Anstruther apartment description
The Doocot is a well furnished apartment in picturesque Cellardyke, in Fife, and is located at 10, Dove Street. It is a two level apartment in a quiet culdesac, comprising spacious lounge, modern bathroom, large bedrooms, kitchen and utility room. The Doocot was awarded four star self catering accomodation by VisitScotland in 2007. Thoughtfully fitted throughout with modern furniture and appliances this flat is ideal for parties of 2 or 4. The beds can be split into two single beds setting it as twin or double comfortably sleeps up to 4. This apartment with door at ground level to rear has been fully modernised and is tastefully fitted throughout with close attention to detail.
You will find The Doocot ideal for holiday accomodation in the East Neuk of Fife. If you want a seaside holiday, shore side walks, golf, watersports, healthy eating and a drink in one of the excellent pubs then Cellardyke is the place for you. As you enter the pend at number 10 Dove Street, behind you is a glorious view over the harbour to the May Island. Up a flight of stone steps takes you to the door of The Doocot. Into the fitted dining kitchen and the adjoining utility room you will find all of the appliances needed for cooking, washing & drying. A full sized dining table with six chairs is there for meals with family or friends. Then into the spacious lounge with arm chairs, sofa bed, TV/DVD including SKY, CD player, coffee table and sideboard. Off the main corridor is the bathroom with toilet, sink and bath with mains pressure shower. A heated towel rail will ensure a warm wrap when you step out of the shower. The bedroom is tastefully set up and can be double or twin.
With a morning view of the May Island you'll wake up to glorious sunrises over the water.
Outside The Doocot is a shared courtyard, with garden furniture; ideal for sitting out enjoying a refreshment. With easy access to the kitchen drinks can be cool in the fridge while you relax in the afternoon and evening sunshine. The terraced garden is steep but the top enjoys a panoramic view of the Firth of Forth taking in the May Island and the Bass Rock. The steps up the garden are worn with the boots of decades of Cellardykers so be very careful if you venture up. For those who enjoy more vigorous exercise there are two sets of golf clubs and two bicyles available. Although Dove Street is a narrow culdesac you can park there and additional parking, close by at the harbour, is available. When all is considered, The Doocot, part of an early 1800's fishermans terraced row in Dove Street, is a place with a balance of history carefully tuned with modern day living.
You'll love it!!!

Everything and more for you here. The apartment was spotless and felt like we were looking after a friends place instead of a holiday let.No expense spared on interior decor. The bed was huge.I used to wake in middle of night and check to see if hubby was still in it as it was so so big I couldnt sense him there! There are 2 bikes to use and I did honestly struggle to get one out of the shed while my husband was not feeling well but soon went off down the street to post postcards. The local pub we didn't rate...felt more like a wine bar but Barco further along the street excellent food and not expensive and service great. Anstruther lovely harbour sea side place with lots of shops and places to eat.Never did get to go on boat trip to Isle of May as husband was not well but loved walking the coast.Lots of info in apartment and am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did.

This is a spacious, very comfortable and homely apartment a stone's throw from the pretty harbourfront of Cellardyke. The bedroom (and bed!) are huge, the kitchen and living spaces comfortable and well-equipped, and should you be lucky enough to have sunny weather, the swing seat at the top of the cute terraced garden provides a stunning view over the rooftops and out to the Isle of May. Very highly recommended.
