GREAT place to stay in Helen. It is about 7 min outside of Helen, but for us that was perfect. We stayed this past week on a Monday and Tuesday night, so Helen was very slow, but still great. The cabin was perfect for us. It is a little older and very rustic, but when staying in a cabin in the mountains that is just what we wanted. The down stairs bedroom is very comfortable and upstairs is perfect for kids. The kitchen is small, but for a party of two or four, it has all the space you need. To tell you the truth, don't cook, go out the eat and enjoy relaxing when at the cabin. The hot tub on the porch was a perfect touch to a long day. One place you must eat is Nacoochee Grill, best food in Helen I think. The last thing I must say is that the owner Lisa was great. So helpful with every little thing. My checks did not make it in time and she was so helpful in addressing the issue. Thank you again Lisa for being so nice and you truly blessed us this trip.

My experience with this cabin could have been better. When my guest and I arrived at the cabin, It was full of spider webs and looked as though it had not been used for months although the owner swears that it had just been used. The towels smelled rank and the jacuzzi smelled of mildew. We thought that someone would have cleaned and prepared for the next guest. I was very disappointed by that. The owner's personality left something to be desired as well. The cabin, after we cleaned it, turned out to be a nice stay and very convenient to everything in Helen. I love the cabins in Helen but would not make a return trip to this one.
Owner response:It's important to note that this renter cost us $563 in damages and lost her $150 deposit. One of the rare deposits that we have ever kept in over six years of renting on VRBO.

My husband and I took our kids to stay at Lisa and Bills cabin for the labor day weekend. We thought that they would not enjoy it but they did. This was the first vacation that we have taken together and we all really enjoyed it. The cabin was cozy and very homey. We look forward to going again.

We had a quick weekend stay at Bill & Lisa's cabin. The cabin was quaint, quiet, clean and a much needed rest for us working folks. I would reccomend this for family getaway or a romantic getaway for a couple. We also love visiting Helen and having a cozy cabin to return to at the end of the day was wonderful. Thanks again.

We would recommend this cabin to anyone. My wife and I stayed two nights at the Alpine Treehaus and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The owners were helpful and a pleasure to deal with. There are many things to do in and around the Helen area and we highly recommend Anna Ruby Falls. The cabin was comfortable and has everything you need for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle. (We especially loved the relaxing hotub after a day of hiking, and then winding down in front of the fireplace!)

The Alpine Treehaus was a perfect home away from home for our family of four this weekend. This was our first visit to Helen and we were very thankful to be able to leave the hustle and bustle (and traffic!) of Helen's Oktoberfest behind and go just a short distance to our cozy and quiet cabin in the woods. The cabin was the perfect size, very comfortable and nice and clean. The owners were a pleasure to work with and we were very appreciative of the local information they sent our way. Make sure you stop at Ain't B's bakery and cafe, which we were able to walk to for breakfast, when you visit. What a treat! We also enjoyed being so close to Unicoi State Park, where we hiked up to Anna Ruby Falls and enjoyed fresh trout and all the fixin's for dinner in the lodge. We hope to visit the area again soon. Thanks for a great weekend!

Our family spent a very relaxing getaway in this wonderful cabin over the weekend. Our only regret was that the weekend wasn't longer ........I could have stayed there forever. The owner (Lisa) was very helpful in getting us taken care of with very short notice and the cabin was all we had hoped it would be. I loved that we were away from all the hustle & bustle of the city yet it was only a very short drive when we decided to go into town. The Unicoi State Park is beautiful and serene and the tubing in Helen was very relaxing. I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends & family and would definitely stay there again. Thanks, Lisa, for sharing your hideway with us!

We absolutely loved our stay at the treehaus. It is exactly the way you see it in the pictures. The location is beautiful and quiet. The owners are a pleasure and Ain't B's at the bottom of the hill has good food and friendly service as well. I would definitly stay there during a future visit.

My husband and I recently stayed in the adorable cabin. THe location is perfect: secluded & private yet close to downtown. The cabin is exactly as it is picutred. The owners are a joy to work with and I can't wait to take my children for a visit the summer. If you are planning a trip to Helen, this is the place to stay!!

I must admit that I was nervous about booking a cabin with out going through a real estate company, but this was the best experience ever. We saved money and the hassle of having to rush of getting to an office before it closes. The cabin is exactly as it is claimed to be cozy, secluded for privacy, yet close to everything in downtown. My husband and I had the best weekend and can't wait to take the kids back this summer. Lisa was a great hostess even through the email and phone!
Owner response:Thanks so much! Helen is magic in the summer. We'll be lookin' down the road for ya!

