It is not often that you find a rental that is above expectations. Alan's unit felt just right the minute we walked in. Tired and irritable from travel, I had just discovered that I left a bag standing at the curb by the taxi stand at the airport (wonderfully, they had it for me when I went back out there) I wouldn't have had much tolerance for disappointments. Well!! We loved it from that minute onward. We were there for 3 weeks. It was like a club, met so many people - cocktails standing in the pool watching the sun go down. The layout of the unit is superb, morning coffee on the deck facing the view became our habit. A wonderful space for entertaining. We had a chance to see other units and did not feel a drop of jealousy. The view, amenities, staff are all superb. It was a perfect holiday.

Simply an awesome awesome Condo just 10 mins from La Ropa. I could elaborate endlesly but it would all be the same - Perfection, extraordinary perfection.

Owner response: Glad you could make it on foot to the sand in ten minutes. That, of course, is only one of the many wonderful experiences there at Alanamar. Rental cars are never necessary! Alan

We stayed at Alanamar for a week in February. The casa is even more beautiful than the photos, as is the view of the Bay! We have traveled to Z many times and will definitely book Alanamar for our next trip. Alan is great to work with in arranging your stay. We were greeted by Jose and Irma on our arrival and the casa was immaculatly clean. We like to cook in and there was not one disappointment with the tools in the kitchen - everything you need to make amazing meals and a juicer for fresh squeezed OJ. The gas grill was an added bonus for us. Thank you Alan for sharing Casa Alanamar with us!

Owner response: Thanks Sheryl for taking the time to share your experience with others who may wish to stay at Alanamar there in Zihua. We strive to make sure all of our guests have a positive experience and try ouir best to not "over sell" what we are making available.

Our stay at La Casa Que Ve al Mar more than met all of our expectations. The roomy bed rooms, the well stocked kitchen, the wonderful views from the balcony, as well as the professional and courteous staff made the stay one of the best we have had on our Mexican holidays. The local market, the wonderful shops, and the fresh fish make cooking a delight. Zihuatanejo is a wonderful place to shop. Since La Casa Que Ve al Mar is close enough that you can walk or if you wish take a taxi, the days are filled with whatever adventures you would like to experience. I would recommend a stay here as one of the best places to stay in Zihuatenajo.

Owner response: It's always a thrill to know one of our guests has had such a positive experience as we do all in our power to try to make that happen. Zihua is indeed magical!

We had an amazing vacation in Zihua. The condo was beautiful and even better than the pictures. I miss the beautiful ocean view. More helpful than anything was the "bible"; what we called the informational booklet the hosts provided us with. We would gladly stay at Alanamar again!

We have been coming to Zihuatanejo for fourteen years and have stayed at Alanamar for the past six years for two weeks in February. We have stayed at other locations prior to Alanamar and looked at other condos, but always came back to Alanamar because of the views, the large spaces and the ease of working with the owner Alan. Our older children have joined us on several occasions for a week and have absolutely loved the condo and the access to the pools, beach (a 10 minute walk) and restaurants. If you were to think of the word “paradise” you would think of Alanamar. Each morning we would sit on the very large veranda and enjoy the views with a cup of coffee. The evening sunsets were spectacular. The condo has wonderful artwork and is fully furnished so that you can enjoy cooking or just relaxing while you enjoy the beautiful view. We just loved it here. this was by far the nicest place in zihuatanejo for the money. perfect views from a great covered porch. everything from the check in to check out was first class. we had friends staying at the tides for triple the cost and they wanted to visit with us rather than stay at their place. the owners were helpful and the staff they have are priceless

Owner response: Thanks for your kind words. We bust our collective butts to be sure all of our guests have the most positive experience possible. So many of our visitors have never been to Mexico before and may never return. Most of our guests only have time to get away for a week so we need to be sure there is no lost time. Our FAM package allows all of our guests to hit the ground running = no lost time; no false starts. Just get out there and enjoy life. We want to be sure that when our guests walk through that front door and walk out toward the huge landscaped terrace they will just have their socks just blown off.

