We stayed August 5th and 6th. The condo was comfortable for our needs. We really loved that it is pet friendly. The village is a beautiful place to vacation. We enjoyed the free concert (Rolling Stones tribute). The pizza at Firestone pizza was very good. You can park your car & do everything right from Squaw Valley--bike to Tahoe City on the path along the Truckee River and on to Sugar Pine State Park along the West Shore, hike to High Camp and on miles of trails, swim, golf, have dinner, etc.. The scenery is just gorgeous. Squaw Valley is our new favorite place to stay in the summer. Tahoe itself can be so hectic with traffic. We travel from a very small, quiet, mountain town, so when we want hectic we go to San Francisco or some other city. I was worried about the noise (I was running the Squaw Valley Mtn run the next morning), but it wasn't a problem at all. We slept with the fan on and windows open. It got very cool & the fan was enough to drown out any noise there may have been. We would definitely stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed here 2/23/11 to 2/27/11, and found the refrigerator and kitchen/stove lights not working, as well as a leak in the kitchen sink. The homeowner (not Squaw management) refused to help us, and ignored our phone calls. We ended up defrosting the fridge, and fixing it for them. This rental is poorly maintained all around -- scratched and stained furniture, outdated TV with non-working remote, missing handles for opening windows, kitchen not fully stocked (missing cutting board, colander, enough dishes), and other lights in the condo not working. If I could post updated photos here I would. Notice the last review was from 3 years ago. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this one, so rent another unit. There are plenty available, and you may end up paying a little more, but will be worth it.Owner response: We would like to thank you for choosing our vacation condo during your recent visit to the Squaw Village. We also would like to thank you for the time you have taken to review our 1 bedroom condominium and provide comments, be it negative or positive as it provides us with the valuable feedback and an opportunity to make improvements. We are very sorry to hear that your expectations were not met and would like to offer our sincere apologies for the disappointment you have expressed. Please be assured that all the issues raised have been addressed and appropriate actions were taken to ensure that our condo meets and exceeds the expectations of all our guests. We sincerely hope that you will offer us a second chance in the future and we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back to our condo in the near future.
