We were attending a family reunion and Destin's Destiny was perfect for our family. We loved having no steps, having the pool just outside in the front, plenty of parking, the beautiful architecture inside and out, the beauty, comfort and cleanliness of the house, the good supply of beach and grilling items. We do wish the first floor bedroom had a king bed and the third floor bedroom had a closet. My sister had the big house next door and the two houses were accessible in the front and back and that was nice. My brother had a house across the street on the beach, so we had access to all. We have stayed in Destin's Destiny before and hope to stay there again. Mary Rose took good care of us. I recommend this property to anyone.

Perfect Place for Family

This house has it all, great open floor plan on the main floor, wonderful spacious pool out front and a "master" bedroom on the main floor. The owners have included beautiful towels, softsoap at every sink, dishwashing detergent and every linen and small appliance needed to make one feel truly "at home" . We used this house to accommodate family members who were attending a wedding nearby and what a wonderful gathering place it was! Everyone was thrilled with the house and furnishings while enjoying their own private haven to retreat to during all the proceedings. There is ample parking for as many cars as come with the guests. The house has beautiful views of the lake in the back and the ocean in the front, and the Crab Trap is just down the street. The master suite on the second floor is quite luxurious and has a great view of the ocean out its own private balcony. We hope to stay as guests in this house sometime soon. It is such a gem, and the owner, Mary Rose, is so delightful to deal with. Do not hesitate to rent this one! It is beautiful!

We stayed at Destin's Destiny from 7/29/12 to 8/5/12 celebrating several family members' birthdays, and had a wonderful time. Other than one full day of rain, the weather was amazing and the pool was used almost non-stop. Access to the beach is an easy walk and the water is gorgeous. The house is beautiful and Mary Rose is a sweetheart to deal with.

I wish every house and every vacation held as much promise as this one. The house in of itself is very spacious and livable. In the morning a beautiful breakfast to start the activity driven day, all prepared in this well appointed kitchen. You can have 4 cooks in ithe kitchen moving around easily. After a long day it was wonderful to have the young adults all four of them go to the guest house and relax before dinner was served in the main house. We had theme night dinners and amazing coctail hours around the pool. The younger children swam in the onsite pool as we prepared dinner. Then watched the olympics on the plasma TV in the family room. The house is set up so you can be down stairs visiting or in your room upstairs and it is very quiet and private. This is the perfect set up for a family vacation. Also, Mary Rose is so accomidating. She returns phone calls and answered all our questions. She is very trust worthy. We had activities and food planned for each day. Golf, fishing, jet skies and pontoon rental, and a sea shell cruise. Thats why we loved having this great kitchen to cook in because we were tired and wanted to stay in. Also, the Crab Trap is down the street, you can walk to it if you don't want to drive somewhere for dinner. There is a sidewalk in front of the house and it's great for people watching. Not only does this house have great access to the beach, but the grocery stores also.

For our 50th wedding anniversity, we had a family reunion that included our four sons and their families. A total of 20 people. This property was just like the listing description. It was in excellent condition - recently painted and thoroughly clean through out.. Everything one could possibly need was available. Many activities were available within walking distant. The owners were extremely friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this property for an outstanding vacation.

Beach wedding Memorial Day 2012

This is a great house with a perfect location for a beach wedding! It made for a beautiful setting and fun for everyone that stayed and came to the event. Mary Rose was amazing and was there for everything we needed done. She paid extra attention to make sure the house was in great condition for our special day and we very much appreciated all her help! The master bedroom makes for beautiful 'getting ready' pictures for the bride and the dowstairs was perfect for the grooms party to hang out before the ceremony. The dining room was a beautiful nook for the wedding cake area with the vaulted cielings that you can see from the second level. It was an amazing evening made even better by a beautiful setting! i would love to come back on our anniversary and make it an annual thing!

Great time at this Vintage Home just across the street from the beach!

We recently stayed at Destin's Denstiny and had a great time. We cooked out and swam in the pool, went to the zoo and an aquarium too. My children were delighted with their rooms and we were as well. This home has a deck for the top floor, two decks at the second floor level, and the pool at the ground floor. I liked the fact that the floor in the kitchen area is all tiled and the kitchen is large for entertaining. The living room is open along with the kitchen making it great to visit with friends or watch TV while cooking. It is a great place to stay and great for groups of people. Mary was great to rent from as well. Some of the pool furniture was older but we didn't have a lot of people during our stay so it didn't affect our comfort at all. Mary said she is replacing it and I have no doubt about that, it is probably done already! She was great to rent from and we hope to return soon.

A Great Week At The Beach In Paradise With The Family!

