Located in the 8000-acre, luxury resort community of Big Canoe, this house is located at 3000 feet above sea level on top of Sanderlin Mountain, one of the tallest peaks at the extreme southern end of the Appalachian Mountains. The 50-plus mile view into Big Canoe and beyond will take your breath away. "Serenity" is a perfect name for this house and what you will feel when you stay here! Gazing at acres and acres of wilderness below your feet from the large deck, you will hear nothing but the sounds of nature, and you will share this special place with the wild turkeys, deer, and birds gliding on the mountain breezes.
The house is perfect for entertaining or relaxing. It features a great room with soaring ceilings, sliding glass doors to the deck with a retractable awning for shade, a stacked stone fireplace, wide plank pine floors, ceiling fans throughout, well-equipped open kitchen with island (microwave, garbage disposal, dishwasher, food processor, ice maker), and two tables (dining table seats 10-12; breakfast table seats 6). There is also an adjoining carpeted media room with stereo, large screen TV, DVD players, VCR, and quality surround sound system. A wireless router with high speed internet is available for use with your lap top computer.
The master bedroom on the main floor and the upper bedroom both feature king-size beds. Each bedroom has its own bath, except for the two on the upper level which share a "jack & jill" bath located between them. Two bedrooms have queen-size beds and one has a twin over full bunk bed. All five bedrooms have large closets and ample dressers. There is also a queen size inflatable bed on legs for two additional guests.
The lower level features a large game room with pool table, foosball table, another tv with DVD/VCR, wet bar, extra refrigerator with ice maker, and another deck. Throughout, the house is warmly furnished with lots of wood and country art.
Big Canoe offers the ultimate in luxurious relaxation - first class golf, nature preserve hiking, a fabulous fitness center, fine dining, tennis, boating, fishing, and more. (Read more on other Big Canoe websites.) Fees for use of the amenities are not included with the rental, but as a guest, you can use all Big Canoe amenities on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Whether you are escaping the summer heat (summer temperatures way up here average ten or more degrees below the temperatures at lower elevations in Big Canoe or Atlanta), enjoying our spectacular spring and fall weather, or cuddling up on our bright, clear winter days - every season here has its unique pleasures. |
