This two-story duplex, with access to Nye Beach and the Pacific Ocean just steps away, is comfortable, well stocked and well located. Watch whales from the deck or the patio. Read a book. Exercise the kids and the dog on the beach...or throw them in the back yard to play!

While we often rent each Retreat separately, many family reunions and wedding parties have reserved the entire building. Each unit has two bedrooms, bathroom, full kitchen, living room and dining area. The Upper Retreat has a large deck and the Lower Retreat has a patio with barbeque. Both face the ocean. Only the lower unit is pet-friendly.
Beach Retreat is ideally situated in Newport: just over the hill from the Embarcadero bay front with great restaurants and fishing/whaling excursions; close to the bridge taking you to the Newport Aquarium and/or the Rogue Brewery; and around the corner from the Newport Performing Arts Center and Nye Beach Historic District.

Year Purchased: 2005
There is nothing like the Oregon Coast and when we moved to our farm in the Coast Range, about 40 miles inland, we figured we better secure a getaway, somewhere away from the animals, but not too far for our farm-sitter neighbors to call us if necessary. Going to Newport is like being in the big city for us, with great seafood, and the view from Beach Retreat is phenomenal at sunset. Plus, there is nothing better than walking in the sand and checking out the tide pools. We love sharing our place with guests, because we know how the salt air smell usually brings back a flood of childhood memories for most folks. It does for us anyway. So, from our house to your house, enjoy some time with family and friends. We do!

We are within walking distance to the Nye Beach Historic district, have easy access to miles of beach, and the bay front is only a short car ride away. Newport has lots to offer anyone wanting a fun time at the Coast.

Four miles of sandy beach is just stair steps away and the ocean breeze comes through all the windows of the house! Bring the dog, bring the kite (actually we provide one in the Lower Retreat), and bring your appetite for fresh local fish. Vacation is on us!!
