be together, or to have some alone time if needed. The kitchen is very well equipped. We had virtually all of our meals in the condo, ranging from simple to complicated and were able to find everything we needed. The views from the lanais is spectacular and we were fortunate to be able to regularly watch the whales play in the water in front of the Sands of Kahana. The location of the property was perfect for us. Kahana seems to strike a nice balance by being neither too busy nor too quiet. You are less than 10 minutes from Kaanapali beach to the south or Napili or Kapalua beach to the north. And it is close to the amenities you need to make sure you can enjoy the holiday without spending too much time traveling for shopping or activities. Lahaina is only a 10 to 15 minutes drive (depending on traffic) and has everything you need, at reasonable prices. The facilities at the Sands of Kahana are a plus as well. The beach is great, and not too busy. For most of our stay the water was quite calm although the surf did pick up for a couple of days and the kids had a great time with their boogie boards and body surfing. There is also a swimming pool and hot tub just off the beach for those who prefer to avoid the salt water and sand. The fitness facilities have everything you need, if you feel the need, and the tennis courts are in great shape. The staff is very helpful if you have any questions and you can book any activities on site. All in all we found this to be a perfect vacation spot for our family and at a very good price. We intend to return again and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

My family and I recently stayed at this property for 10 days. We have stayed at the Sands of Kahana a number of times and always enjoy our stay. We were very pleased with the accomodations and everything was just as described in the pictures. We dealt with the owners personally and felt they were very accomodating. The sleeping arrangement for a family of 7 was great and the beds were very comfortable. A big plus for this condo was the air conditioning. Most units do not have a/c and it is not always needed but when it is needed it is a plus. Another plus for the Sands of Kahana is the beach, you are right there, you don't have to drive to enjoy a walk on the beach. The views from this condo are wonderful, we were there in December when the whales were in and we were able to enjoy many spottings. Overall a great place to have a vacation.

Rob----many thanks for supplying a wonderful condo for our Maui vacation. Our adult family of 6 will remember it always as the best vacation! Working with you was so pleasant, and your price is the best. Your location is wonderul as there were many fabulous restaurants close by. The space is incredible-----each couple had plenty of "own" space, yet the living room and dining room are huge enough for everyone. There were excellent supplies for kitchen----anything anyone could possibly want for cooking. You're one of the only units in the whole complex that (I saw) who had the roll down blinds to block the heat of the afternoon sun! The sunsets were marvelous------beyond expectations. The AC was needed only a few hours following that sun. The master king bed was so comfortable, we want to get one like it for us at home! We spend tons of time just relaxing on the spacious lanais (2 of them!). There was 1 sink in 2nd bathroom. The photos are accurate. I'm sure you get many compliments as your condo is fabulous. Thank you both so much for renting out this wonderful condo! We had such a wonderful time! The condo is great and the view even better! We enjoyed many breathtaking sunsets straight from the lanai. My only concern when renting this condo was how the beach was, having kids and avid snorkelers with us. The beach was great, however the snorkeling not so much, but when you are on Maui you don't have to go too far for that! Thanks again for helping to make our family vacation a memorable one! Our experience dealing with the condo owners, Rob and Virginia Bayer, was excellent. They answered all our questions, were precise in all they said. The condo was very comfortable, clean and had all the amenities one would want. For our family of 6, including our grandchildren, an 18 and a 12 year old, we all had our own space. The views were magnificent and the photos describing the condo were exactly as you see it, even the rainbows... We do alot of traveling and have certain expectations, all were met. Our first trip to Maui

My husband and I thought we had seen the best of Hawaii, but boy were we mistaken! We booked our condominium with Rob and Virginia Bayer, who were professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. Staying in the most beautiful and spacious place was a great treat for our 30th Anniversary. Each night we sat on the balcony and watched the sunset and listened to the waves, absolute PARADISE. The condominium was lovely, exceptionally clean and the staff very courteous. My husband left his credit card one night at dinner (early bird specials) and by the next morning we had it returned to us. Wow!

This was my first trip to Maui and the main purpose was my daughter's wedding in Lahaina. We had a number of family members with us and had 8 people sleep in the condo very comfortably. The condo was so lovely and it was perfect for our group. The view was breath taking and the facilities and condo staff were all beyond my imagination. It was a memorable vacation.

