Contentment on Castaic

We left Barstow the morning of March 1, after a month in Austin and another month in Sedona during our first year of being snowbirds from New Hampshire, and after breakfast in Bakersfield enjoyed a wonderful drive through the valley and mountains to Shell Beach. As we drove into this lovely little oceanside community, we said, "Wow, we're going to spend a month here!" And we were never disappointed with this best of all worlds: a beautiful seaside bluff to walk to every morning and evening (for the sunsets), a beach where our dog could run with the other dogs in the neighborhood, the mountains to view walking back from the shore, and nifty shops and restaurants on the front road. It was everything Robbin had promised it would be, and we loved her beautiful, clean, well-maintained house on Castaic. And so did our dog Cassady and cat Calli. Cassady especially loved the fenced-in front lawn where he could catch some morning rays while we enjoyed watching the neighborhood wake up during our morning coffee. At Shell Beach, we also enjoyed walking to the library, over to Zorro's for breakfast or dinner outside, to the park, and to various delis. We also highly recommend the farmers' market Thursday evenings in San Luis Obispo, the San Luis pier for seafood, Avila Beach, the food stand and petting farm on the road to Avila, the American Melodrama Theatre in Oceano, the performing arts theater at California Polytechnic, Linn's in Cabria, walking the dog on the beach from Morro Bay to Cayucos, the drive through the vineyards from Paso Robles, and exploring the coastal area from Santa Maria to Hearst Castle. Thank you so much for being such an excellent provider, Robbin. We plan on returning and hope next time to say two months. Your house on Castaic will always be one of our favorite homes away from home.

If you are looking for a three br house close to the beach, then look no further. This house has it all. And the owner is a great landlord. My wife and I stayed there for a week and had a great time. Restaurants were as varied as you could ask for. Great house in a great area - what more could you ask for?

Your Home was Perfect!

Your home was so comfortable. There wasn't anything we needed, it was all there. Your place was fully furnished and stocked with every kitchen utensil. The view from the cliffs was breathtaking. We love that we could walk to the nearby restaurants and to the ocean. Your neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Each room had a ceiling fan which was a real plus on the warm sunny days. The floor plan of the house made it very comfortable. My two grandsons played video games on the TV in the den while we watched the TV in the living room. The house easily accommodated 4 adults and 2 children. We all had enough space to relax. The backyard deck was a great gathering place. Again, we thank you. We will always recommend your beach house. Thank you so much for your vacation rental. We had an amazing time and the house was perfect.

Our visit in Shell Beach was wonderful! Awesome weather, house worked very well. We slept well, ate well, visited and walked around the charming neighborhood. Enjoyed the coffee roasting place up the way but ate all our meals at the house. A nicely equipped kitchen worked very well. I even roasted a locally grown pumpkin from Oregon and made a pie. Friends of ours driving up from Sherman Oaks to San Francisco stopped by and loved the place for their family. We have rented other places and always been pretty happy, but this worked for our crowd very well. Thanks again for sharing your place!

The kitchen had everything we needed as we made breakfast and some dinners. So much better than a motel room. I will tell my friends and family! A Great Vacation Beach Home

My family and I stayed at this beautiful beach house recently and really loved it! The house was clean, nicely decorated, and inviting. We enjoyed a BBQ dinner out in the nice backyard deck. The house is located in a nice neighborhood, and is just a quick walk to the beach. The owner, Robbin, is very pleasant. She responded promptly to all of our inquiries about the place and returned our deposit check promptly. Our family absolutely had a great time staying at this beautiful home during our mini vacation. We definitely will stay here again when we return to visit Pismo Beach. We also have recommended this home to all our friends and family. Thank you so much, Robbin!

Great place

This Shell Beach home was perfect for all my needs. I needed space to get ready for my wedding. The kitchen was big enough to prep salads for the reception and make a big breakfast in the morning.This house is very clean with nice, comfortable funiture. The layout is a little different. You have to go through one of the bedrooms to get to the back bedroom. The back bedroom has the half bath in it. The back room also has a door out to the back yard, which is also very nice. Lot's of great places within walking distance, like a grocery store, a liquor store with an awesome Deli (the owner is very helpful & friendly), local coffee shop, Old Vienna (German resturant) that has great food and a band just about every friday night, and every night during October fest. Robbin, the owner, was very helpful and easy to reach. She returned my deposit very quickly. The price was beyond resonable. Everyone in my group was very happy with this place. I would definitely like to stay there again.

My family and I have stayed at this beach house 3 times now and everytime it has been one of the best vacations. The house is comfortable and clean and easy to live in. The kitchen is well-appointed with plenty of dishes, easy to use appliances and large enough to accomodate small gatherings. The family room is comfortable and cozy yet spacious enough to allow guests to spread out for family movie night. The beds are comfortable with clean linens every time. We often cook out on the back patio even though there are very good restaurants within walking distance. We always enjoy our time there and look forward to going back every time.

Beautiful home in Shell Beach!

We stayed in the Shell Beach house for 1 week (mid-June 2008) and loved it. It was very clean and really nicely decorated. It's location is perfect, on a quiet street where the end of the street is the ocean. There are many beaches nearby in a very short walking distance and that whole area is very nice for jogging along the cliffs. The kitchen was well stocked- we had multiple BBQ dinners and had everything we needed to cook dinner at home. The owner is very helpful and always returned my emails very quickly. She sent us the keys before our stay so we could let ourselves in when we arrived. Also, she returned our deposit very quickly. We felt very lucky to be staying at this beautiful house for the week of my sister's gradution from Cal Poly. We will likely return again when we want to visit the area. The cost was very reasonable, especially for such a beautiful property and area. Thanks again Robbin! Jenny
