Location: Mendocino, North Coast, California, USA (35 miles east of Mendocino Village - 10 west of Ukiah)

Our spectacular Ranch Land and house is an extremely private oasis located just 2 hours from the Golden Gate Bridge. From the house you have beautiful views in every direction of the surrounding valley, meadows and coast and yet you can not spot another house in any direction. The house is a large steel building that has been converted to a modern residence. The climate is perfect, often with a slight breeze from the coast but with warm summer evenings. When there is costal fog is sits below your view in the valleys.

Let your dogs run free, hike around the land, or relax in the hot tub. We are located just 1 mile from the rustic and historic Orr Springs Hot Springs where you can also spend the day, 1 mile further is a Redwood Grove with wonderful hiking. Orr Springs Road (which we are located on) is also a great road biking road.

The house has three bedrooms on two levels, and a large open dining/living/kitchen area with 20 ft. ceilings. There is a huge open area in the house with 20 ft. ceilings and a concrete floor ideal for use as an art studio, yoga, or to show film on the large open wall.

The property feels very remote and though only 20 minutes from Ukiah, with restaurants and shopping.

  • we had a blast at orr springs ranch. the setting is awesomely beautiful. we sketched trees, the landscape and the odd expired bug in the yard. our dog was free to roam around in the large fenced area surrounding the house. we explored all over the large ranch and spied on a few dozen wild turkeys who were laying low during the roasting season. we set up a slalom course for scooters and skateboards in the big open warehouse space on the rainy days. i cooked a great thanksgiving feast on the 6 burner range and the owners accommodated us by supplying extra small appliances. of course we spent plenty of time in the hot tub enjoying the view and took a day trip to mendocino. best of all, though, is the style and aesthetic of the house. it's modern and utilitarian and a welcome change from the country quilts and plaid couches we find at so many vacation rentals. we'll be back. the wallthouses

  • The Orr Springs Ranch is a wonderful getaway! My entire family had a great time in this unique home. I loved waking and seeing the fog move through the valleys surrounding the home in the morning and the sunsets at night were awesome too! There are nice little hikes right from the home and beautiful walks through the Redwoods just a short drive away. The whole home is toddler friendly (I’ve spent time in other rentals just worried about what things my little one might break) even the stairs are easy to negotiate. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and you can bet we’ll come back too! Thank you! The Young Family
