Dharma Guest House is nestled amid the forest near the beautiful cascading Millstream, providing a serene country atmosphere. It's difficult to believe that it's situated in the very heart of Woodstock -- the most famous small town in the world, a very popular tourist destination. It takes just 5-10 minutes to walk from Dharma Guest House to all restaurants and shops in town, as well as to the NYC bus stop.
We are a small place totally dedicated to the wellness of our guests. The Mandala Room is a studio adjacent to the main house. It contains a spacious, beautiful bedroom, a spa-like bathroom with a jacuzzi and a sauna, a kitchen and a wooden deck with a picnic table.
The Mandala Room is named for the exquisite artwork brought from India and Nepal, which decorates the bedroom. It depicts elaborate mandalas as symbolic maps of the inner world according to Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The room has an incredibly comfortable 100% natural queen size bed and is always adorned with fresh flowers. The skylight above the bed opens the view to the starry sky at night and in the morning welcomes in the dappled light created by gentle sunbeams and old maples. When the French doors are open, a fresh breeze plays with the curtains and fills the space with invigorating forest scents. The room has beautiful antique wood flooring and a sitting area with a cozy couch next to a stove which is great for chilly evenings. There is an office area with a desk, wireless Internet access, and a telephone (at no extra charge).
The large, private bathroom is genuine paradise. Relax in the jacuzzi surrounded by many flickering candles or detoxify in the cedar sauna, which provides dry or steam heat. We supply organic shampoo, shower soap, and hand soap. We also offer guests natural aromatic oils to use in the sauna or in an aromatherapy lamp.
The small kitchen has everything to make breakfast: a hot plate, sink, refrigerator, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster, dishes, pots and pans, and silverware are provided. Guests will also find a supply of teas, coffee, and snacks. We also offer everything necessary for breakfast - fresh fruit, orange juice, soy milk, eggs, cereal, bread, jam, butter, etc. Almost all products we offer are organic.
The private cedar deck provides a beautiful place to relax outside. Take your breakfast to the picnic table and greet the morning surrounded by blooming flowers. The deck is filled with a variety of flowering plants, which provide a feast for the senses with their diverse bright colors, exotic shapes, and fresh smells. Or spend a quiet sunny afternoon with a book amid the flowers, the inviting lawn, and the tall forest beyond.
The Mandala Room has a collection of interesting books relating to spirituality. There are books about Buddhism, about holistic health, about one's spiritual path, books with beautiful photographs from around the world, etc... Guest are welcome to take a look at them during their stay.
There are many great swimming holes just a minute away from Dharma Guest House, which provide a cool relief from summer heat.
Two mountain bikes are available for guests to explore the rejuvenating Woodstock environment.

Summer in Woodstock:
Summer is the most active season in Woodstock. There is a Shakespeare Festival, a Guitar Festival, a Tattoo Festival… There is a weekly drum circle and a flee market. There are street vendors selling jewelry, souvenirs, fruit, flavored ice. Cafes set up tables outside. There are free music concerts on the village green.
Summers are hot and sunny and because of this, both locals and visitors choose to spend most days at one of the many beautiful swimming holes, taking a dip, or lounging on warm rocks. There are a couple of spots right in town, and many in the nearby woods and mountains.
The Dharma Guest House property is shaded by tall old trees, thus providing a peaceful refuge from the heat.
