The location was excellent for skiing at Wolf Creek. Five families stayed in this 5 bedroom cabin. The size was great! The price was amazing, also! The only complaint I have is that the showers and tubs had buildup of soap scum. I looked for bathroom cleaner and a brush to just clean it myself, but was unable to find any. I suspect they were in the closet that was locked. Due to the great price and the excellence of everything else, I would definitely come back (but with bathroom cleaner and a brush in hand. LOL). I would definitely recommend staying at this cabin!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.

We were frankly a little disappointed upon arrival. While the surroundings are beautiful, the cabin itself was not what we had expected per the information given. The water pressure was terrible and my husband had to help clean out the filter to increase it. The river is right behind the cabin as presented, but the steep steps leading down to it were VERY unsafe; no railing and broken boards made it dangerous for kids and older people. There were also several weak boards on the porch and deck which we marked with various things so we did not step on them. The cabin is nice enough, but it was not very clean... the bathroom rugs in all bathrooms were dirty ( we layed towels down because we didnt want to step on them after bathing) and the towels, wash cloths, and dish rags were very old and worn. Both screen doors were in disrepair; what repair had been done was with duct tape. The screen door to the deck has such a large hole that a squirrel actually came inside the cabin one morning~~fun for kids, but not what we paid for. Also, we realize that the following may be weather related, OR because of the fact that the neighborhood dumpster is right by the cabin, but there was trash everywhere around the cabin, under the deck and down the trail to the river. We cleaned up quite a bit, but there was truly too much for us to take the time to clean up properly. Overall, we had a great time. Would I rent this cabin again? Probably not.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners.

Well, it was another win-win to Southfork Colorado. It is the perfect place for a family reunion/get together. Several bedrooms, kitchen, easy access to the roads & off roads..house is stocked with towels, dishes, dishwasher, linens, washer dryer, tv if you have time??? Plenty of Parking, good porch for all of your ice chests and fishing/atv gear...We celebrated a retirement party family week with 3 families no need to camp or pump water any more..All of the appliances worked well ..it was clean & the maid came on the last day to get it ready for the next group to come stay at the house. I would recommend it and stay again. I will also look for other properties in the area to place other guests in the travelling party..if you are tired of the hotels and other cabins options ..it is a great alternative , We enjoy many things especially, fishing, ATVing, hiking, river watching, drinking coffee on the porch, campfires and smores.... close to Creede, Wolf Creek, Rio Grand Resivoir, Lake CityRecommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

This is the 3rd visit and it's better then ever. Best location in the area and very private with easy access, even in the winter. The owner has made a number of upgrades recently. New glass top range, microwave, TV, and furniture. We'll be back soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

Why the Owner Chose South Fork:
Dan Schmedeman (owner) has designed and built dozens of log homes through out the Colorado Rockies. There is no place in Colorado more scenic then South Fork, and our cabin is setting in the middle of one of the nicest location in the area. After a few days at the cabin, you will not want to go home.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
My favorite time is the early fall when i can get up early, get my cup of coffee and walk down to the river or Million Resevoir for some trout fishing.
