If you want peace and serenity, away from the overcrowded and noisy condos/hotels, imagine spending your vacation in our brand new romantic cottage that sits directly across from your own secluded beach cove. Start your morning, on your private lanai, with a cup of Kona coffee and watch the gentle trade winds blow while you plan your day. Relax and enjoy peace and quite at the end of your day while you enjoy a mai-tai in your own private tropical yard.

The ocean air is wonderful, the whales (in-season from January to April) are captivating to watch, all this along with the gentle trade winds that lend a peaceful tranquility to our Maui home. Close to beautiful Napili,Kapalua and Kaanapali beaches. For those of you who surf, we're just 10 minutes away from famous Honolua Bay for your north swells and 10 minutes away from your south swells in Lahania. For the golf minded we are just a short distance from the famous Kapalua and Kaanapali golf courses.

  • My husband and I stayed at the Nelsons lovely cottage for 10 days for our honeymoon. October 4-14, 2009. It was paradise. Honestly I couldn't have made our time there any more perfect or enjoyable. Aside from the beauty and splendor of Maui itself it was so nice to come back to the cottage to relax. It is so comfortable and beautifully decorated. The colors and atmosphere are soothing. The landscaping is serene and inspiring. Wonderful privacy and quietness and our own parking spot. Close to everything we needed, mostly the beaches! Mike and Marsha are the coolest people and NEVER impose. So accommodating and pleasant. Good California people with the ALOHA spirit. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend their cottage and should we get the chance to go back this is where we would want to stay. No doubt about it. We are back home in the North Woods now but our hearts are warm with the memories of Maui...We hope to go back and escape to paradise once more... A Hui Hou from Craig and Ruth

  • We stayed two weeks (April 28-May 12 2009) at this amazing cottage. It's private, yet close to great beaches and Lahaina. It's quiet, private, clean, and the gardens are beautiful. Mike & Marsha were around, but never intrusive. They gave us great tips on good beach spots! It's obvious that they put a lot of care into the cottage and the yard. We were relaxed after the first night spent drinking cocktails on the private lanai. I hope to stay there again :) This is how Maui is supposed to be - not socked in at some resort, or crammed in with a bunch of other people in a condo.

  • Mike and Marsha's getaway-from-it-all was perfect for us! We are two overworked city-types in need of a romantic vacation and we found it in this beautiful, clean home. We stayed for 8 days. We cooked, grilled, rolled around in the private backyard (with an exquisite garden and serene water features), bathed in the private outdoor hot shower, napped in the quiet, comfy bedroom and enjoyed full cable on two TV's. We walked to Napili Market for fresh fish and croissants and spent most days on Napili Beach swimming, snorkeling and reading. Mike and Marsha have created a wonderfully private, clean and well-constructed home but then were right there if we had a question. We look forward to our next trip there! Now, if only we didn't have to go back to work!

  • Aloha, you know how they say that do overs don't work, well this was our 2nd time to Nelson Bay and we had as much fun this time, and so much more. Mike, Marsha & Jake were there to greet us with their aloha spirit. "Our cottage", as we refer to it, was the same as we left it. This time we stayed 2&1/2 weeks, still not long enough for us. We snorkeled, shopped, ate and tried out as many Mai Tais as we could. We got some awesome photos of sea turtles. We visited some new places on the island. There is so much to do here, we ran out of time. So, we had to re-book for 2009. We have been telling all of our friends about "Our Cottage". They are jealous! We hope some of them will come for a visit, just not when we want to be there. We are counting down the days until our next visit back to our home away from home. Much Mahalo to Mike, Marsha and Jake for inviting us become a part of their ohana. We will always treasure all of our memories of our time with you.

  • A big thank you to Mike and Marsha for their hospitality. We had a wonderful time at the cottage. The cottage was very quiet, close to the beach, and relaxing. It had all the comforts of home and we did not want to leave! We highly recommend their cottage and we will definitely be back.

  • Aloha, We stayed at the Nelson cottage, with our 10 year old son, from March 16 through March 23, 2008. The cottage is prefect! It is cozy, bright and private. The cove is a wonderful place to watch the amazing Maui sunsets. We had such a wonderful vacation. Mahalo Mike and Marsha for allowing us to share in your little slice of Heaven.   • WE STAYED FROM 2/20-2/27/08 WITH OUR 2 ADULT CHILDREN AT THE NELSON COTTAGE, EVERYONE WAS EXTREAMLY HAPPY WITH THE COTTAGE AND WHAT IT HAD TO OFFER. WE WENT TO THE BEACH ACROSS THE STREET EVERYDAY TO LOOK FOR SHELLS RELAXED, BIKED, WHALE WATCHED AND ZIP LINED IN KAPALUA. THANK YOU MIKE AND MARSHA. THE WELLS FAMILY.

  • I just wanted to let you know what a fabulous time we had. We loved the cottage- it is perfect for the type of vacation we like. I have already given the website to a number of other people-against my better judgement! Only thing I could have asked for was not to have a cold for the short time we were there! I really hope we can come see you again and stay a bit longer. We really enjoyed meeting you both and hope to be able to visit again- Aloha-

  • We stayed from 1/14-31/08 and thought the cottage was great. Seemed larger than photos made it look. Very private and quiet sleeping. Mike and Marsha are there for answering questions but the layout of the cottage makes for much privacy especially with the enclosed patio and back yard. Clean and bright, we thought that they were nicer accomodations than any of the condos that we have stayed in during 3 other visits to Maui. Nice sunsets just across the road as well.
