LA GRANGE DE GUSTOU is a restored stone barn situated at 3000-feet elevation on a south-facing promontory between forest and pastureland, enjoying a superb panoramic view toward the high Pyrenean peaks as well as the Garbet river valley and the village of Erce below. The interior of the gite has been renovated for maximum comfort; a terrace and veranda have been added to the original building so as to be able to admire the view any time of day or season. Total peace is assured. Surrounding the house you can enjoy 40 acres of private land with forest and meadows. There are no neighbours or noise other than the sounds of cow bells and the falling water from a nearby torrent.

LOCATION
La Grange de Gustou is situated in south of France In the Pyrenees mountains and the department of Ariege. One hundred twenty kilometres from international airports of Toulouse or Carcassonne. One-and-one-half hour drive passing the cities of Saint-Girons, Oust, and Erce. From the village of Erce a two-kilometre, unpaved, passable road climb to the house through meadows and forest.

HISTORY
Gustou who is now nearly 90 years old was the previous owner and he was used to bringing his cows up to the fertile pastures on terraced land nearby the barn for the summer. The barn was located on a rocky promontory as at that time hay or dung was carried by men and it was easier to bring hay up the slope and dung down the slope. Nowadays Merens horses have replaced the cows on the summer pastures, but the newly restorated barn constructed of granite, wood, and slate has retained its original aspect.

* One master bedroom with double-size bed with Oriental décor.
- One large bedroom with balcony with a double bed a children bed and traditional rustic furniture.
- One small bedroom with four bunk beds and a balcony.
- Wash house with clothes washer and dryer, ironing board and iron.
