Beautiful Maui Vacation

Just returned from Maui. The condo has a great location. Believe me, you cannot get any closer to the ocean unless you were in it and I don't think you will find a better view of the surroundings anywhere on the island from the wraparound lanai. Being up four floors gave you the advantage of seeing what was in the ocean. The turtles visited us everyday. The views of the ocean and two nearby islands are terrific. We had heard there would not be many whales around in the middle of April but we saw them at a distance almost everyday. The pool was very nice and not to crowded with lots of chairs and tables. There was lots of flowers and greenery aroud the pool with palm and banana trees. There were some lime trees with plenty of fruit on them for the picking to use in your tropical drinks and (Canadian Caesars). A small beach was about 50 yards away. There was no beach directly in front of the condo which was even better because this gave you all the privacy you needed while sitting out on the lanai. This is not a party place. It was nice and quiet during the night and day. The sound of the ocean helped you sleep at night. There is no need for air conditioning as it cools down at night and there is always a breeze. There is lots to do on the island. We went ziplining in Kapalua and went to Lahaina ten minutes away for the Old Lahaina Luau which is a great way to sample the island food and see a great history of Hawaii through storytelling and dance. A great way to see the rest of the island is to rent a car and just drive for it is a small island. If you are interested in a relaxing vacation or sightseeing, this condo and the beautiful isand of Maui is for you.

Wow! What a wonderful piece of paradise!

Upon arriving everything was exactly as stated! More then we could ask for and the view is to die for!!! This condo makes you feel like your almost alone on the island because it is so secluded from the rest being on the corner. The turtles, the whales, the roar of the ocean. My biggest problem was getting hubby off the lani to go anywhere (lol)! We watched whales and I mean whales daily and so enjoyed the whole experience! I would highly recommend this wonderful condo to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the beauty of Maui!

It Doesn't Get Any Better

The view that is!!!! Fantastic location hanging out over the water, exactly as pictured. There were turtles right below us every day that we were there, one day there were 7 adults and a baby! Stunning views! Beautiful kitchen, fully stocked with everything you need to cook. Nice bathrooms and cumfy beds. Clean and well supplied for your comfort. Great tv and electronics. The building has a nice laundry room too. Note: There is no air conditioning, the nights were a little warm for sleeping. And there is no beach in front of the property, however I would take the turtle rich reef over a beach, but my 20 year old son would have preferred some beach. We would go back there in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. The location and views are unbeatable! We also highly recommend Blue Hawaiin Helicopters and Kapalua Adventures Zipline. Aloha!

Little Piece of heaven in Maui!!

Just couldn't get any better!!! Absolutely amazing views!!! This was our first time to Hawaii. We went with our daughters and grandson to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We were not disappointed to say the least! The condo is literally right over the water, and it has a large perfectly placed Lanai/deck, which was definitely our favorite place to be at the condo!! We loved spending every possible moment out there eating, relaxing,and watching the many wonderful sea turtles every afternoon right below us! What a treat!!! The condo area has a quiet relaxing atmosphere, nice clean little pool, beautiful kept grounds, great kitchen and amenities! Di made it all very easy gaining access to the condo, great directions, parking etc. It is an excellent location, close to so many things!!! There was good snorkeling right in front of the condo! We loved every minute there, no one wanted to leave! We would most definitely stay here again!! Thank you Di and Ken for sharing your little piece of heaven in Maui, and for making our anniversary amazing!!! Dana & Scott

What a fabulous place to stay!! Beautiful view of sunsets every night and watching the turtles was a delight. The condo is as close to the water as you can get. Best spot of the complex! The condo is will stocked with dishes and amenities. The swimming pool is clean and easy to get to. Da grill at the pool side was fun to use. I will be sure to stay here again if we come back to Maui :) Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us!

Our New Home Away From Home

We stayed here in 2008 for our wedding anniversary. Came with two kids and left pregnant with baby #3 Best place we have stayed on Maui and we have stayed in a lot of condos and hotels. This is our new home away from home. We will not stay anywhere else!! Where else can you fish in your jammies off your own lani. Sea turtles to greet you every morning and evening......and lets not forget those beautiful dolphins popping up! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! Looking forward to coming back in 2011 with our newest addition to our family!! :) Many happy memories here!

