The location of this property is second to none. It sits out on a point so you get views from three directions. The snorkeling is outstanding and you have direct access. My 85 year old mother enjoyed the ever changing vistas from the outside deck. We saw whales, dolphins, surfers, scuba divers and swimmers depending on the time and weather. I would describe the home as Hawaiian rustic. It has a warmth that made us feel at home. We had a family reunion and the house provided everyone with space and comfort. We appreciated the extra touches like spices in the kitchen (we left a few more) and the closet with extra snorkeling equipment. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

We came here for a family reunion -- 4 couples, all in our 50s and 60s and could not have been more pleased. The owners are easy to work with and supplied us with ideas of activities, good places to eat and places to golf. The home itself is amazing and beautiful --- lovely koa wood throughout so it truly feels like Hawaii and not a cookie-cutter house that could be anywhere. It opens up to allow the wonderful warm, tropical breezes flow throughout the entire house. Eating dinner on the lanai with the ocean mere feet from you while the sun sets -- the world "paradise" hardly does it justice. We were all able to relax and spread out without being too close together or too far apart. (Important for family reunions :-) ) The hottub was perfect to ease the muscles after a tough day of golf. I would definately recommend this lovely home.

If you are looking for a special place to spend time with family and friends, look no further. This beautiful, spacious home has fantastic views and all the amenities you could want. Watch whales, turtles, surfers and sunsets from the large deck and enjoy great snorkeling right out the front door. Great beaches are only a short walk away. We also enjoyed exploring the tide pools right in front of the house. The owners also have great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. If anything, the pictures and descriptions of this fabulous home do not do it justice. We had an absolutely fantastic time and hated to leave this home. This is a truly special place. Don't hesitate to reserve this home for your Maui vacation. We wil be back!

My husband and I brought our three grown children and their families to this beautiful house for a week long reunion. The size and layout of the house allowed plenty but not too much togetherness. Quiet, private, but not isolated. The view from the deck is breathtaking and we were all fascinated watching the turtles and surfers. Master suite was lovely; best sleep I have had in a while. Nearby beach was perfect and breakfast at the Gazebo was excellent ... My husband couldn't get enough of the fried rice! Owners were very helpful setting up for our young granddaughter and their recos for restaurants, shopping, and things to do were spot on. Yeah Costco! We took home many good memories.
Owner response:Thank you Tina and Mark. Glad you enjoyed Papaua Paradise and were able to share it with those you love so much.

This home was as close to Paradise as it is possible to be. It was beautiful and very relaxing. The turtles were many and very entertaining. We really had a great time---The only problem was that it was hard to leave. It was a wonderful place. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful beaches that were within walking distance and the snorkeling which was great.
Owner response:Thank you Jan, wonderful having you visit and thank you for the nice review. That was very thoughtful. Look forward to having you back soon. Best, Miles

Just stayed at this home in November and it was fantastic. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures portray. It is located right on a point so from the deck you can view both the sunrise and sunset. Dining on the deck at sunset was beautiful. Everyday we snorkeled with turtles and other stunning fish in the bay right below the house. I would reccommend this house as a great group vacation house. I look forward to a return soon.

We just went to Maui for a friends 40th birthday, couples only! This house had everything and then some. Our trip was amazing. Totally relaxing, all our needs were met right there at the house. Snorkeling was top notch, house was very comfortable, million dollar views, pool table, hot tub, etc etc. My husband and I have taken our kids to Maui every year and stayed at hotels, condos, you name it. This is our new spot! We are hoping to go back annually with the kids so they too can enjoy swimming with dozens of giant sea turtles all day long! Hopefully we'll be able to book our dates.~Sandy, Davis Ca

This home provided our group with the best of all worlds! It was spacious, clean and comfortable, offered beautiful views of the ocean, surfers, sunsets and whales AND had the best snorkeling ever just steps from the house. Honestly we never felt we had to leave for anything. The home is well supplied and the owners provided great, detailed directions for things in the home as well as travel sites, restaurants, even good places to get groceries. My husband and I love snorkeling and we were so excited to see so many turtles, beautiful fish and coral right outside our back door. We could go whenever the mood struck us and then relax in the sun on the rocks, the deck or in the hot tub. We went to celebreate a friend's birthday but we felt like it was a dream holiday for us all. I hope to come back here with extended family soon!

I can't say enough about this amazing house, and the owner was very gracious and easy to work with. Every single night we enjoyed dinner on the deck with the most beautiful backdrop one can imagine. We snorkeled with turtles each day right in front of the house! The location makes you feel like you're really somewhere different because it's away from the built up hotel after hotel strip. As a result you feel so much more relaxed and able to experience nature, family, and friends without any hustle and bustle. Look no farther--you've found the place to stay.

Being the first time renting a home away from home we were skeptical at best. On arrival we found the pictures to be representive of the home and exactly as billed. The house is spacious and inviting. The location is the best! True ocean front. No immediate beach but coves each side of the house. Lava rock frontage gives remarkable views of Moloki and the Pacific. Great sunsets over the island of Moloki, Trust the statement about the turtles and fish in the coves. We paid some 90+ dollars to snorkel Molokini and see the fish and turtles. Having seen a few fish and no turtles we slipped into the cove when we arrived back at the house and saw some 20+ turtles nose to nose! All in all a good choice for the ten of our family. Would do it all again! Thanks Miles.

