Flamingo Cottage 50 Yards to Private Beach/Gated/Pool/Garage

  Our family stayed in Flamingo Cottage for three months during the snowbird season. Flamingo Cottage is located in a small gated community perched on the bluffs of Old Florida Beach. The community is quiet and very relaxing. During our three month stay it was just very peaceful and the few permanent neighbors are very sweet. The home has a nice layout, with the majority of the bedrooms located on the first floor. The second master is right off the kitchen on the second floor, which also contains the dining room and living room. The third floor (my favorite) is the tower off/bedroom which has panoramic views of the neighborhood and the Gulf. The house probably sleeps 15 comfortably, although it was just the two of us and our two kids. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. The kitchen is stocked for a lot of guests, plenty of everything if you're the self-catering type. The beach (which is amazing) is literally a five minute walk while the community pool is steps out the back door. Gulf Place is a short walk up 30-A and has several very good restaurants and shops. Goatfeathers is right up the road (perhaps 10 minutes from the front door) and has one of the best fish markets in the area. We *really* enjoyed our evening walks down to Goatfeathers with the kids, purchasing whatever came in fresh that day and strolling back to cook a leisurely dinner. A great experience, so good in fact we decided to stay in the area :)

  My extended family and I stayed at Flamingo Cottage recently and really enjoyed our stay. Although a storm had passed nearby only a day or two before, the weather was gorgeos and the water/beach perfect. The listing and description of the cottage was right on. It's a beautifully decorated house in a secluded/gated area in one of the most popular areas of Florida. The house and property were well maintained and clean. The amenities were excelent. The owner, John, was personable and helpful during and after making arrangements with him. I highly recommend this property for a beach getaway.

  We had a wonderful week at the Flamingo. It is a huge home with lots of sleeping room and spacious sleeping quarters for privacy. We loved the few steps to the pool and the most beautiful beach in the Gulf of Mexico. The area is so convenient to any shopping you would need, including the outlet malls of Destin. You are just down the road from Sea Side which we always have to go and visit while in Destin. The outdoor movie and ice cream was awesome! Needless to say, we had a blast and can't wait until the next time we can head to Destin!!! Don't hesitate to go to the website and view the photos. They are exactly what you will see when you enter the Flamingo. All the appliances are up to date and some of the furniture has also recently been updated. A key point that I would also like to add is the owner of the Flamingo was great to work with and will answer any questions regarding the Flamingo. If you love the Destin area, you will love The Flamingo! Happy Vacation!

  Thank you to John and his family for sharing their beautiful home!! We had a terrific time and enjoyed how very close to the beach we were. It was also perfect that the pool was visible from the deck of this home. We had 3 families (6 adults, and 10 kids) and this home accommodated everyone very well!!! I would recommend this home to anyone.

  The house was beautiful and in a wonderful area close enough to anything you desire to do. Santa Rosa Beach area is beautiful and is much less "commercialized" which made it more relaxing. We do wish we could have seen the beach from the house...it was further from the beach than we realized but was very close to the pool area which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The owner is very helpful and concerned that all is like it should be at the house for you to have a wonderful, relaxing vacation and the price is right.

  This cottage was beautiful....very beachy feel and location was excellent...The surf was rather rough so it was so nice to have the pool so close...30A is a lot of fun, we rode bikes every day.I would definitely recommend this quaint beach community to anyone looking for a nice place with great ammenities close by..The food at the redbar was amazing and gulfplace had a nice turtle festival that the grandkids enjoyed very much. We will definitely be coming back...this is by far the best place we have stayed...

  Our experience at Flamingo Cottage was absolutely first rate. House is beautiful and well-equipped and a very short walk to the most awesome beach. Owners were immediately available by phone for 1 small maintenence issue. Would highly recommend and will definitely rent again in the future.

  Dear Martins, Flamingo Cottage is a beautiful home. The home was illuminated with such bright beachy colored walls and decor. Flamingo Cottage was large enough for our family to have a reunion and it accommodated 16 just fine. The home has beautiful ocean views from the second and third floors and also gives you views of Draper Lake from within the home and from the balconies. Since the water was a little cool in December, the kids enjoyed fishing in Draper Lake from the docks. The home was well designed for parking which included two Suburbans in the garage and and four more regular sized cars in the driveway and the parking pad. The pool was wonderful and located directly out the back porch connecting to the property so you can see the kids swimming from the home. The entire community was safe for the kids to ride their bikes and play on the skateboards. The walk to the top of the beach was only 50 yards from the home which was big plus for our older family members. We had a wonderful time at your home and will be back, hopefully for the Summer so we can enjoy the beaches with a little warmer water. Thanks again for a wonderful time! The Sanders
