Fully-remodeled home! Updated furnishings, appliances, and fixtures. This is a beautiful home located just a short walk from the beach on a private road with no streets to cross and has gulf views! It is a spacious, four-bedroom, three-bath house with a surround sound system inside and out! Each room has cable TVs with DVDs and a VCR. The Master has a 42 in Flat Screen. The second bed room has a new 32 inch flat screen as well.This home also features digital cable service with expanded channels plus HBO,Show Time and Stars.

When returning from the beach take a dip in the large, private, 16-foot by 32-foot pool or take an outside shower and enjoy the large wraparound deck upstairs or the downstairs deck/dance floor for additional fun and entertainment. The large gas grill, Bistro tables, swivel chairs, and chaise lounges add to your comfort. In the mood to shop? Silver Sands outlet mall is within walking distance. It also features full court basketball with adjustable goals. NO PETS!

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We chose Destin because we both had heard so many good things about the area and were looking to buy a beach house in the Fort Lauderdale area but everything was so expensive- a million plus just for the dirt. We researched for months on the internet and stumbled across Summerwind and had the vision to understand the potential about the location. Everything worked out great. My bride and I make a great team!
The Unique Benefits at this House
The house and the area are private and peaceful. There are only 15 houses on the street and it dead ends into the gulf so there is not much traffic. We designed an over-sized wrap around deck that gives us plenty of room to grill and relax. The private pool and basketball court are fun and can be competitive. Upstairs is separated from the down stairs so it gives people the needed privacy when vacationing with multiple families or friends. Plus some people have small children or babies that need to go down for naps so it provides the benefit of a quiet place to go. Access to the beach is easy and moving back and forth from the beach to the pool is quite convenient. Shopping for groceries or anything else someone might need are with in a mile of the house. We like this end of the beach because there is not as much traffic on the roads or the beaches. Once you have your groceries you never have to leave the complex. We have several families that come back every year. We love it in Destin and you will too.

We have six children and live in Texas. We love to go to the beach and I bought the house for my bride's 40th birthday. We gutted the house down to the studs and completely remodeled it. I decided to start renting the house to make up for some of the monthly expenses and it turned into a great small business. We decided to expand in 2005 and bought another house in Panama City Beach and renovated that as well. Both house have been a wonderful blessing for us. We are looking at buying another house in 2012.

I went with some friends just over a year ago, and we are planning on coming back! We had so much fun and the house fit 11 of us very comfortably. The pool is nice, the beach is close, and the price was great!

Summerwind was a great find for our famly. I think we could have stayed there without a car. Winn Dixie is just a block away. The outlet mall is accross the top of the street . Our morning walk included a stop at Starbucks and then on to the sugar white sand. It was great to grill out on the deck and have the private pool, after a morning at the beach. The basketball court and the sport bottom heated pool, provided great recreation. When we did go out, Destin Commons and the Sandestin shops and restaurants were minutes away. The layout of the house provided privacy for my inlaws and our oldest son's family of four. Each age group was comfortable. The little ones enjoyed the sand under the deck and the collection of beach toys. The owners are easy to work with and the house is well kept. We look forward to returning in 2012. House is in an OK location in proximity to downtown Destin, but great for walking to the beach . Pretty far from the good spots in Destin, especially in traffic. House is much smaller than in the pictures. The mattresses are hard, especially the bunk beds. A/C does not get cold so if you go in the summer don't expect to cool down much inside. All in All to pricey for what you get as there is much better for the price.
Owner response:I wish they had let us know about this during the week of their stay. We checked on them twice and they said they were having a great time and loved the house and the location. We stayed there the week before and it was as good as it gets. We put a brand new AC unit in May 2011. I will have to try the bunk beds when I get down for Christmas no one has ever complained before but will change them out if my due diligence reveals the same.

We stayed in the Summerwind from July 10th thru July 17th. It was the 1st time we had ever been to Destin, FL. It was amazing. The house was more than we could have asked for. It had all the comforts of home, never once did we feel uncomfortable like we do when we are in a hotel. We were so relaxed. The private street was a huge plus, the kids could walk back and forth from the beach to the house when they were hungry or wanted to swim in the pool since the street was private and the house was just a 1 minute or so walk from the beach. Another plus is the HUGE laundry room, it made unpacking when we returned home easy, because all our clothes were clean and ready to be put away. The sand was the purest white clean sand I have ever seen in my life. The water was gorgeus. At first there was seaweed of course but the waves so awesome you didnt even notice it, then later on in the week the water was as clear blue as it was when we were in Key West you could see 5-10 ft down. We have been to beachs in FL, SC, NC, AL and Belzie and Cozumel Mexico. This house and Destin, FL was above and beyond any of the other places we have ever been. I would recommend this house and Destin, FL to anyone that asked me. The Nisbet's were wonderful and always helpful with any questions that we had. The house is right in the heart of Destin, FL. 6 miles to Walmart and Alvins Island is a the front of the street which was a HUGE PLUS. Lady's the outlet Malls are straight across the street, walking distance from the house.!!!!! Bottom line we loved the house and everything that went with our stay at the Summerwind. 100% postive feedback and would recommend this house to anyone that was looking for a home away from home. Summer Wind is a great beach house that is truly walking distance to the beach - we found that very important with young children and lots of gear! We went for the second time this Spring and while the ocean was still a little cold, the heated pool was the perfect solution for our swimmers. The upstairs has a great kitchen and the outdoor deck was a great spot to sit after the kids went to sleep at night. The downstairs has great kitchen appliances, too. We enjoyed having a washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack many clothes. The kids love playing in the pool and when they needed a break from the sun, the shaded downstairs deck was just right. We played with chalk, blew up a baby pool and counted our shells there. Both vacations we have visited the outlet mall that is right across the street and we like having the private gate access to the community there. The Summer Wind owners were helpful in answering all our questions. We recommend this beach house and will visit again.

This home was ideal for our family. We have three children, two son-in-laws and a grandchild. One family was downstiars with privacy for the baby's naps while the rest of us slept upstairs. We had a wonderful time in the pool, grilling out, the short walk to the beach, and plenty of room!! We will definitely be back = the owners were very gracious.

We just returned from visiting the Summerwind property in Destin, FL for our second consecutive year. This home is absolutely gorgeous! Only a walk away from the beach and you can hear the ocean waves from the deck on the house. We loved our time at Summerwind and we hope to be able to return at some point in the future.
