We have rented Casa Azul in San Miguel de Allende for four years during the month of March. The house is located in Colonia San Antonio which we especially like since it is walking distance to El Centro and is one of our favorite parts of San Miguel. There are many good restaurants within walking distance and it is near the wonderful Mercado San Juan de Dios. The house is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is especially well-equipped. The attached casita provides a private and lovely room for extra guests---a feature our guests truly appreciated. The outdoor patio/garden with its colorful plants and flowers provides sun and shade spaces with furniture for relaxing and/or enjoying a meal outdoors. In our opinion it is one of the most useful outdoor spaces we have seen in rentals in San Miguel. Patricia, the woman who works in the house three mornings a week is marvelous---very hard-working, dependable, and efficient. She keeps the property very clean and organized. The owner has been very helpful and accommodating all the times we have rented Casa Azul. We very much appreciate her help in making our stay enjoyable. We would highly recommend Casa Azul to anyone who wants to visit San Miguel.

We have stayed at many other casas in SMA over the years and this was one of the most pleasant, all things taken into consideration. Good location, close to Jardin and Perroquia, nicely decorated, enjoyable patio with gardens and rooftop terrace. Five of us shared the house for a month and there was plenty of privacy and space for all. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The Wi-Fi worked well, beds were comfortable, the house has a lot of charm and generally met all our needs. We would like to especially mention the wonderful job Patricia, the housekeeper did with maintaining the casa while we were there. She REALLY did a great job and we totally appreciated her. Also when a slight problem did arise, it was immediately attended to by Yoko, the manager, which we also appreciated.

WOW !!! The pictures do not do this "home" justice..................The owners have thought of every little detail to make your stay a memorable one. Four of us spent one week here in July.........and all I can say is.... "it wasn't long enough". The casita was grabbed by two in our party and the remaining two of us took the master bedroom/bathroom in the main house. The bed in the master bedroom was oh so comfy and the sheets were awesome .... smooth and cool and silky. Even though we only had breakfast in the house.... we found the kitchen to be well equipped.........and if we had wanted to make gourmet dinners...... the tools were there !!! Frankly there are just too many good restaurants nearby .... and we wanted to try as many as possible....... A trip to the upscale "THE RESTAURANT" is a must as is to the comfy "EL TOMATO" which features Argentine Italian cuisine...... both very yummy....... San Miguel is VERY safe as is Casa Azul's neighborhood................Can't say enough good things about Casa Azul..... We will be back !!!

We absolutely loved Casa Azul as it was well located, roomy, had everything we needed for our stay and more! We enjoyed the rooftop garden every evening at sunset and loved leaving our car parked and walking everywhere. The pictures in the website show how attractive and tasteful this vacation rental is. We definitely hope to return!

Casa Azul is a comfortable, spacious abode and so attractively furnished, well located, close to the Jardin, and walking to the centre of town a brisk 15 minutes. The maid service is excellent and the house is immaculate. The pictures are exactly what it is like. I highly recomment it for a short or extended stay. --

If you’re looking for a place to stay in San Miguel, look no further – this is the house. My friends and I stayed here a week in October 2010, in celebration of my 50th birthday and the house and attendants exceeded our expectations. The owner, an artist, has decorated each room to capture a true Mexican ambiance. As a gracious host, the owner thoughtfully supplies a manual with information you may (or may not) need to operate the house, numbers to call if you need something, and restaurant recommendations. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, glasses, and cooking utensils. We made friends with local Americans that spoke very highly of the owners. My favorite things about the house: The Mexican/Moroccan décor, the rooftop patio to watch sunsets, and the shaded courtyard filled with lime trees we used to make Margaritas! Beds are very comfy, too. The maid and cook served us well. They were very sweet and went out of their way to pamper us. We’re a tough crowd, my friends and I. We travel often and are frequent house renters: Europe, Key West, Lake Tahoe, Bar Harbor, etc. But, this one particular stay had one more hurdle to overcome: exceeding the expectations for Mexico instilled in us by our Mexican grandmothers. And Casa Azul certainly did that.