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! BEST PLACE ON MAUI !!! We can't say it any better than what others have said. This was our 50th State to see and Maui did not disappoint us. Staying at your gorgeous and comfy condo made it even better than expected and we are already making plans to return. We went on an all-day snorkeling cruise and saw no turtles; but swam with them on a daily basis right at your condo. That was a "first" for us. While on Maui, we found the best place for sunset dinners - unobstructed views, no dinner waiting line, dinner any time, mixed with tropical breezes - yes, YOUR condo! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES !!! Dear Di and Ken, When we found your condo on VRBO we knew we had found the perfect retreat. Still, we had no idea that we were headed for the vacation of a lifetime. When we arrived we were delighted to discover that both your condo and the view from the lanai were even more beautiful than the photos. We hadn't even been on site ten minutes when I saw my first whale breaching. Every morning we watched sea turtles swimming right below us as we drank coffee and ate breakfast from the lanai. Every evening we sat and watched the whales playing right offshore. At night, the sound of the surf lulled us to sleep. We found peace, hope , healing. We laughed together as we hadn't laughed in a long time. We were delighted with all of your special touches. The closet full of everything we could possibly need, from sand chairs to snorkel equipment to boogie boards, the soft fluffy towels, the well-equipped kitchen and the great binoculars for watching the whales. And, your incredible remodeling job, comfy yet elegant, warm and inviting. Everything was as perfect as it could be. Though we went on to do other things on our trip, your condo was the highlight of our vacation. Each day we went out and did things, but by noon or so a vote among the troops showed that all anyone wanted to do was return to the condo and relax on the lanai. In reality, it is impossible to truly thank you for everything you have given us. Mahalo!

Hi Ken & Di, We meant to write in the guestbook in the room, but it totally slipped our minds. We just want to say thank you for everything, especially the champagne and flowers. The condo is beautiful...it had everything we needed. We had a lizard visitor for a few days, so we weren't alone. We ran into a few people that live in Hale Ono Loa and they said we had the best unit in the building. Without even seeing another unit, we totally agree. We will definitely recommend it to people that might visit Maui. Once again, thanks for everything...we had a blast! We hope to come back.

Just got back after 10 days there #409. 409 is best location / view of all the units - 4th floor right over the water. AWESOME. Hale Ono Loa is not the Ritz by any means but the location is good halfway between Kapalua and Lahaina. Each unit will be completely different depending on the owner. The building is a bit tired overall but serviceable and if your unit is upgraded it can be a very nice experience- ours was great. The management company of Chase'n'Rainbows managed our unit and they were fantastic. There is a manager on duty- a gas fired grill outside ot BBQ (go early or late to miss the crowd). Folks staying there are traveling as couples or with some kids. Pretty quiet all in all and folks keep tothemselves. There is no beachfront (in winter) here only a sea wall and it is not real easy(in winter) to get in the ocean here. The pool is sparsely attended and there is a good observation/ sun deck to watch the whales and sea turtles in the surf - look close for turtles- TAKE BINOCULARS! Especially if you are there December to April.

During the day whales, turtles and bright blue fish, even a few dolphins in the distance. At night the white foam of the waves, cresent moon on the water and well lit cruise ships! Once we learned everyone was ok, our vacation started-We were here with our collega aged kids and loved the plase--Lisa and I renewed our vows (the kids and I surprised her), we had some unforgetable meals on the lanai, say the whales doing their thing out the window, sailed, hiked, boogie boards, turtles-It was wonderful to come back to "409" at the end of each day-Nice work! Rating 5 out of 5 (from Hawaiian Beach Rentals unsolicited review) This is a gorgeous unit in a perfect location. How could we beat walking in on our first day to see the vast blue Pacific Moloka'i and Lana'i framed in the windows and sliding glass doors? The mirrors everywhere to reflect the view are a wonderful touch. We rarely used the a/c in the bedroom. There's a lovely cross breeze and the fans keep the unit plenty cool. The unit is well-appointed with plenty of towels (even for daily water sports!) and every cooking and eating utensil one could need. Every vacation need has been considered. We were initially a little disturbed about having to leave the unit our last full day there so that workmen could take the morning to replace the lanai railing (it would have been nice to have had more than two day's warning), but we ended up having a terrific time hiking the Four Falls "trail" on the Hana Highway. We will most definitely ask for this unit when we return to Maui.