This was our second visit to a Helen in 2009. We loved Helen in the Summer so we wanted to experience it during the winter. The cabin was exactly as described and the pictures are a mirror image of what you will find when you arrive. We enjoyed our stay; the only problem we had was the electricity turned off if you have the floor board heaters on. We are from Sunny South Florida and could not handle the bitter cold when we arrived; it was like an icebox! To avoid the electric problem we turned them all off. In the end the wall unit worked just fine to keep us happy and warm; so no biggy. My girls had fun exploring the area and met a friendly neighborhood dog. The owners are a joy to work with.

We had a great week in the cabin and the leaves were perfect. The cabin was very clean and zero problems. The owners go way about duty to insure you have a great time. Dont miss a trip to Anna Ruby falls, well worth the trip. The fireplace was welcome and used nightly. Buy your wood at Unicoi State park for a good deal. We found a new restaurant close to Unicoi called La La's that had great breakfast. If you want quiet (with an occasional rooster) away from the mainstream, this is it. Everything you can think of is in the cabin, they thought of it all. Thanks for the memories!!

Our experience began with kind, courteous dealings with owners Bill and Lisa. Their friendliness is as super as their rustic cabin! The amenities include a hot tub located on a screened-in porch, a working fireplace, DirectTV and DVD player. Sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch at night, listening to the 'katydid concert', brings one back to nature. The "Alpine Treehaus" is neat, clean and well-supplied with appliances, linens, towels, cookware and dishes, etc. Just bring your toothbrush and a change of clothing! Nearby amenities are plentiful! Unicoi State Park, Anna Ruby Falls in the Chattahoochie National Forest, and, in the Alpine village of Helen, there are German restaurants, tubing down a stream and lots of arts & culture. And...if you ever get a hankering to pan for gold, a 15 minute drive from the Treehaus location will put you in the area where more gold was discovered than the California gold rush of 1849. And there's more gold to be found "in them thar hills"; at a working mine, we found a few gold nuggets weighing .12 ounce. For rustic surroundings, in the heart of the Georgia mountains, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city-living, THIS is the place!

This cabin is even better than the pictures! The owners are a joy to deal with! The charm and seclusion associated with this cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway. It is close enough to Helen to go and enjoy the sites, but a few miles away to enjoy nature and the quiet sounds of night! The cabin is roomy, yet cozy and very well maintained! The hot tub was our greatest enjoyment! Book now...you won't be sorry!

The cabin was adorable and everything the pictures portrayed! The hot tub and all of the amenities were a hit. Helen and the surrounding areas were steeped in mountain charm, with plenty to do and see, and we fell in love with the Sautee General Store.

We just got back from a wonderful week at the Alpine Treehaus outside Helen, Ga. Georgia is in the middle of a drought but we managed to bring three days of rain to them during our stay!! Even with the inclement weather we had a great vacation. The cabin had everything we needed and was very convenient to Unicoi Park, Anna Ruby Falls, and Helen. The best part was sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee in the morning listening to nature. The owners were great to deal with and the directions and area information were very helpful. Can't wait to go again!!! P.S. Shannon (19 months) loved the Elmo Palooza video!!

Our stay in the Alpine treehaus was one of the best vacations we have ever had. It is so peaceful. The cabin well appointed with all we needed and the detail work is amazing. We loved Helen, Unnico park, Anna Ruby Falls, tubing on the river, but most of all, coming home to sit on the porch and enjoy the mountain setting. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The Alpine Treehouse is a wonderfully comfortable and cozy mountain get-away! It has everything you could need for a home away from home feel. It's location was also great for exploring Helen and the surrounding mountains, trails, and white water rivers. The highlights of our whole trip were staying at the Alpine Treehouse and wildlife viewing on the local trails... seeing many species of wildflowers & birds, and we spotted a mother Black Bear with her two playful cubs along a nearby section of Appalachian Trail :)

We had the best time at staying at the Alpine Tree House. Lisa, the owner, is so nice and helpful in making our plans. A friend of mine and I took 5 girls, 18 year olds, with us for the weekend for my daughters 18th birthday and they had the best time at the cabin and in Helen. The cabin is so nicely decorated with a country flare and has everything you need. I would suggest to anyone if they want a wonderful weekend in the mountains to stay at the Alpine Tree House.
