The flat is situated in the basement of a lovely house in a quiet street next to Greenwich Park. We spent a wonderful week with our two children (11 and 9 years old) in Greenwich. It´s a lovely place to start sightseeing so we went by boat, DLR and tube to London city, to Canary Wharf and to Greenwich itself. There are several supermarkets and the wonderful Greenwich market to buy food. The flat has got a well equipped kitchen. We also went to some pubs and restaurants in Greenwich and London and we especially enjoyed the service and the friendly people. Thanks al lot to the landlord and his family, who are very nice and helpful. We booked a taxi transfer (landlords' advice) from London City Airport to the flat (20 GBP) and had a nice driver and a comfortable journey. We will come back to this flat for our next stay in London...and this will be very soon!!!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: We are always very happy to have guests from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. We find that they appreciate the same level of cleanliness and attention to detail that we like to provide and expect when we are guests. Also, we find that the most important thing for a holiday is for the guest to have a "hassle free" time and find that the airport transfer service, where the driver meets the guest at the airport with the key especially if a late arrival, with children takes out the biggest problem from the holiday and allows the guest to relax and enjoy their stay more. We look forward to having you back at our home.
Nice location, very helpful agent
Nice location, very helpful agent
We stayed in the apartment for more than one week and it was a nice stay even though there were minor issues. The check-in day was Valentine's day and Friday that the traffic was deadly slow. We made the first mistake to get the key at the agent's shop instead of taking it at the apartment, which we could get rid of the traffic jam. The apartment is a basement and there is no exit to the garden. It was a bit disappointed because it was not indicated clearly in the advertisement! The apartment has several problems: some lightings were not ON, TV was without signal, toaster and can openner was mal-functioning, cooking pan was no good, and there were some drainage problems. Jarvis came quickly and helped out everything in his best by replacement and/or worked out the solution to rectified the issues. After everything was cleared, our stay became much better. Although it is a basement, the lighting is acceptable. The location of the apartment is very close to the Greenwich Park which is really a good place for leisure. Driving down to the supermarkets took few minutes and it was very convenience. Parking outside the apartment was not an issue but I had to relocate the car to different parking bays in order to have free parking, from 9:00am to 6:30pm you can park your car in the parking bay for 2 hours before you need to relocate it. After all the apartment is good in the sense of value for money, space, location and environment. I would recommend the owner to indicate clearly it is a basement and better to remove the garden view photo.

Nice surroundings, ideal for families
Nice surroundings, ideal for families
Our stay in London was really exciting and the apartment perfectly suited our needs, with much space for eight people, two bathrooms and all the necessary equipment, tools, kitchen implements and accessories to eat at home if you want to. It is also conveniently located in very nice surroundings, with Greenwich Park just outside the door. The bus stop to North Greenwich on the Jubilee Line or Greenwich DLR station is a five-minute walk away, so you can reach downtown London very quickly. We definitely recommend this apartment to large groups and families with children, as you can visit London while enjoying a quiet and green neighborhood when you go back home.

Yes, it felt like home
Yes, it felt like home
Our family (mum, dad + two teenage daughters) spent a delightful week in Greenwich. Julian and Francesca titled this apartment "Your Home Away from Home" - and that's exactly right, coming back after a long day of sightseeing felt like coming home. The apartment is spacious, in fact exactly as shown on the photographs. Having a fully fitted kitchen is a great convenience. As for the location, it is in a nice and quiet part of Greenwich. Maze Hill railway station is indeed very close to the apartment, with a regular train service to the city centre. Getting to the Cutty Sark DLR station literally is 'a walk in the park' - although this was a bit further away, we mostly aimed for the DLR and enjoyed the stunning views over the Thames from Greenwich Park along the way. The apartment is a bit uphill from Greenwich town centre (the daughters thought it 'a steep climb', but that only shows their Dutch flatlandish outlook...), but you're rewarded with a great view! We had planned to spend most of the week in and around the City, but ended up spending quite a lot of time in Greenwich itself, taking in the sights (Planetarium, National Maritime Museum, Greenwich town centre). The owners were very helpful in the process of booking the apartment and provided lots of information to make our stay as agreeable as possible. All in all: highly recommended!

our stay at Greenwich
our stay at Greenwich
We stayed here for a week, last May, two couples with 2 children. The property was exactly as described and as we expected. It is comfortable, well maintained and clean, in very nice surroundings (just next to Greenwich Park). It is just a short walk to the Railway Station and to the buses that connect you to the DLR. Greenwich itself is quite a nice place to be, with attracions not to be missed: The Royal Observatory, The Planetarium, The Maritime Museum, the Cutty Sark (it is reopening in Spring 2012), and Greenwich Park itself. The owners are particularly helpful and responsive (the landlady- a young italian woman we had the pleasure to meet, replied to any questions we asked almost in real time, before and during our stay). You can also ask for a car service to take you from/to the airport with your house keys. We are totally satisfied with our choice and would like to strongly recommend this apartment. We also hope to come back here soon.

Owner response: Dear Carlo, Thank you very much for an absolutely fantastic review!!! We are glad you had a wonderful time while in our apartment in London and it seems like you really took advantage of everything Greenwich has to offer. We look forward to seeing you in the future!!! Best Regards, Julian and Francesca

I chose this property because of it's location and proximity to certain parts of London that I like very much (Greenwich Park, Blackheath village, the royal observatory, etc). The property was immaculate on our arrival; a little cold but that was soon remedied once the heating had been on for a few hours. The instructions provided on local access including transportation and points of interest were useful. There were two areas that I felt let the property down a little - the first was the fact that although the satellite provided some 1000+ channels the local TV channels were not accessible and most of the channels seemed to be arabic. The second was the fact that reception for mobile telephones was extremely poor (although I recognize this is nothing the owner could have helped) making communication challenging, a land line would have helped. The stairs to the property from the street are a little daunting for the elderly; if at all possible I would suggest that they be widened, perhaps have a small landing in between and a much better railing. I would recommend the property to anyone who is not afraid of using public transportation and who enjoys walking. Access to central London is as easy as advertised and there a plenty of local, off the beaten track attractions. It is extremely spacious, surprisingly full of light for a basement flat; the two bathrooms were a most definite plus, as was the ease of use of the wifi.

Owner response: Dear Anita, Thank you very much for taking the time to fill out the guest review on our property. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and welcome the opportunity to address some of the changes you suggested to make other guests stay more comfortable and welcome. I think that this was one of the first bookings that we have had for an elderly and less mobile couple and we agree that the typical narrow English Steps are not the best, especially at night when it is dark and Icy. You were great guests especially when hit by the severe conditions we experienced including the earliest snow blizzard in a very long time. We hoped the shoveling and the outdoor lights on the passageway helped. We look forward to seeing you again...and maybe you can visit the home during a better time of the year :-)

We loved it!
We loved it!
We (1 adult and 3 teenager) had a nice stay in Greenwich. We loved the fact that the flat was so close to the city either by National Train from Maze Hill or by DLR/Bus/Tube. Just 1 minute walk and you enter the wonderful Greenwich Park from which we enjoyed the view over Canary Wharf and the City until Westminster! However, the location is very quiet, we slept even better than at home in Switzerland! Greenwich is a lovely place with lots of possibilities for sightseeing as well as pubs. We especially recommend making a trip by boat from Greenwich Pier to Westminster. The flat has everything you need for cooking and for buying food there are grocers within a 5 minutes’ walk. The owner is very friendly and there has been no problems neither to get the flat in a cleaned state nor with payment/repayment of the deposit. We would come back anytime!