Mahalo Rob & Virginia for sharing your Maui home with us. The condo was so perfect for our family. It is the largest I have ever stayed in and we all had pleanty of room to find alone time. The view is breath taking, sitting on the lanai watching the waves & hearing them as we drifted off to sleep was wonderful. Everything we needed you had provided and it is a truly great place to stay. It was above & beyond our expectations. The restaurant at the condo was great. Late afternoon happy hour & half price dinners before 6:30 p.m., and all the fish was the best we ate on the island. Malaho again & hope to stay there again next year.

We went to Maui for my son's wedding and this condo was absoutely perfect! It was even more beautiful than the pictures and the description reflected. We saw whales from the lanai every morning! There were 6 of us staying in the unit and we had more than enough room for everybody. The unit was large enough that we didn't get sick of each other! heehee The grounds were immaculate and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was so wonderful to be able to have the whole wedding party over the night before the wedding to celebrate. It was such a pleasure to work with Rob and Virginia. They were so helpful, professional, answered questions, and most importantly, responded so quickly. They made it all so easy and uncomplicated. I can't wait to go back and I would not even consider staying at any other condo. Thank you so very much Rob and Virginia for sharing your beautiful condo with us and for helping make my sons wedding even more perfect.

What a beautiful and fantastic place to stay on Maui! Kahana is the ideal community to relax and enjoy Maui. It is quiet, lush, with very friendly people. The condo was convenient to find and couldn't have been more perfect for our stay. It is just exactly as it is described on the website. Fantastic location and beautiful well kept grounds, covered parking. We were fortunate enough to see several rainbows while we were there and they look exactly like the picture featured on the website. On the large lanai we sat every morning drinking coffee, watching whales, turtles and even moonsets, which there were many. The evening sunsets were even more spectacular. Wow what a view! It is truly a lovely and spacious home away from home. The condo couldn’t have been more suited for our group of 6, my husband and I and our 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson. It was very clean and very well stocked. It was so handy to have the washer/dryer right in the unit, so we could pop in a load of clothes, meaning we didn’t have to pack as many clothes or beach towels. We ate every meal on the lanai. There were activities we participated in during our stay at the condo, like ‘Flower Lei Making’, which the flowers they supplied were just gorgeous and made beautiful leis, and family volleyball tournaments. We’ll always cherish our time we spent with our grandchildren there in that fantastic condo on the beach in Kahana Maui. What memories the group of us are taking home. We'd love to do it all again. P.S. Rob and Virginia were oh so kind and quick to respond to our questions we had thru e-mails and phone calls prior to our visit. Thank you Rob and Virginia.

We came home from Maui wishing we could stay at least another week. We had an absolutely wonderful time in that magical place, made all the more enjoyable by staying in your beautiful condo. We found it well-maintained and lovely--exactly as you described in advertising and correspondence. The large space was perfect for the eight of us, allowing everyone privacy while providing lots of room for gathering. We hosted a dinner party there for all those attending our daughter's wedding (some 30 people) and it worked beautifully. My son and I used the barbecues on the well-tended grounds to cook chicken and burgers, and your large kitchen worked well for my wife and other family members to prepare salads, etc. Mahalo, Rob and Virginia, for making the experience an enjoyable one from start to finish, and for sharing your lovely home with us. We hope to do it again someday.

Delighted with our recent stay at your beautiful condo. It was the perfect place to warm up on our way back to Sydney from a very chilly New York. Thrilled to see the very regular appearance of a large turtle right in front of the condo and on several occasions we were also lucky enough to view whales from the balcony. The Bayer's were great to deal with. Their Maui Condo is as good as it sounds. With untrustworthy people out there I was a little hesitant to prepay for our condo. But there were no problems and the Bayer's walk you through it step by step. The great part was I had lot's of time to pay off the condo before the holiday began. Like a payment plan save for the get away. We were at the condo for 16 days and LOVED it. There were 9 of us total and there was lots of privacy so no one got sick of each other. The views are spectacular, weather perfect and the condo was quiet. The condo had everything we needed right down to an ice maker in the fridge. Washer and dryer were wonderful no quarters and no dirty laundry to bring home. Do not hesitate at all if you like what the pictures show TRUST me you will be more then happy if you decide to rent from the Bayer's. Rob & Virginia have a wonderful condo and I thank you for sharing it with our family. I would rent again in a heartbeat and am already saving for our next Maui vacation. As soon as I know when it will be The Bayer's are first on my list to call-why wait paradise awaits!

