We just returned from a week at Mi Casa. The waves were higher at high tide than we've seen them and it made for dramatic days, watching the kite surfers doing their thing. Barry and Pat have made some wonderful upgrades to the middle unit we stayed in and it was a week I would have gladly extended, if our schedules allowed. We have been coming to Mi Casa for about 5 years and love the improvement, new paint, carpets and tile, new kitchen and baths updates, etc. Living nearby makes it easy for Barry and Pat to assist with anything you need during your stay and they are good folks. We definitely plan to return - if not this year, then next spring. You couldn't ask for a better location to just unwind and relax or use as a home base to head out to old St. Augustine or Daytona for the day. I have to say, the weather was not that cooperative the first days of the week, but we can't blame Barry or Pat for Mother Nature! And the full moon coming up pink over the water on Thursday night was more than amazing ):

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Mi Casa. Excellent location,Many nice updates in the condo,And the owner is very nice and goes above and beyond on what you would expect. Would stay there again. I

Relaxing, spacious condo; incredible beach and ocean views!

We stayed 3 nights in early Nov...weather was awesome. Condo was very modern (2 large LCD TVs), had plenty of space with a large master and upstairs loft with two beds (two more in the living room), nice full kitchen, and huge deck right at the edge of the Atlantic. Barry (owner) was very helpful and ensured our stay was perfect. Beach was incredible...super surf, paddle board, or fishing location...near-private setting allowed our dog Rex to run free. 15 mins from St Augustine...Marineland only a few mins in the other direction. Nearby restaurants and shops. National park a block away. We loved every minute and will return! Thanks!

Mi Casa Crescent Beach, Florida

Having the ocean as your back yard and being in the comfort of your home only begins your experience when you visit Crescent Beach and stay at Mi Casa. The beach was deserted and you were at peace with nature. The bike rides were great. Zoey, our English Bulldog, not only enjoyed her swimming and sun bathing but the company of our next door neighbors. What a great place and we have to thank Barry and Pat. Same time and place next year. Already looking forward to it.

Owner response: Our islands nearly deserted beach is the reason we have sea turtles nesting here instead of on St Augustines public beach with its crowds and vehicular traffic. Watching all the birds and sea creatures from your chair both inside or out on the deck is wonderfully relaxing.

Mi casa was just as described! We couldn't have been happier when we arrived and toured the place. The location of the house was wonderful, close enough to St. Augustine to enjoy the sights, and far enough away to be very quiet and relaxing. The beach is very beautiful, with not a lot of other people on it. I highly recommend mi casa to anyone looking to get away. Thanks Barry!

A private paradise, gorgeous beach and comfortable accomodations

We've stayed at Mi Casa many times over the last decade and have enjoyed every visit. Our most recent visit was the best yet. The new owners have put a lot of money, time and effort into renovating the units. The updated bathrooms are beautiful and the furniture is comfortable and attractive. The new A/C was super cold and quiet. The beds and bedding were wonderful as well. There were too many upgrades to even list here. A great selection of DVDs and a large flat screen TV with full cable certainly made my husband happy after a long day on the beach. A fully equipped kitched helped us stay within budget by eating most of our meals right at home. I also enjoyed the thoughtful touches like the new condiments, diswasher soap and bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge. The cordless shark sweeper was so awesome for cleaning up after my toddler that I bought one for myself when I got home! Having a washer & dryer allowed us to keep our clothes and beach towels fresh for the week as well. The condo was clean, comfortable and attractive. As much as I loved the upgraded condo, the true star of the trip is the beach. The Matanzas bridge and inlet is just to the North of the condo and about a 1/2 mile or so to the south is a rocky outcropping. No easy public access means that the beach seems like your own private paradise. At high tide, the waves lap up against the large deck. At low tide the beach is nice and wide with tidal pools and rocky areas to explore. It has a shallow, gentle grade, so at low tide you can walk out pretty far in the waves without a steep dropoff. We've seen lots of "nature"; dolphins, sea turtles, osprey, sand crabs, etc. Across the bridge is a state-run preservation area with a nice boardwalk to another beach with lots of shells which is a great place if you like to take long walks on the beach. I was able to run and ride my bike along A1A South every day, there are sidewalks and nice bike lanes. We had a great vacation. It's an amazing beach, beautiful and functional condo and friendly and helpful owners. I hope to enjoy many more trips in the future!

