We are located approximately 45 minutes from Honolulu International Airport on the Northeast coast of Oahu; where the Ko'olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean. Our community of single-family homes, small shops, and quaint restaurants is very different from the high-rise retail/tourist center of Waikiki. With hiking trails and unspoiled reefs, we offer a glimpse of the Oahu of yesteryear with convenient access to the night life and modern pleasures of Honolulu & Waikiki.
Hale Kumula'au is an AIR-CONDITIONED 2 bedroom, 1 bath home that is very economical yet right by the beach. In addition to the interior living area (approx. 800 sf) there is also a covered & tiled lanai with 250 sf of space. From the lanai you can enjoy the sights & sounds of the pacific ocean just 80 feet away through our own private "compound". Although the Hale Kumula'au is not direct oceanfront you can use our oceanfront decks and chaise lounge charis anytime.
The kitchen & bath were remodeled in 2004. The interior dining area seats four people & the exterior table set outside on the lanai also seats four. The Hale Kumula'au is the perfect economical choice for small families traveling together.

Why the Owner Chose Hauula
Our family has owned and operated this business for two generations now. Originally our goal was to provide accommodations for people visiting family at BYU-Hawaii who wanted a more family-friendly atmosphere. We then realized the need for quality oceanfront vacation rentals at an affordable rate...this is our mission today, to provide quality, yet affordable, oceanfront vacation rentals on the North Shore of Oahu.
The Unique Benefits at this House/Duplex
Guests who stay with us get more than just a place to sleep at night, they get their own beach house on the North Shore of Oahu. We have 450 linear feet of oceanfront property giving our guests plenty of room to lounge in the sun while being cooled down by the gentle breezes of the South Pacific Ocean. We also have four hot tubs on the property plus kayaks, boogie boards, snorkeling gear and complimentary high-speed internet. Each of our units come with full kitchens and 11 of them have air-conditioning. We are located four minutes from the Polynesian Cultural Center and Brigham Young University Hawaii. We are also located 20 minutes north of Kualoa Ranch and 15 minutes from Sunset Beach and the famous North Shore surfing beaches.
Within walking distance to Hale Ko’olau with a large grocery store and several restaurants, including the very popular Papa Ole’s Kitchen.
This is one of our favorite beach parks on O’ahu. Enjoy excellent sandy bottom swimming on this stunning and uncrowded beach.

We have operated as Hale Koolau LLC for nearly a decade, however prior to this change of entity we operated the business as sole proprietors, accommodating thousands of guests over the years. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau of Hawaii with an A+ rating, member of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, and have an "excellent" rating on TripAdvisor.
