We have been coming to Hawaii since the 70’s and have stayed in many different places on most of the islands from time to time. So, it is with confidence and experience when I say, that our beautiful, two bedroom, two bath, Wailea condominium is a great place to vacation! We were one of the first to purchase a site when these were being built, and as a result of our early choice, this unit has one of the best panoramic views of the complex. As you gaze out into the blue Pacific, you see a spectacular view of the island of Kahoolawe, fronted by the snorkeling destination of the tiny island, Molokini. Spanning across the water, the distant island of Lanai comes into view, offering a silhouetted and nightly backdrop for awe-inspiring sunsets. As you follow the view to the north,there is a small view of the West Maui Mountains, rising up from the valley completing this wonderful panorama. Often, during whale season, multiple sightings are common even as you sit on the lanai, enjoying your breakfast, lunch or dinner relaxing in the warm tropical breezes of Maui. Speaking of the lanai,it is fronted by quite a nice area of lawn that adds to its generous feeling and is surrounded by tropical plantings of plumeria and palms and ferns .
Recently, we have just completed a remodel, adding tile floors, granite counter-tops, new cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, furniture, and a complete paint job!
It is very accommodating and easy to live in for your stay in Maui.
The condominium is on the tee of the 16th hole of Wailea’s Blue Golf Course and is just a short drive of 5 minutes or less to play this classic course. Also, very near by are Wailea’s Gold and Emerald courses, and if that isn’t enough golfing options, just a short drive to Makena, brings two more beautiful golf courses to choose from. Wailea also boasts a wonderful tennis facility, again, just a short drive from our condominium.
The Shops at Wailea, a unique open and airy mall with many interesting shops, also features some upscale retailers such as Gucci, Coach, Guess, to name a few. The Shops at Wailea also has four terrific restaurants: Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Tommy Bahamas, Longis, and the casual and fun, Cheeseburger Island Style.
The condominium is close to both swimming pools on the complex, each of which are hidden in a wonderful tropical garden setting and are a welcome retreat to swim or just lay back and read while the day passes by. Located on the common grounds, there are charcoal grills for grilling up your barbeque favorites such as steak or perhaps a fillet of fresh local caught fish available in the nearby markets. There is also an electric grill for use at the condominium if you choose to grill on your own lanai. We are close within minutes to many beautiful beaches, including Polo, Wailea, Mokapu and Ulua beaches. Snorkeling around the lava out flows on these beaches is a common activity, as well as just enjoying the expanses of golden sand and beautiful blue surf. Wailea is located on the lea side of the island where it is less affected by inclement weather and is considered to be "the dry side" of the island for more fun in the sun.
The condominium has one king-size bed and one cal-king size bed, and is ideal for no more than four people.
Should you decide to stay in our condominium, I know your visit will be filled with peaceful solitude and many wonderful tropical memories of Maui.

What really enjoyed our time at Ekolu. What a lovely place to escape from winter and spend some time in the sun. The accommodation and grounds are well maintained and very peaceful. The kitchen is a good size and is fully equipped with everything required to make meals. We also appreciated all the information provided by the owner. The bedrooms are very private, each with their own bathroom . There are beautiful swimming pools and walkways, and of course the golf course. This location is within walking distance to the Shops at Wailea as well as several great restauants. We will be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This is our second time at this condo. We stayed two weeks this time and enjoyed the, view, HD televisions, closeness to the some of the best beaches in all of Hawaii and had a wonderful time. We'll be backRecommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

I spent about a week at this property. From the initial e-mail, the owner made the experience hassle free and very accommodating. Communication was very easy and obtaining the keys, directions, and instructions for use of the condo was equally simple. The condo itself was exceptionally furnished but the icing on the cake was the practical items necessary to make a tropical vacation fun such as the body boards and portable cooler. My friends and I were very impressed by the furnishings, location, and overall experience and can't wait to return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+.

We spent 14 days on Maui in August, 2010 for our 30th anniversary. We had a wonderful time and especially enjoyed the condo. It was very well appointed, the kitchen had everything you could think of. There were plenty of beach towels and beach equipment, coolers etc. The lanai was wonderful and we spent many evenings watching the gorgeous sunset with a nice glass of wine. This is a great location, a short walk or drive to nearby shopping, beaches and restaurants. We would highly recommend this property for everyone, but especially for two adult couples due to the layout. It provides a great deal of privacy for everyone. There were detailed directions for using all of the equipment in the condo, which was great. We have stayed many places where we have played "guess what this remote does". Mahalo to Tad and the rest of the owners. We will be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+.

We spent 10 days at this condo in May, 2010 and can recommend it. It is an upscale condo with a beautiful view. It is well appointed in every way. I think a downstairs unit is cooler than upstairs, as we have stayed at Ekolu condos many times and find this unit never got too warm. The huge flat screen TV is perfect for watching movies after a glorious sunset.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.

We had a wonderful week staying in the condo. The veiws from the lanai where amazing, we could watch the whales while eating breakfast! The accomadations are very nice and it is very well appointed, we were without want for anything. This is a great location, alot of near by shopping, beaches and resturants. We would recommond this condo to anyone, the owners are very nice and very helpful and go to great lenghts to make sure your trip is a good one.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: We really have always loved Hawaii. One adventure that comes to mind, was back in 1988 when we went to visit the Island of Molokai for the day. We took the Island Princess ferry over and while having a lunch down by the ocean, we were invited to a local style luau later that day. We followed the directions that led us down an old dirt road lined with Mango trees that opened up to the beach, with a little grass shack and the pig in the imu. We had a great time and missed the ferry back but went home with the hula dancers who graciously put us up for the night. When we got back to Maui the next day, Tad, wrote a song called "Molokai Slide" that 8 years later, was recorded by Ehukai and became a huge hit in the islands and is still played today as an oldie but goodie. No matter what adventure we have found ourselves in, it always felt good to return to the peace and solitude of our condo.
Why the Owner Chose Wailea Ekolu:
Our Family has been coming to Hawaii since the early 70's. I can remember when Kihei Road had very little on it except for a few local eating places and a few hotels. Then it happened. It just blew up in popularity and next thing you knew, your staring at a Denny's on Kihei Rd. and you wonder what happen!! We had stayed at many different locations up and down Kihei Rd. and some proved to be better than others, but my Father in Law, the late Glen Hicks, was fortunate enough to win a prime choice of locations when Ekolu was just in the design phase. I know I have mentioned this before but, I think the location we have is really a strategic choice. Because of the common area in front of us, we have a beautiful view, and the Blue golf course to the south, provides an ample buffer in that direction. The road into the parking area, beyond the landscaping, is another buffer zone as well as the parking area to the East. All in All, it really has an uncrowded feel and at times, I feel like I am the only one staying there. I also like the fact that we are very close to the beach, minutes away, with out being in the touristy overcrowded scene. I can go and enjoy the beach, and world class shopping, then get away just as easily when I want the peace and solitude of our place, just a little up the slope of Haleakala, perched above the blue Pacific. The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
I would just say that because of its close proximity to so many wonderful beaches, fun shopping, and all kinds of dining, it really is a great location. World class golfing, surfing, and so many adventures are easily reached. I like the fact that the Pi'ilani Highway is easily accessed to get by Kihei quickly for access to all the other points of the islands. You would think that staying on Maui would be pretty much the same where ever you stay but there are subtle differences between such areas as Ka'anapali or of course Hana. For one, the weather is really more consistently better in Wailea. More sun!!
Wailea is really an excellent area, and our condo is sitting nice.