Right On The Beach Vacation

A long overdue review for a wonderful "on the beach" condo. A perfect place to relax, enjoy the sunshine, watch the fishing and shrimping activity and all from your deck or bedroom window. Such a wonderful escape from the bustle of tourists but yet so close to all of the sightseeing, historical, shopping, and dining events. You could not ask for a better location and -- a better owner to rent from. It was a pleasure meeting the owner and he graciously welcomed our pet parrot on the vacation also. The property was immaculate with all of the amenities necessary for a fun time. Try it and you won't be sorry!

The Mi Casa unit we stayed in has been updated and has a fully equiped kitchen. We planned meals and ate in so that we could spend as much time on the beach as possible. This property is literally right on the beach. Not only is it right on the beach but you are on a corner so it is like having the beach all to yourself. It is absolutely breathtaking. The tide goes out very far at times allowing for lots of exploration. The only thing I would keep in mind with this unit is the floor plan is very open. There are not doors on the sleeping areas. We met longtime friends so it was a non issue for us. If you are looking for a fun, relaxing time, this is the place to be. We will definitely be back (hopefully sooner rather than later)!

Owner response: We stocked the kitchen just like home for families who want to cook in and stay close to the beach. For two families the open design works well. Barry & Patricia bought this unit May 2011 and have transformed it into a luxury accomodation. Everything including the A/C and ductwork is new. The patio doors slide easily, all the furniture is new, both bathrooms are 100% new and fully tiled. New paint job & two really comfortable recliners to watch TV or read in. Re-stuccoing the building freshened up the outside with the same historic coquina shell finish. The new memory foam king size bed insures a good nights rest.

My family has stayed at MiCasa in the past, about 4 different times to be exact. We have stayed in every condo and love the experience. I have called to stay in August and I will not be able to wait. It is the greatest place to stay and I can say so just based on past stays. I know that my stay in August will be just as relaxing and invigorating as the other visits. Thank you for MiCasa-----there is no better vacation spot. :)

I have traveled and stayed in many places on the beach. Mi Casa has it's own uniqueness that compares to none. Watching the sunrise from the bedroom window and hearing the music of the waves as I awake is indescribable. It was so peaceful to walk out on the beautiful deck and enjoy my morning cup of coffee observing the seagulls gathering their breakfast at low tide. A few steps down from the deck and the sand is beneath my feet. The morning walk searching for shells begins. My son just loved to chase the waves and the seagulls:).It is a lovely place. You feel as though you have your very own beach to run and play on. My son had so much fun playing and enjoying the beach. We didn't need to go anywhere but the grocery store. Everything you need is at Mi Casa. If you're a beach person such as myself, love privacy and like feeling as though your at home away from home. I highly recommend Mi Casa. My family and I are sure to return.

My family of 9 has stayed at Mi Casa for the last two summers and we LOVE it. The accomodations are terrific, the location is super and the views are fabulous. The nice large kitchen is perfect for a big crowd and the grill outside on the huge deck makes a lovely dinner right on the beach. The water and surf are excellent for people of all ages, including small children - the biggest thrill for my kids was picking up starfish on the beach. We took our kayak and had loads of fun in the ocean, paddling under the Matanzas bridge to the intracoastal waterway. We also took our boat, stored it at the Devil's Elbow marina and went boating and fishing several times. My family looks forward to our annual vacation at Mi Casa - convenient to St. Augustine, Marineland and many excellent restaurants. The rates are reasonable and the condo is fully furnished with all the amenities of home. The owners are great and we all agree that this destination has our hgihest recommendation for an oceanfront vacation in Florida!

We've always had a special place in our hearts for St. Augustine, but finding Mi Casa has made our trips there more anticipated than ever before. The units are comfortable and feel like a home away from home, and the stretch of beach you have all to yourselves there is truly magical. Every time we leave it's bittersweet for we're so happy to have made new memories there and so sad to have to go for we never want to leave!

My bride and I stayed at Mi Casa on our honeymoon week. When we walked in, I knew it was a mistake. Not only is the place very worn, but the downstairs shower was undergoing renovation, so there was visqueen on the walls, and gaps in the drywall. When I complained about this, the manager said he would take my bride and I out to dinner to make up for it, and to meet him at a restaurant the next night. HE NEVER SHOWED UP. And he was unavailable the rest of the week. Not having a very good taste in my mouth after this, I can only say, avoid this place.

Owner response: Timothy: We bought this unit May 2011 & I don't doubt what you say. We found the shower plus the upstairs bathroom unacceptable. You'll be pleased to see the 100% new bathrooms, both with all new fixtures and fully tiled. As a matter of fact, we replaced everything in the unit except the dishwasher! New appliances, furniture, beds ... you name it & it's new. Barry
