We just love the Massanutten resort area ... close to JMU, Skyline Drive, and Luray Caverns plus all the activities at the resort. They have even added a zipline. This house is nestled in the trees and had all the space we needed to sleep 10 people plus host a reception for 22. The ping pong table in the lower level was a big hit. The only issues we had at the place was that there was no TV reception for the 2nd TV downstairs and no wireless internet service. Someone had previously unplugged the box which requires the service provider to come out to reprogram (something they don't apparently do on weekends). Carpet on main level extremely stained but we got used to it after awhile. There is a nice table on the back deck and plenty of chairs to enjoy watching the deer in the evenings.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Nice family home with personal touches and 2 excellent wood-burning fireplaces (one with effective wood stove) which were big hits on the cold winter days when we stayed. Biggest complaint was lousy wireless internet which did not work most of the time. But as others have commented here, ping-pong table, foos-ball and air-hockey were enjoyed by all. Other negatives were the very limited # of bathrooms (2 1/2) if you have a lot of folks and water presure not so good. Some deferred maintenance and almost no closet hangers (big deal with extended family of 14 and almost no bedroom furniture/dressers) so we went out and bought some. Like many houses in the development, it is built on a hillside with a ton of rather steep steps down. But owner and handyman were super-accessible by cell phone and very responsive. House nicely located for both ski slopes and short drive into town/restaurants. Also two nice living room/lounging areas upstairs and down, both with large flat screens and cable hookup, so wonderful for separate enjoyment. I am sure many families used this arrangement as we did to naturally separate by generations- kids downstairs where all the game stuff was also located and older folks upstairs. Kitchen is indeed well-equipped and easy to use. Beds were very comfortable. All-in-all it is a reasonably priced home-away-from-home kinda place which should please everyone so long as you can deal with a lot of steps (no problem for us!) and limited number of bathrooms.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a large group of 7 adults and 7 teenagers for a family/holiday vacation. House was 5 minute drive to ski slopes and water park. Luray Caverns was about a 30 minute drive and work the trip. The house was in good order and clean. Kitchen was fine for cooking meals and eating in.Some minor maintenance issues were resolved quickly by owner and local handy man. The very steep driveway and long steps would not be good for anyone with mobility or disability. The downstairs ping pong and recreation room was a big hit with kids and adults. The only suggestion for improvement would be a higher speed wireless internet.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

My family and I stayed during the Thanksgiving break. The home was very accommodating, comfortable, and the owners make the payment process simple. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table and other games. I enjoyed the comfy couches and all of the appliances they have available in the kitchen (which made cooking a breeze). The little touches as far as decor, make this house feel like a home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The house was very nice with plenty of room for everyone. There was plenty of cookware to prepare any kind of meal. The property is in very close proximity to the water park and skiing., golf and horse back riding. There is a multitude of games in the property to play. The property owners are very attentive to any questions or needs we had. The owners are very freindly and polite. We would recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy a stay in a nice well kept property with access to all the local amenities.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