My husband and I spent 10 glorious days at Alanamar in mid-October.The accomodations and view are even nicer than they appear in the photos. Alan's extremely helpful book of tips, restaurant reviews, etc. was a great resource, even though we've been visiting Zihuatanejo for over 30 years (our favorite beach destination in Mexico). I highly recommend Alanamar for a truly restful vacation in a beautiful place. One note: the walk to the beach while not far is a little steep- we are walkers and even we puffed a little while walking back to the condo! However, the 2 infinity pools awaiting us at the top made all our exertion worthwhile - and instantly forgotten. Every day we debated whether or not to rent a car and venture forth...go play golf in Ixtapa...visit a different beach. Every day we ended up deciding, nah...it's so great right here! Over the years we've visited most of the local spots, & always return to La Ropa. We spent every day from about 10:30 am to 4 pm recumbent on loungers at the Restaurant La Perla on Playa La Ropa- for 50 pesos we enjoyed our chaises, umbrella and the services of the waiters dressed in crisp whites who brought us drinks and the best guacamole and chips ever (our favorite was Miguel). Well worth every peso (although we do remember the days when the loungers were free for the price of a Coke...) One great benefit to Alanamar is the internet access, as my husband and I travel with our laptops, and he actually had a few conference calls to do while there (thankfully the video cam wasn't on to reveal his swim trunk attire!) Another plus is the phone available in the unit for local calls (to check on restaurant availability, etc. )It was also very nice to have a local contact available in case of need, although we didn't end up needing her services. In addition, we were impressed when the owner, Alan, called us upon our arrival to make sure everything was in order. Which it was! We fixed breakfast every day (appreciated the shopping service offered by the owner which allowed us to arrive to a fully stocked fridge and larder), ate lunch at the beach and went out for dinner almost every night (among our favorites: Il Mare, La Sirena Gorda, Amuleto...Coconuts, alas, was closed during our stay- offseason). In sum- a beautiful condo in a beautiful place, clean, well-maintained, nicely decorated and fully equipped. We will return! We don't visit annually, but every few years- and Alanamar will be our first choice. Hope it's available!

Owner response: Sounds like we have hit another home run. That's always a thrill for us as it tells us all of our efforts to assure our guests have a great experience have paid off. Thanks for staying with us and we look forward to your return. And thanks for letting us know our prep knife inventory was a little low; we really appreciate that. Getting that message before we discovered it on our own enabled us to bring a new supply within weeks. ¡Saludos! Alan & Susan

We stayed at unit that overlooked the pool and beach, it was fantastic. Excellent sized living space, a working grill on the patio, a hammock, and comfortable beds. The staff were always friendly and the local taxi drivers knew the address so it was always easy to get in and out of town.

The condo was perfect for us. I have nothing negative to say about our stay. Our vacation was in September so we practically had the pools to ourselves. The other people staying in the complex were so pleasant and added to the enjoyment of our trip. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

My family spent a week in the condo. The condo looks even better in person. It is conveniently located and is a short ride to the market, restaurants, shopping. We went in low season and enjoyed the lull. The condo's pools were empty, restaurants had no line etc. It was a nice, sleepy relaxing holiday. The owner, as well, provides you with a very comprehensive "manual" before you come that answers any and all questions you could possibly have. And he was always extremely responsive before and during the trip, going out of his way to answer questions and provide help. His onsite manager is also quite lovely and very helpful if you have an immediate need and require someone local.

The facilities were every bit as good as presented on the web site. It is an absolutley beautiful place to vacation. The condo was most comfortable and well furnished with everything in working order. We loved the large porch overlooking the bay and the two infinity pools, and ate most of our meals there as the view was breathtaking. We also found the infinity pools a great swimming experience and a good place to meet other guests at the facility. We would return in a minute!!! The Zipps

My husband and I had the loveliest of vacations at Alanamar. When we were hot, we walked a short distance to either of the infinity pools for a dip and to meet up with friends we made while there. Following this, dinner was enjoyed on the generous terrace with an expansive view of the Zihuatanejo bay. What could be better than this? Alan provided complete information on amenities, restaurants, local stores, transportation, etc. in a manual that we received after booking the condo. We found the written information on the premises to be quite complete as well, such as information as to when housekeeping would be performed. The kitchen is completely equipped. We wanted for nothing. I loved the view from our bedroom out onto the terrace. I was transported into a magical reality every day that I awakened to realize that I was in this lovely "home away from home" overlooking two infinity pools and the Zihuatanejo Bay. One of the pleasures of Zihuatanejo is that one can walk along the promenade or down to the beach rather than being dependent on a rental car. A bus ride or a short taxi ride were also options that were quite accessible and reasonable.

You know that you are going to have a good time as soon as you open the door and see the view. No stairs, no elevator and a great kitchen for cooking delicious fresh fish from the local market. The shower has a perfect(private) window to watch the sunset from and so does the patio which is HUGE. Location is great for La Ropa beach as well as the town....below the condo is a regular bus with all the flavor of Mexico and its people. We will certainly try to return in 2010 as it is an excellent place for an extended stay.

Owner response: Ah........yes! The patio! It is as big as some of the condos. We just live out there amd thanks for appreciating our place as much as we do.

All we can say is GO! It's everything and more. We felt safe and relaxed. We were there in October 2009. The view is breath taking. The Condo is more then accommodating, very quiet and comfortable. The beach, with several restaurants on it is less then a 7 min. walk. Snorkeling, para-sailing, massages and jet skiinig are all right there at the beach. The water is warm! Yep, you can swim in it without a wetsuit! You never have to leave the Condo or its immediate area to have a wonderful, relaxing and romantic time. You'll definitely spend quality time relaxing on the terrace and by the pools. This is the sort of place that you sit at your computer/workstation while at work and wish you were at...and then, you realize, you're actually here. It's perfect! Go relax and enjoy the beauty of Alanamar at La Casa Que Ve Al Mar Zihuatanejo Mexico, you won't regret it because there's nothing to regret. Alan and Susan are awesome and sincere about making your vacation worth while and relaxing. We will return, and plan to share this delightful and tranquil find with family and friends.