Our family visited this lovely property for my father-in-law's 90th birthday celebration. The home was just perfect for our party--we had seven people, and the layout worked very well. We had more than half of our meals in, and the kitchen/dining area worked beautifully. I had to work part of the time, and sat at the dining room table watching literally dozens of whales and scatterings of turtles frolicking. We had 10-15 foot crashing waves the first three days right in front of the house, and had a lovely sunset on the last evening. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the large living/family room was a relaxing place to sit and visit while watching the surfers. We thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely visit again!

Being a travel agency owner for 16 years, I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to experience some of the best destinations and accommodations....I found this home for client's that came back to me with rave reviews...So, I was dreaming of going there myself ,with my family for my Birthday in January 2010. Well,, words cannot describe our fabulous, breath taking experience. Nothing will ever compare now to this "Heaven on Earth" piece of paradise found. Miles and Linda do not realize the memories they are creating for others when they make their guests feel so "at home" and welcomed. All the other reviews describe this property so very well... If you are looking for the ultimate, tropical, private, oceanfront home with every creature comfort, this is the place....... 18.Papaua Place!!..... Mahalo , and we will definately return... My family and I stayed here with some friends last year for a week for my 30th birthday and I would do it again in a heart beat. If you are considering it, DO IT!

Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for the ultimate getaway!!!Being right on the ocean was amazing, and the huge deck is perfect for BBQing or sunbathing in private. We snorkled in the cove next to the house and came within 3 feet of a huge sea turtle. Priceless! Thank you!

If you are looking for paradise, THIS IS IT!!!!!Our family has had many Hawaiian vacations, and we have stayed at great resorts on each of the islands, but this was by far the best place we have ever stayed. Lots of room to hang out together, and plenty of space for alone time. This was our first time renting a home anywhere, so I was a little skeptical, but the house is even nicer than the VRBO website pictures and description. The location is perfect! Can you imagine sitting on your own beach just outside the door of your house?A house close to stores and restaurants, but completely quiet and secure. You don’t even know you have neighbors! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need including spices for cooking and a BBQ just outside the door. We ate each meal on the balcony with the ocean literally steps from “our” house. Having dinner as the sun set over Molokai is something you would pay top dollar for at any restaurant, and here it was just waiting for you to enjoy. My family is a beach family…..we live in Southern California, have a beach house and spend lots of time snorkeling and surfing, (My husband has been SCUBA diving for thirty years) but being able to walk out the back door and swim with giant turtles was the thrill of a lifetime. The downstairs was a great place to hang out……sip wine while soaking in the Jacuzzi, play pool or ping pong, read a book, play cards or a board game. Anything you need…….boogie boards, ice chest, snorkel gear, beach chairs, etc. ….. it’s all there for you to use.The only bad thing about staying here is that it will be almost impossible to find anything even half as nice for our next vacation. I guess we will just need to return. Thanks Miles we had a GREAT time!Marlene and Denny Schuberg

We stayed at MIles beautiful home April 6 to 13 2008. It was a marvelous, upscale Gilligan's island experience we Lloved. We were a party of 4 adults and 4 kids ranging from 9 to 16 years. The house; and Maui had something to offer everyone. Loved the turtles, whales, eeels, and happy hour on the deck with the best view in Maui. We'd definitely go back

We can not thank you enough for the super vacation we just had at your home in Maui. We had been anticipating the vacation with wonderful dreams since August of last year but the actual experience far exceeded our dreams. We swam with the turtles, watched the numerous whales (lots of mothers with babies) and fed the eels. We have done four trips now with our family and they all agree that this one was by far the best. After our glowing praise of our stay, we already have friends asking about renting the house. We will refer them. Thank you for the bottle of wine. We drank a toast to you and Linda with it. Thank you again. We will be back! Dorothy & Darryl Stow

Our family reunion was beautifully handled by your wonderful home. We're from No. and So. CA, meeting in Maui, and all felt we were rolling in luxury. We kept gravitating to the lanai trying to get our fill of the ocean, whales & turtles - and thank you for the binoculars. Everything we needed was covered and championships were won and lost at the pool table. We keep emailing each other trying to keep the Papaua Place magic going.. Thanks, again!

This was our second visit to this vacation home. The wife and I love this home and look forward to returning in the future. This home has one of the best views on Maui. The sunsets from the deck are always worth staying home to watch. Whales, turtles and many different kinds of fish are all in the waters near the home. Snorkling is pretty good right in the small bay next to the home. There is a beach within a five minute walk from the house. Kapalua is just five minutes north and Lahaina is 15 minutes south of the home. This home is great for a single couple, but it is large enough to handle 4 couples and not feel crowded. We would recommend a stay at this lovely home. Myrna and Alan Meeks

Our family stayed at Papaua Place over Easter break 2007. We could not have been happier with the choice - there is nothing that we didn’t like, or thought could be better. The house is large enough that 4 kids and 4 adults could always find a quiet spot, and cozy and comfortable such that we always felt “at home”. Kitchen and BBQ equipped for any meal, basic cereal and toast to a really nice NY Steak Dinner (we prefer not to eat out). Great separation of space for bedrooms make this easily a multi-family-friendly home. The deck provided us a great spot for whale and turtle watching. The small cove was better than Molikini (and didn’t require a 5AM wake up call!). We swam with turtles every day. And of course sunsets every night. The location is just perfect, a small enclave of super nice homes, very private, very safe (you can sleep with the house open all night and feel safe). Lahaina is an easy 20 minute drive when you want to get out, but far enough that you feel like you are a local when you’re home. There is great walking/running up to the Ritz. There is a sandy beach just beyond the Napili Shores condos, and easy walk (or drive if you want to bring a lot of stuff).Thank you to Miles for offering this slice of paradise!