We just got back from spending a week at Destin's Destiny. My parents and brother joined us and my teenage daugthers each brought a friend for a total of 9 people. Mary Rose was nothing short of spectacular. She was responsive to our needs, pleasant, and very much focused on ensuring we would have a great experience at Destin's Desinty for the week free of any worries. She accomplished that without a doubt. The only thing that came up was the pool had a little debris in it due to the wind. We sent a text message to Mary Rose asking if there was a pool skim net and pole at the house so we could keep the pool clean during the week if we had any more hard winds or storms. Within an hour, she had a one brought to us. The floor plan was great for our group and particularly the kitchen/ dining room/ living room area. The bedrooms were good size and the Master was great. It had a lot of room and we were very comfortable. The house had everything you needed. It was very clean and in overall good condition. The view from the balconies were great and the pool area was very enjoyable. The location was absolute perfect! Very convenient to the beach. We would definitely recommend this propertly. It was an absolute blast !

A Perfect Mother's Day Weekend

Each year near Mother's Day my brothers and I take our seven sisters out to celebrate what we call Sister's Day. This year we made it an entire weekend and Destin's Destiny made the perfect setting. The home was extremely comfortable and spacious for our group of 13. We didn’t even have to use the great space offered in the separate Carriage House. The owner, Mary Rose, went overboard to make our stay enjoyable. My sisters are still talking about the trip and the accommodations. We can't wait to get back! If you are looking for a lovely home in a great location, you have to checkout Destin's Destiny and allow the owners to show you what customer service really means. This was our best Sister's Day ever.

Perfect House for a Guy's Outing

We recently had a large group of guys stay at this house and could not have asked for a better experience. The pool area provided a perfect atmosphere for grilling out and relaxing late in the afternoon. Access to the beach and local restaurants is very convenient. We highly recommend Destin's Destiny!

We rented Destin's Destiny because we had two families coming together for the first time to participate in our wedding. It was wonderful that we were able to have everyone come together for the 5 day stay, all located at one place. The house, as one can see in the pictures, was beautiful and highly functional! While our wedding was at the beautiful beach just a short walk across the street, we had a lovely dinner reception there at Destin's Destiny, which worked out fabulously! Not only did we feel very lucky to have such a nice location for our wedding, as well as for our guests, but we were equally lucky to have such nice homeowners who volunteered advice and were available to us if and when necessary. Such a beautiful place and such a beautiful location! I would definitely recommend Destin's Destiny to my friends and loved ones!

Don't waste your money!!!

I was extremely disappointed in this house! It is in desperate need of a makeover. The pictures are VERY deceiving! The property was barely clean when we arrived. The pool was not clean and it took the pool man 2 days to get out there to clean the pool. The main level bath tub was very clogged. The dishwasher did not work properly. I had an 11 month old crawling around the entire time so I could see everything that was not cleaned up on the floor before we arrived. The carpet on the stairs is coming off resulting in exposed nails. This made it VERY unsafe for an 11 month old to climb stairs. None of the beds had mattress pads on them. I will NEVER rent from this house again and I can't believe we spent what we did on the house for a week. I hope the owners of the house read this and fix up their "Destiny" house before people rent it again. The property is NOT clean and well-maintained.

Owner response: It is unfortunate that we have to find out about the problems by reading a review of Destin's Destiny. We are not able to fix the problems for our renters if we are not given an opportunity to do so by not informing us! For every stay, we normally check our renters in and give them a chance to familiarize themselves to the features of the home and to let us know if everything is in satisfactory condition. In this particular instance, we informed the renters that we would also be away for our summer vacation but our rental manager would be available if anything came up that we would not be able to take care of from afar. We were constantly in touch with one of the party members, in fact, the one who booked the stay, and we did have to put a call out to our pool guy a few times during their stay but not once were any of the other concerns mentioned to us at the time. Again, we are not able to fix problems we do not know about. In fairness to their comments, we were not able to do our usual thorough walk-though as we were out of the country. We only wish that we are told immediately of any concerns so that we can make it right. Deceiving is not our intent, especially with pictures, and our many satisfied repeat renters can certainly vouch for that.

Recent Stay at Destin's Destiny

This is a nice property that needs some up keep and updating. The rate asked/paid is not in line with the condition of the property. The day we arrived the A/C in the carriage house was not working and later the dryer stopped working. The owner was very responsive to these issues and had the A/C fixed the following day. The owner admitted that a walkthrough had not been done since the previous tenant, which could have possibly discovered the A/C problem before we arrived. The kitchen is very nice and the beds were very comfortable with nice linens, however some of the furniture is quite worn (couches, pool furniture, etc). The yard was overgrown and the house is a bit beach worn (carpets stained, outside in need of pressure washing and maintenance). It rained a lot while we were there and the doors and windows facing the ocean leaked water into the house on several levels. The water also puddled badly in front of the carriage house and balcony entrances. Several of our guests slipped and one fell as a result. The elevator was great for older guest, once you figured out it's quirks (needed work too). The location is very good and only a short walk to the beach. The ocean views are pretty much blocked by houses on the beach and the road in front of the house stays pretty busy. The pool is not that large and was too hot to enjoy when we arrived, but the rain fixed that. Overall this house is nice, but just not worth the rate asked in my mind. We did ask for a rate reduction but it was not granted. If you’re looking for a top notch house, this is probably not it.