Owner response: Thanks, Vickie, for your thoughts. It is always nice to have our guests enjoy our place as much as we do.

We have stayed at Alanar twice and hopefully will do so many, many more times. What a magical place. The lodgings are beautifully appointed with attention to every detail. Clean, fresh and comfortable. The views from the lani are breathtaking no matter what time you choose to look at the huge ocean view. The porperties are immaculate and the fabulous pools are a great afternoon destination. We spent many, many hours around the pools and made great friends with others vacationing there. It is a short walk to and from the beach where food and drink is plentiful and delicious. Our hosts, Alan and Susan, take care of every detail including restaurant recommendations and recipes for home cooked specialties. This is a wonderful place to rest and refresh. It will be our destination for years to come.

Owner response: Thanks for your comments; it is always a pleasure to have satisfied guests. We are also grateful for input relative to where we may have disappointed you as well. You are our best eyes and ears!

What a magical destination to rest, relax, and sample this wonderful Mexican culture which is so close to us by air. The condo is immense and is equipped with convenience and luxury in mind. Every detail is anticipated and our hosts, Susan & Alan, prepared us for a delightful experience. We spent most of our time there out on the terrace watching life unfold on the surface of the ocean - birds galore, jumping fish, mega yachts, cruise ships, and more. The beach is just a brief walk and town is five minutes away by local bus which comes by the condo every 10 to 15 minutes. And the kitchen is a gourmet cook's dream. Everything is there to prepare simple snacks down to a five course dinner. Huge refrigerator, electric range with an oven (yep....we heard some places do not have ovens!), combo convection oven/microwave along with all of the widgits, pots/pans, flatware. Our only wish was that we should have arranged to stay for two weeks as one week is totally lame. Oh, and the get acquainted book we received after we confirmed the reservation is to die for. Everything you would ever want to know about this quaint community is included - we found the maps especially helpful. Can't wait to schedule our next trip and it will be to Alanamar and it will be for two weeks or more.

Owner response: Glad you found our FAM book so helpful. We figure with only a week to enjoy this little piece of paradise you need to hit the ground running.

Many years ago a professor talked about how a "significant emotional event can affect people. So the question is can a vacation be considered a significant emotional event? In Sept 2008 we arrived at the bottom of the hill at Alanamr LaCasa Que Ve Al Mar and looked up at this majestic building surrounded by lush tropical plants and impeccably landscaped grounds, we figured it couldn't get any better. Wrong... As we wheeled our bags towards our rental we came upon a beautiful archway that framed the two infinity pools and the bay of Zihuatenejo. A stunning view to behold. Once inside the condo... WOW, it was beautifully decorated with a Spanish flair and fresh flowers, all the amenities including filtered water throughout. Although we were on this gorgeous hill, we were only a 5 minute walk to the beach where you can find a variety of activities from massages, fishing, horseback riding to parasailing, or just enjoying the beach and warm water. Going to town was only a quick cab ride, or better yet if adventurous take the bus. You can mingle with the locals and get a real flavor of the community, a chance to practice your Spanish and they love to practice their English. It's well worth the ride. Ixtapa is only a 20 minute cab ride and offers great golf. The town has an open Mercado and street market with crafts and wares you can purchase as mementos of your visit. The restaurants had outdoor seating offering great food and service. Staying here was a little bit of paradise and after a week we had our answer Yes a vacation can be a significant emotional event and one we will always remember.

I have visited Alanamar twice, and my only regret is not having discovered it sooner. A true gem of a home made warm and inviting by Alan and Susan's special hospitality. With it,s stunning vistas and the host's amazing attention to every detail, Alanamar has claimed a spot on my annual must go list! It is just a short walk to the beach with just enough uphill effort on the return trip to burn off all the wonderful food so readily available at several beachfront dining locations. If you choose to be adventuresome, Alan provides you with his keen, and accurate insight into the local culture. We have enjoyed shopping for, and preparing several scrumptious meals by following Alan and Susan's tips from their comprehensive (one of a kind really) guidebook. I rate Alanamar and it's owners 5 Star!

Our family stayed at Alanamar during Christmas 2008. Our visit couldn't have been lovelier. The views of the Bay off the large veranda lined with Bouganvilla were breathtaking. The condo was beautifully decorated with charming mexican accents, spacious and fully equipped, including a gas BBQ. The staff and manager of La Casa Que Ve Al Mar were extremely friendly and helpful. Alan and Sue provide their guests with so much helpful information about the area, they really go above and beyond. The only bad part about our trip was having to leave this paradise, but plan to return in the future. We highly recommend staying at Alanamar, it is a must!
