Fabulous place, right on the sand and close to the village

We just completed our stay at this fantastic, newly built house on the beach. There were eight of us staying at the house-- two families. We also had another family visit for one or two afternoons. The house comfortably held all 11 of us (5 adults, 6 kids). We had a great time. I'll review the place in three sections: 1) THE HOUSE -- the photos on VRBO do not do it justice. It is gorgeous, with lots of thoughtful little architectural features. Everything is very high end-- granite, fixtures, appliances, sound system / entertainment system, motorized shades and windows, etc. The layout is perfect as the kitchen / dining level is very open and large and opens onto the main deck. This is where we spent most of our indoor (awake) time. It easily held all 11 of us without feeling cramped. There are three decks (one on each level) each overlooking the beach and ocean. There are two suites that serve as "master" BRs and three other BRs that are good for kids in that they don't have ocean views. All BRs have bathrooms, which are all high end. There is a very large media room with a great entertainment system. The surround sound is movie-theater like and made watching movies every night very enjoyable. 2) THE LOCATION -- the house is literally right on the beach. Open the windows and hear and smell the ocean. Beach Barber is just south of the village, maybe a five minute walk to the closest coffee joint and 15 to the heart of the village. Also, it is not nearly as crowded as some of the other LJ beaches as it feels like more of a "locals" beach. 3) THE OWNERS -- We had a great interaction with the owners. I asked to visit the house before we rented it back in April (for a July stay) as I was in San Diego on business at the time. Cliff went out of his way to meet me there and has been very accommodating and helpful ever since. We even had one small problem at the house during our stay and he came over within a few hours to fix it. The place is clean, neat and very well maintained. Our two families concluded that we made a great decision by renting this house. It was more money than we originally budgeted, but being right on the beach and going to sleep every night to the sounds of the waves was very relaxing. In addition, it was convenient and comforting with our kids to be right on the beach and to simply walk in / out whenever someone needed something or wanted to get out of the sun.
