Step back in time on Prudence Island. Prudence is a serene and pristine island in Narragansett Bay, which is reknown for it's sailing and fishing. There are no restaurants and only two small island stores for the basics. Access is from the mainland by Ferry from Bristol, or with this rare rental, come in your own boat! Enjoy the luxury of your own dock and pier after a day of sailing or motorboating. Simply step off, unload and head for the outdoor shower! There is a deep water mooring for sailors.
"Atwood house" is a much admired, newly renovated, classic 1900 cottage with unobstructed, panoramic views of the bay. There is a large screened porch full of wicker to sit and watch the sailboats, ships, and wildlife. There is also a rear deck and front deck. Atwood house is somewhat separated from other houses and affords places of privacy, particularly on the screened-in porch. There is a large yard as well.
Across the road, which is quiet and traveled mostly at ferry time there is the pier. It is new, 140 feet long and has a 20 foot by 10 foot floating dock for your boat with a four foot draw at low tide. Also included is a deep-water mooring about 50 feet away. There is a beach next to the dock for swimming, clamming, or sunbathing, used by only one other family.
The unique positioning of this house affords sunset and sunrise views. There is a dramatic view of The Mount Hope Bridge,Providence in the distance, the East Passage and the entire North Bay from Cranston to Portsmouth. A truly magnificent spot, close to coveted Potter's Cove. |
