  We stayed at this lovely apartment for a week and it was more than we had hoped for. Wes & Mary were very gracious and friendly hosts. We had our young (2 yo) grand-daughter over every day and the apartment was perfect for her. Mary gave us a high chair to use, the living room was very child friendly (nothing for her to break) and there was an enclosed patio for her to run around in. The bedroom was spacious and sunny as was the living room. Everything you can imagine was furnished - towels, linens, toiletries, Wi-Fi internet, videos, plenty of seating, breakfast cereal & milk, spices, cooking oil, salt, pepper, sugar, cookies, all the cooking & eating utensils you would ever need, microwave, toaster, dish washing soap and some beer and wine! In other words, we just had to bring our clothes and it was like being at home. And, there is a very well stocked grocery store a half a block away and a bus stop is only four blocks away. (We took the bus into Santa Monica a couple of days - it is very easy to use.) We would highly recommend this apartment. It is a great value. Finally, the weather is always pleasant - warm days and cool nights - who could ask for more?

  Nous avons adoré notre appartement: situé dans un très beau quartier calme,supermarché à deux pas de l'appartement, terrasse aménagé et une si belle côte pacifique à quelques pas de là; nos enfants ont été ravis; beaucoup d'espace, très bien aménagé, complet, jusqu'aux chaises de plage, parasol et jouets pour enfants ... Et de surcroît des propriétaires soucieux du confort de leurs hôtes. Prix plus que raisonnable pour ce quartier très prisé de Los Angeles. Bref, que du bien pour le professionnalisme de Mary et son mari. Thank you so much for everything; we felt like at home and really appreciated your professionalism.   Wir haben eine wunderschöne Woche in dieser Ferienwohnung verbracht. Schon vorab war der E-mail Kontakt mit Mary sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir wurden von Mary und Weston mit frischem Obst und weiteren Einkäufen empfangen, so daß wir für den ersten Tag schon versorgt waren. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet und man hat alles, was man für das tägliche Leben braucht. In der Wohnung ist eine Mappe mit Infomaterial über die Gegend, Restaurants und Busfahrpläne, so daß man über alles gleich gut informiert ist. Wir danken Mary und Weston für ihre Mühe und senden ganz liebe Grüße. thank you Birgit, Manfred und Mats

  My family just finished a fantastic week in this fatastic property in the Pacific Palisades. As advertised, the unit is extremely close to wonderful restaurants, grocery stores, and recreation activities (beach/mountains/playground). My children and I were made to feel extremely welcome by the owners. They provided us with a lot of guidance on features of the property, welcomed us to eat from their organge tree, and provided us with lots of beach accessories (towels/chairs/toys). The property was extremely clean and had everything needed for a successful vacation. I strongly recommend this property and will certainly come back for another visit!

  Our stay at this apartment couldn't have been better! It is located in a lovely neighbourhood, which is quiet, peaceful and with loads of places to have a nice walk to. The photos and description on the website don't do it justice. The apartment is styled in retro chic and is full of homley character. There is everything you could ask for and more - from washing up liquid to laundry detergent and from aluminum foil to a sewing kit! Wow - you wouldn't get that sort of attention to detail in a high priced hotel! The owners are lovely and most welcoming. They left a vase of fresh daffodils to welcome us and a welcome pack of all the essentials and more - fresh fruit, cookies, milk, butter, cereal, bread etc. I have never received such a welcome in any of our previous rental properties. The bed is so comfortable and the apartment is warm and cosy. Theres a tv to watch from the comfort of your own bed and high speed internet access. this was great as we could e-mail our friends back home in the UK and check out places to visit etc. Just perfect for a restful vacation. You are located near to all major routes and we found it easy to travel to all the places we wanted to go Pasadena, Camarillo and loads more. It is a beautiful walk down to the beach and the scenery nearby is wonderful too. Make sure you visit Lenny's Deli for breakfast as it is amazing and good value too. We ate there most days and in between purchased things from Gelsons, which is handily placed just around the corner. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone and I shall doing just that to friends and family on our return. I am sure we will be booking a return visit as soon as we can. The whole booking process was simple and the owners answered any questions quickly and fully. As I said before it is an amazing place, owned by lovely friendly people and I can only advise you to take very little notice of the previous negative review and try this piece of heaven for yourselves. You will not be disappointed! Thanks for your hospitality and your wonderful apartment.

