Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
I am an Orlando Home Healthcare provider and have lived in the area for the last 20 years . I love to fish, swim and surf . I travel alot and would not trade this beach for all the others i've been to.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
I use the house as a get away for me and my wife when its not being used.. A great place to relax and unwind. Since its beach front you have a GREAT view.
The Unique Benefits of this House
I love to walk on the beach at sunrise and relax on the deck looking at a 180 degree view of the ocean.. I occassionally surf when the waves are nice and love to swim and boogyboard too. Fishing is also great from the shore.. You catch everything from jack , reds and blues.. Extremely relaxing and a place to get away from it all.. Lots of restaurants within minutes and can get to all the action spots in Daytona in about 10.

My family and I enjoyed our stay and the accommodations were comfortable and affordable.. The property sits right on a great public beach and the life guard was a great plus since I have two children.. The deck was the best view in town and it was great to cook or barbecue and eat staring out into the blue water.. The neighborhood is quite and frequently patrolled.. I highly recommend this place, especially if you have children.. Amy

My wife and I and our 4 kids stayed here for a week Summer 2010, While we did have plenty of sleeping room, the main problem is NO LOCK ON THE MASTER BEDROOM DOOR!! It has a pocket door. The 1/4 bath is misrepresented as it is simply an outside shower. The porch shared with the hot tub has the most uncomfortable seating. A concrete 1970's table and bench? Where are the rocking chairs and adequate seating? The upper deck was very nice but it would have been nice to have an umbrella provided by the owner as it is not bearable on a hot day after about 10 minutes or so. The living room did not cool well in my opinion on 90 degree days. The beds were comfortable. Having only one bathroom was less than desired with 6 people sharing. This house needs its own "beach access". The only way to haul all your beach gear down to the beach is to walk through the front (streetside) of the house and enter the side public access along with 100's of other people! The "kitchen table" seats two and an old card table is offered in the living room to whomever wants to sit down and eat a meal. The beds were comfortable but the blinds in the master bedroom were old, broken and did not provide adequate sun block in the bedroom. We traveled all the way from NC and were somewhat dissapointed during our stay. The hot tub is great and the best thing about the house outside and the pool table is the best thing about the inside. This house is ideal for an older couple. We will vacation at our own beaches from now on.
Owner response:This individual was fully informed as to what the home had... If you take a look at the listing, it indicates 1/4 bath ( they could have asked me about what a 1/4 bath was ) They could have also asked if there was a lock on the master door.. Not satisfied with a concrete table . card table .. needs own beach access ? These people obviously expect a Hyatt Regency at $ 185 per day... and to BEACHFRONT ! Definetly NOT a fair assesment. Please refer to past references from reasonable people..

Not what we expected for the price

The only part of this house that we enjoyed was the upper deck and the fact that it was on the beach. Floors were dirty, we had to buy a mop and clean house when we got there. Had a problem with red ants in the kitchen and found several dead cockroaches upon arrival. We had to leave unexpectedly 3 days early due to a family emergency. We didn't inquire about a refund, but it would have been a nice gesture from the owner considering the circumstances. Just not what we expected for the price we paid.
Owner response:I do NOT agree with these peoples assesment of the property ..The house is professionaly cleaned at EVERY opportunity..The name of the agency is Crystals Angels .. They have been doing a great job and thoroughly clean everything ( including floors )..Had these people called me, I would have sent somebody to reclean. I take great pride in renting out this beach house.. I personally greet everyone and do a quick orientation on the house .. I give them my personal phone number and tell them to contact me if they need anything! Obviously expecting a refund and I would have given one if there was a legitimate problem.. It would have been a nice gesture if these peopel communicated their concerns I would have been there in a heart beat..

We wanted a small beachfront private home in the less congested area surrounding Daytona Beach and this home really delivered at an excellent value. This 2 bedroom home was just right for married couple and 2 young teenage girls. We could have housed more on the futon sofas, but that would have put a real strain on bathroom access. On the plus side--the beach is your backyard, covered parking, extremely clean, convenient to dining, shopping and entertainment, wi-fi and cable TV, washer and dryer, pool table, hot tub. Negatives--only 1 bathroom with a toilet, as the 1/4 bath is actually an outdoor shower. A/C was not able to cool living room/den space effectively on 90+ degree days, but bedrooms always comfortable. Owner was friendly, helpful and unintrusive. Listing and pictures are as represented. In summary, we would recommend to friends or relatives who are looking for clean, convenient, casual location for a small family.

You would do very well to consider this rental, while small in size, a huge possibilty for a fantastic holiday, we would know. We spent the last three days of a 21 inch rain event at this place I can humbly now call my "beach house" and by the way I grew up in Miami. The pictures are a bit decieving, they do not show the safety of the lifeguard positioned right in front of the house, or the ambiance of the upper deck on an evening night,or the community of locals who fish, surf, and relax right in your view as you and treat you as a next door neighbor as you relax in the awesome hot tub. This is my new vacation home because of the owner and his son , Evan, there are so accomodating , polite, and courteous, while allowing us the personal freedom to enjoy our holiday, Evan directed us through flooded roads that were closed using LEGAL back roads and awaited us while we bought grocercries before we ventured in. Folks we are taught that you cannot judge a book by it's cover, there are not enough pictures that can properly protrait what this home did for us in three days when the weather was less than desired, however as many things in life , on our last day the sun arose. Totally awesome, absolutely, and then a phone messssage from the owner , Paul, explaining he was sorry that the weather wasn't well, and offered us to stay an extra couple of hours to enjoy the sun! That my friends meant so much to me and my family. Bottom line, I requested that Paul retain my deposit for our return to our new family "beach house" , not sure when but we SHALL return, Larry Z

I stayed in the beach house with 3 friends from May 14th until May 18th 2009 for the long weekend. I was very impressed when we arrived. The house is as "on the beach" as a beach house can get. The beach is extremely wide - I'd say a good 200 feet of sand until the waterline. The sand in the water is nice - no seaweed, rock or muck. I brought water shoes to be safe, but didn't end up wearing them because there was no need. There is a lifeguard tower right in front which is a reassuring for those that are not as strong swimmers, or that have less experience swimming in the ocean. Paul (the owner) was nice, gave us a quick tour and some recommendations for restaurants and attractions in the area. Overall I strongly recommend the house to anyone looking for a private and very beautiful beachfront rental.

We loved staying here. We stayed in June 2008 for a week. The location is great. Right on a beautiful beach that was not crowded and close to everything, restaurants, shops, etc. We would definately stay here again. Our deposit was returned to us in a timely manner. Thanks Paul

We had a group stay there over Memorial Day weekend from Friday till Monday. This place was above and beyond what we were looking for in a Beach House. The Owner was courteous and very welcoming. The house was very clean and you can tell that it is well kept. The place is amazing. We are already trying to plan another trip to this house. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!! :) When you close your eyes and think about what a beach house should be like, you are picturing THIS house. :) Thanks again Paul, for everything. You rock man!

We stayed at the house for 8 nights over Easter break and loved every bit of it. It was clean, welcoming and on a section of the beach that invites families and friends to enjoy the excitement of the beach and the peacefulness of the ocean. The sunrise was beautiful everyday. We slept great on very comfortable beds, and lived the week without any inconveniences. Near some great restaurants and shops. We highly suggest this location to anyone. You won't regret it.

We stayed at the house over Bike Week 2008 and it was Great. The location was perfect, the house was as advertised, very comfortable, clean and ready for us when we arrived. The Owner met us there and reveiwed everything and the week went off without a flaw. Definately will look at returning next year for Bike Week again.