Owner response: A sizable rate reduction was certainly offered and granted when the house was booked for this party. All the terms are spelled out on our contract very clearly and we do try to work with our renters when they are on a budget. Event fees for weddings are waived such as in this case but any further rate reduction is not always warranted especially if the repairs are done in a very timely manner. Unfortunately, just like the weather, we cannot predict when a problem will occur but we do try to expedite resolution as we realize our renters are here to enjoy their vacation. We really do feel bad that in this case things happened in three's but, as stated, they were dealt with immediately. Regarding the pool, most people prefer it heated and it certainly feels that way during the summer, but we do not have a way to cool it down unless we ice it! The elevator is operational and we do offer to show the features of the house so our guests are able to correctly use the amenities available. We regret that the carpet was not shampooed before their check-in due to scheduling difficulties but it was done for the next set of renters. There's a one day turnaround time on Saturday and we are not always able to get our vendors out when we need them. We also explained that the French door replacement to fix the leak has been addressed, but with back to back renters during the peak summer season, it was impossible to replace but will be done as our calendar permits. It is always our desire to please our renters and feel we have done so in the past. We've had repeat renters for years and hope that an isolated event, worsened by the worst weather we've had all summer, does not dissuade any future renters to Destin's Destiny."

My family and friends rented Destin's Destiny for our wedding weekend. This house was AMAZING and is in such a convenient location to everything!! We were married on the beach across the street and walked back to the house for the inside/outside reception. It was absolutely beautiful!!! The house had all of the amenities that were listed on the website and Mary Rose was so wonderful to work with. The house was clean, comfortable and very accommodating for our needs. We would recommend this house for vacationers and also for anyone who would like to host a beautiful party/reception. The house, the location, the weather, and especially the customer service all exceeded our expectations and people are still telling us how beautiful everything turned out. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to have our wedding reception! We definitely hope to revisit Destin’s Destiny again one day in the near future!

I am a repeat visitor to Destin's Destiny and must say that the home is very nice. On each visit we had a group of 19 + (Family Reunion) and the accommodations worked out well. It rained the entire weekend, but thanks to Destiny West the a club house approximately 5 houses down the strip that had a basketball court for the teens, the adults were able to keep our sanity for the lack of beach activity. I would recommend this home to any large group that prefers separate sleeping and bath quarters. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and utensils for those wanting to prepare meals. There is also a charcoal and gas grill on site for outdoor cooking .There are many attractions nearby(shopping, amusement parks w/ adult go carts) for those needing a brake from the indoors. The owners are very friendly and only a phone call away if you need them. I would most definitely use this home again.

Such an amazing home with one of the best locations in Destin! Plenty of space with all the amentities and more! Very clean home and lots of extras on/around property to enjoy. The views from this home are amazing! The owners were fabulous to work with and so very accomodating. Great communication from the very beginning and very flexible in our stay. We enjoyed a fabulous vacation and would recommend this home to anyone!

It was a fairy tale wedding...

The wedding is over, but the news still abounds. It was a fairy tale wedding…my dream wedding, complete with a gorgeous day, butterflies, and this wonderful house. And why not? Why shouldn't dreams come true? I can’t even begin to put into words the emotions we felt on our wedding day. Seeing everyone you love come together to celebrate this moment with you, feeling their love and support, seeing them in action taking care of your every need at just the right moment, it is an amazing orchestra to witness and be the center of. It is, in fact too much at times and when words would not come to express the feelings, tears filled their place, aka, my wedding vows! I have amazing friends that helped me that week. Friends that truly commit to being there in any way needed and make you feel like you are the most important person. More importantly, Mary Rose and her husband were so kind and helpful. They made us feel like it was our home, too, complete with a bottle of white wine and the cutest family label. And, so, here I am, a married woman with the married life stretching before me. At any rate, reality tells me that I’m here with a man that has been the greatest friend and companion I’ve ever known and that he is willing to keep trodding down this life path with me. I cannot ask for more than that and God’s grace to keep us safe and happy. And last but not least, there is no other place in the world that I would have rather have my reception at than Destin’s Destiny! Thank you so much!