  Owner response: In addition to easy access to main thoroughfares for travel by car, Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica can be reached by the number nine bus one block from our property. In fifteen minutes you are dropped at Fourth St. and Santa Monica Blvd. in front of Gap, Lululemon, REI, Santa Monica Place Mall, Apple Store, and a dozen first run movie theaters. No parking hassles along with a sightseeing tour of multi-million dollar residences there and back at a cost of one dollar each way (.50c for seniors).

  I would highly recommend this apartment. It has a spacious feel, is tastefully decorated, and is very well-equipped and comfortable. My husband and I brought our 6-month old baby along and the charming owners were very helpful in providing a cot, highchair, walker, change mat and floor playmats for our use - this was beyond what we expected and was much appreciated. The apartment is in a safe, attractive area and is a short stroll into Palisades village where there are high quality cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops. We love running and hiking, and the location couldn't have been better for both because Temescal Canyon Park is a couple of blocks away (beautiful views over the city and ocean), and the beach is only a short run/walk away. We also found that the proximity to the Pacific Coast Highway was perfect for traffic-free drives up to Malibu and the Santa Barbara wine region, as well as an easy trip into the rest of the city itself. All in all, a great apartment in an excellent location, run by helpful and friendly owners who are more than willing to share their local knowledge. .

  We had such a wonderful stay! We needed a place with some room to entertain our grandchildren and this apartment was perfect! A nice size living room and bedroom with a very comfortable bed which was great for relaxing afternoon naps with beautiful ocean breezes. We would wake up each morning, brew a pot of coffee, and walk down to the Palisades bluffs over looking the ocean. Everything was in walking distance, the grocery store, Starbucks, and all sorts of wonderful little shops in the Village. Traveling in from 30 inches of snow in Connecticut this place was truly a breath of fresh warm air!

  My wife and I have stayed with Paliguest twice and will return often to visit family in the area. We've stayed in both apartments and couldn't be happier. The property is very well maintained and located just a few steps from Pacific Palisades' shopping and restaurant area. We love to take morning walks through the neighborhood to the top of the palisades for a panoramic view of the beach stretching from Malibu down past Santa Monica. Hiking trails in Temescal Canyon begin a couple blocks away. Both apartments are unique, comfortable, clean and fully equiped. We definitely recommend Paliguest.

  I found the apartment to be clean and well maintained, the photos accurate and the owner was helpful. However the stone floors in bedroom were icy cold. Most important, the bed mattress was old and sagging. Decor and age of apartment around 40+ years. Up many steps, difficult for luggage transfer and older folks. Parking sometimes impossible. After 5 e-mails confirming rental on a more desirable apartment, owner cancelled at last minute and put me into this unit. It was too late to go elsewhere.

  Owner response: VRBO.COM/71406 was fully renovated with new fridge, stove, floors, toilet fixtures and decorations in 2004. The overall decorative scheme is deliberately "retro." The apartment is repainted on a regular basis and the linens, area rugs and other heavily used items are replaced regularly. We have had dozens upon dozens of guests and not one before this has commented unfavorably about the quality or condition of the bed or bedding, nor has any prior guest notified us that the floor was cold. Most of our guests are repeat visitors who book four to six months in advance of proposed arrival, which speaks volumes about the overall quality, condition and desireability of our property.   We could HIGHLY recommend the apartment. We spent two weeks in the beautiful apartment near Santa Monica. From the first moment we feel at home. In the apartment you have all you need. The kitchen was completely equipped. Beside the normally towels you will find beach towels as well. Our hostess (Mary) has brought a little food and a bottle of wine.And if your own clothes get dirty, no problem there are a washing machine and a dryer.At the terrace in front of the apartment we enjoy the breakfast in the sun. A TV with DVD player, internet access and a radio are present.