What a delight it was to walk into such a gorgeous, spacious condo! We had 8 adults staying there and never felt the least bit crowded. All of us enjoyed the view from the time we sat on the lanai, had our morning coffee and watched the waves lapping at the shore each morning until we watched the sun set over the island of Lanai in the evening. This unit was amazingly well equipped which made our stay most enjoyable. (There was even some duct tape for a minor repair on a piece of luggage!) We would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to friends. Rob and Virginia, you have a marvelous condo unit. Thank you for sharing.

We have been to Maui several times and this was by far the best place we've ever stayed. The condo was so big & comfortable; it easily accommodated all of us (5 adults & 2 kids). We had everything we could possible need and then some. The lanai was large enough for our entire family to enjoy morning coffee and evening cocktails. (The view is breathtaking!) A wonderful sandy beach is steps away. The restaurant on the property was very convenient and all the shopping you could want is just minutes away. Best of all were the Bayar's. What a great way to spend a week on Maui with friends. The condo is well appointed, very spacious, super clean, and located in a very "walkable" neighborhood with easy access to Kahana Beach, parking, and retail shops. There were only 4 in our group, but the condo could comfortably accommodate more. It's a great place for cooking, entertaining, or just relaxing and taking in the spectacular ocean view - the real highlight of the condo that provided hours of entertainment. The ocean is, after all, what a trip to Maui is all about.

Our family loved staying in the Condo, the kids say it was like a mansion. I especially liked the fully equipped kitchen with a large double sink. The lanai (balcony) is where we ate our meals, the pull down tarps kept us comfortable on windy days. Getting our daughters wheelchair in and around the entire condo was easy. The bedrooms were spacious. It was easy to get to the beach. And the beach was great. Facing the ocean was amazing. Opening the windows and getting a breeze was refreshing. Multiple TV's were a good feature. The pools were nice. The staff were helpful and quick to be of service. Nice to have the washer and dryer in there as well. Grocery stores and all amenities are right across the street. We want to come back, but this time, the kids say we need to go horseback riding.

I spent hours researching our lodging for our 30th wedding anniversary. Boy, did I make a great decision! This condo has a million dollar view that made each day of our stay simply wonderful. Talk about spacious! All five of us had plenty of room to roam which was important with two teenage girls. Sands of Kahana has it all. We loved the bar-b-que grills, the abundance of parking, and the sandy beach for swimming. Of course my choice would be here the next time we return because our stay this time was perfect. The condo is absolutely wonderful. Plenty of room to relax, it was spotless, and included all the comforts of home. Not to mention the easy access to the not so crowded beach and pools. Definitely felt like a home away from home. We loved watching enjoying breakfast every morning and watching the beautiful sunsets from the lanai. Our family had a wonderful holiday in your unit this Jan. We spent 3 weeks in paradise, the unit was huge, especially the large bedroom, where our kids AND our grandkids could sleep. The unit was stalked with everything we could possibly need, and THE VIEW, wow!! If we are ever so blessed to have the opportunity to holiday with our kids again, this is where we would want to stay. We had a wonderful time in this condo. The view of the Pacific was spectacular with the added charm of whales breaching in the distance. The oceanside location made it extremely easy to get to the beach for swimming or snorkeling, and for the few intrepid amongst us for surfing at the park nearby. The apartment itself was clean and commodious. The kitchen and bedrooms were clean and well stocked with all of the essentials for a pleasant stay. I will recommend this apartment to any and all of my friends and we hope to rebook next year.

We(three couples in our late 20's) arrived at Sand of Kahana on Dec 6th, 09 and stayed a fun filled,comfortable and beautiful 7 nights. The place is just HUGE, and you won't believe the views! We spent every morning on our ocean front lanai having breakfast and enjoying the amazing scenery. Maui itself was just great.
