The Lakehouse, on just under an acre, has direct waterfront on the main portion of Pontoosuc Lake as well as the back portion of the lake. There is 1 dock for canoes on the pondside and a swimming area on the main part of the lake opposite the house. There are a canoe and a kayak on-site for guests to use. Some areas of the lake are busy, but you can find quiet backwaters where you may see eagles, great blue herons, and beaver lodges with views toward the Taconic mountain range.
All of the cultural richness of the Berkshires is within easy reach: Tanglewood, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Shakespeare and Company, Clark Art Museum, MassMOCA. The property has a park-like feel with a large lawn and mature trees. The cottage, set back from the road, was built in 1922, has all new appliances, and a south facing enclosed porch for dining with lake and mountain views. There is 1 large bedroom with Queen bed, smaller bedroom with full size bed, a sleeping porch with twin and trundle.
Ideal for a family with many interests! Owners live on a nearby 1800s hill farm with sheep and chickens, so you will find fresh eggs in the fridge when you arrive. Check with us about pets.

Year Purchased: 2005
Bob and Prudy Barton- Bob is a semi-retired consultant on non-profit fundraising. Prudy is a teaching librarian in a local school. Our farm is about 10 minutes from the Lake House towards Williamstown. We love the views at the Lake House and the large, shady lawn as well as swimming in the lake.
