Welcome to life on the lava flows. Welcome to your own quaint, garden cottage on the quiet, greener side of the Big Island of Hawaii, just steps away from the light blue Pacific Ocean.. Our Guests describe a feeling of peace as they walk through the door into a charming retreat.
Wake up each morning and go for a sunny walk to the lava cliffs or the tide pools. Smell the rain washed country roads, and the fruits and flowers of the botanical wonderland right outside your door... And don't forget the Farmer’s Markets full of treasures, bargains, and healthy, yummy, freshly, made local treats, just waiting to be discovered. All close by.
*There is magnificent Rainbow and Akaka Falls *Volcano National Park is a short drive from the cottage *take a swim at Coconut Island *or Warm Pond(a volcanically heated pool) *Coffee and Macadamia Nut Farms *Deep-Sea Fishing, Diving, Snorkeling *more waterfalls *little nearby towns to explore

*The Ocean Room has a single bed plus a double futon that pulls out, its own private balcony overlooking a huge Banyan tree.
*The Sun Room is everyone’s favorite for its thick, double futon, big, comfy, wicker chairs, and tons of light giving you the feeling that you are sleeping in a Hawaiian Treehouse (except ours locks securely and has privacy drapes).
*The spacious living room is cozy with hanging paper lanterns and rattan lazy-boy chairs. You can watch one of our CD's, read a book from our shelves or choose a game or puzzle.
*The couch is comfortable for a good night’s sleep or pulls out into a queen-size bed to make a total of nine possible sleep spots.
*The kitchen has everything you will need from a coffee maker to cookie cutters. You love the open cupboards and huge surfing print. A long Bamboo bench assures you of company while you cook. The dining table has room for everyone, with breezy wicker fans throughout every room.
Our yard has too many varieties of flowers to list. Grab a vase and you can make your own tropical display to enjoy throughout your visit. Feel free to check for a ripe, juicy pineapple, or maybe you like to try passion fruit or a strawberry guava. And do not forget your camera so you have our flowers to enjoy when you get home.
We would be glad to help you plan your itinerary so you make the most of your time. We can suggest our favorite places to go, shopping and restaurants, local beaches, volcanic heated ponds, day trips, and directions from the house.

Good Evening Laura and Family, I wanted to express to you my thanks for making your lovely cottage available for our family gathering over the Christmas holiday (2007). Our family is in a state of transition; as our children are old enough to start going their separate ways. We realize that the kind of gathering we were able to experience at your home in Hawaii may prove more challenging to coordinate in the future. It was the ideal setting and experience with the foliage surrounding the property giving the sense of remoteness while the slight sound of the crashing surf in the background was an added pleasure. The frequent downpours provided a welcome symphony as it crashed onto the corrugated roof. Robin and I truly love your selection of furnishings and the use of opaque roofing material to bring outdoor lighting indoors. Thanks Again.