Our third trip to San Miguel and second time at Casa Azul. The spacious double wide lot gave lots of walking around room inside and the downstairs patio/garden was our favorite for mealtimes. The roof patio was fabulous for evening sunset/ views and drinks. The separate 'casita' has wonderful privacy withour feeling isolated. Lots of nearby local restaurants. The short walk to the center of town was a plus and a good gym also in walking distance kept us from gaining any weight despite fabulous food and a spacious and well equipped kitchen. Good video library and WiFi kept us entertained and in touch. In summary, the best vacation experience you could ask for. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful week at Casa Azul, when we went to San Miguel to attend a wedding in Delores Hidalgo. My husband, myself and 4 children ranging in ages from 17-25, were all very comfortable. The house is very warm and homey, with a wonderful courtyard to enjoy the cool mornings, and a rooftop deck to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. It's location is off the main street so it is quiet, yet an easy walk to the center of town, for restaurants, groceries, and shopping. Thank you Kathy for helping make all the arrangements so easy, and the contact's in San Miguel were most helpful.

Six of us, including my son and his fiancee, spent two weeks over the Christmas holidays in this wonderfully spacious and warm house. The memories of that time still bring a smile to my face and warmth to my heart! The place is much more than the sum of it's parts and the photos, while accurate, just cannot convey how truly lovely and homey this casa is. We loved eating in the many restaurants and we loved eating at "home". The kitchen has everything one could need to make a great meal come to life. Great beds, quiet nights, tranquil days, space to be together, space to be alone...we shall return!!

My friends and I stayed in Casa Azul for the Thanksgiving holiday and had a wonderful time! The lovely home was so spacious and we each had our own space. Everything we needed was there ... Mike is a chef and enjoyed shopping at the local market for fresh fruits and vegetables and preparing some meals in the well-equipped kitchen. We were able to walk to everything. Kathy was very attentive and called to be sure everything was okay during our stay. We plan to visit Casa Azul again!

We stayed at Casablanca the first week of September and LOVED it. There were 4 of us (2 couples) and we all felt that the house made our trip to San Miguel. It was beautifully decorated and comfortable. One morning, we did yoga on the rooftop deck and that was amazing. We made coffee every morning and had some margarita happy hours before we would venture out to dinner. The food in San Miguel is amazing. I would recommend El Correo (across from the post office) and La Capilla near the Jardin. We preferred being a few minutes out of Centro and we enjoyed the walk into town. The neighborhood felt completely safe and we never had a problem. The owner and the house manager were on top of everything and all the information you could need was well organized. We all would highly recommend staying at Casablanca if you're going to be visiting San Miguel.

We rented this house for a family vacation and stayed 8 days. We brought our two daughers ages 26 and 18. Casablanca is a lovely house with wonderful, comfortable spaces for the whole family. The bedroom were large and all had their own bathrooms. Very important with so many women in the house! The house stayed neat and clean, thanks to the housekeeper who came every other day and was very accomodating i.e. offered to do laundry. We enjoyed walking to the Centro, shopping at the nearby markets, buying fresh tortillas and sweet smelling pan dulce. We appreciated that the house was not in the busy Centro. It was fun to shop, eat dinner and hang-out there, but we liked coming back to our quiet neighborhood and welcoming house. We mainly ate breakfast at the house, but the kitchen was fully equipped and we could have happily cooked every meal if there weren't so many restaurants to sample and explore. Taxi's were cheap and plentiful. You can go anywhere in the city for $2US. Both daughters loved their experience and appreciated the video, cd and game selection provided by our hosts. The parents appreciated the enclosed calm of the patio--our favorite reading/breakfast place. The daughters liked hanging out a Mama Mia's--the parents recommend Don Quiqote and Harry's. We would definitely come back to Casablanca but would want to stay for much longer!

We rented this proprety for the week between Christmas and New Year's, and loved it! The house is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures, and the owners have covered everything. Good information was provided both before arrival and at the property; everything from how to light the heater to where to get groceries and restaurant recommendations was at hand. The kitchen was stocked with spices and other condiments, making it easy to prepare a meal if you, unlike us, manage to resist one of the many good and affordable restaurants. I was fond of the neighborhood. I would characterize it as slightly rough around the edges as compared with the polished centro, but in a wholly good way. It was comfortable, generally quiet, and always felt safe. Basic services (pharmacy, tortilla factories, bakery, corner shops, restaurants, juice stand, etc.) were all within a couple of blocks. The walk to the centro was, as advertised, about 15 minutes up a moderate hill (much less steep than many hills on the east side of town), and was reasonable to do a couple of times per day. We had a car and therefore appreciated the secure parking...most any destination (other than the centro itself) is reachable from this neighborhood without getting caught in the traffic of the centro. In brief, I'd happily return to this house on a future trip to San Miguel.
