What a fabulous find on the west coast! Only a short ferry ride away to escape to paradise with the most awesome ocean views and fabulous sunsets. The cottage is perfectly equipped with anything you need and then some. Chuck and Darlene were wonderful hosts. Thank you both. This is the quintessential west coast beach cottage! Life's a Beach is wonderful - exactly what you are hoping for when renting a beachfront cottage on the Sunshine Coast. It was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated (you would never know they allow dogs, it was so clean). We appreciated the fenced in yard and especially the enclosed large front deck - it helped keep both our dog and our toddler safely contained. The location is perfect - conveniently located right off the highway and only a few minutes from downtown Sechelt, but at the end of a dead end lane, so very quiet and peaceful. At night all we could hear were the waves lapping on the shore. We stayed at Life's a Beach One (directly on the ocean) and found it to be quite spacious for the 3 of us and was by far the best-equipped rental we have ever stayed at. It felt more like we were house sitting for a friend than staying in a vacation rental. We stayed at the cottage for the Thanksgiving holiday and I was able to cook an entire turkey dinner with ease - the kitchen had everything I could possibly need and more. I can't say enough good things about this rental. The owners were friendly & accommodating, the property is well-kept, and the ocean views are outstanding. I already wish I was back at Life's a Beach!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you Chuck for providing us with such an amazing place to stay. The house is beautiful, extremely well kept and has amazing views to the ocean which is only meters away. When the tide was out we had the beach to ourselves for digging, climbing and flying kites. It was the most relaxing vacation I have had in years. Chuck is the perfect host making sure that everything is just right for your stay. We cannot wait to go back next year. Thank you Chuck!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

The cottage is so close to the water that at high tide from the dining room it looks like you are on a boat. The view to Vancouver Island and the Trail Islands is wonderful. The outdoor space is terrific -- lots of different seating areas and options. Wonderful meals on the deck with the barbeque. Inside is very comfortable and clean and has everything you could possibly need. It was the most well equipped and supplied place we've rented. The beach is mostly pebbly, but the swimming was great -- much warmer than expected. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I treated my daughters to a week at Life's a Beach. What a beautiful location and a wonderful cottage. The owners have equipped the property with everything to make your stay a pleasure. I have stayed in many vacation rentals and the kitchen at this property was the best ever as well as being spotless. Thanks to Chuck and Darlene for your hospitality. I hope to come back again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We stayed at this charming cottage for a long weekend. The cottage is very tastefully decorated, every detail filled with love and care. You can really experience West Coast life style at its best. Located right on the beach, so you can enjoy picturesque views of the ocean with boats and cruise liners passing by and hear surf. It's close to restaurants and shopping if you need it. Cottage looks way better than on the photos.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

In May of this year, we had the pleasure of staying in the lovely cottage "LifesaBeach" number two.. We stayed a total of two weeks plus one day....and the cottage, the gracious owners, Chuck and Darlene, and the area far surpassed our expectations. The cottage lent itself to being so very comfortable, exceptionally clean, expertly decorated with a 'beach motif"'...and with complete kitchen supplies, if you chose to do so, you could easily put together a Thanksgiving dinner. Views from most every window of the water and most every night, beautiful sunsets. We keep pouring over the photo book we made because it brings back such wonderful memories...we need to go back...very soon. Thank you, Chuck and Darlene, and we must not forget to mention their wonderful dogs, Brinks and Georgie.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a truly magnificent time at Life's a Beach. We came for R&R and certainly were not disappointed. The accommodations were spotless and well maintained and had everything we needed from a fully stocked kitchen to throw blankets in every room. The scenery is amazing and it was awesome having access to the beach, literally, right out the door. Our hosts were extremely hospitable and ensured we had all the information we needed to have a fabulous stay. The online pictures are great but it's even more beautiful in person. We will definitely be recommending Life's a Beach to everyone. We went to town for dinner at night and found great dining at Daphne's for Greek, Old Boot for Italian and the pub at Porpoise Bay. Lots of great walking areas right out the door, as well. Already looking forward to a return trip.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We had a wonderful time at "Life's a Beach" in April and Chuck was even kind enough to dial up some sunshine for us! This house is beautifully decorated and very clean - and is right on the beach! It is also well stocked. Views are great - especially from the master bedroom. Very relaxing. We had our little dog and she just loved lying on the sundeck. You can even walk to town. Hope to be back Chuck!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

"We throughly enjoyed our stay at Lifes a Beach this April. The owners have made it very easy for guests by thinking of everything that you might need for a comfortable stay. From binoculars and bird books available to research the various birds that abound, to a well appointed kitchen to make meal preparation easy. It is rather like staying at a best friend's Beach House while the owners are away. We rented the two Lifes a Beach houses to accommodate our family, including grandchildren, which was a perfect fit for us and our dogs and we did appreciate the ability to keep the dogs safe in a gated space. There is much to do in the area in the way of activities; including having a bonfire just below the house and roasting marshmallows. April 1st, our grandsons braved the sea and went swimming and thereafter repeated the dip almost daily, so we can attest that everyone enjoyed themselves." This was a great vacation for our family. We came in late September - We've got 2 small kids, and they loved the beach - while we as parents appreciated the safety and security of the property: the ability to watch the kids playing from the balcony, the gates around the property, etc. We also brought our dog, and it was marvellous for her too - a long beach to go chase balls down, and the balcony provided a warm spot for her to lay down after she was tired out. The wife and I really enjoyed the view, the privacy, the balcony and BBQ, and being able to sleep to the sound of the ocean at night. The cottage is clean and cozy, has a nice homey feel, and is supplied with a generous amount of appliances, cutlery and dishes, etc. to keep my wife the cook happy! On a personal note, we found the owner to be a real help when we needed it. Not only was he helpful in suggesting places to see and visit, but my wife actually had a bit of a back injury on the ferry ride over - the owner actually phoned up a nearby massage therapist, and drove my wife to the masseuse so she could get treatment -- all in a long holiday weekend when most places in town were closed! Would definitely recommend a stay at Life's a Beach, and we are already looking to book a stay there next summer.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I have stayed at Lifes a Beach One cottage a couple of times and each time we stay we have a wonderfully relaxing time. Over the course of our visits we've gotten to know Chuck (owner) and you couldn't find someone more friendly or helpful. He even took us on some off leash dog trails nearby so that the four legged member of our family could burn off some energy. The owners have done a wonderful job tastefully decorating the cottage and everything you could want/need is there for you. We've always appreciated how clean the cottage is and you would never know that they allow pets, but we are so thankful they do! Some of our favourite holiday moments have been just sitting out on the deck with a glass of wine enjoying the unobstructed sunset views...a truly relaxing getaway!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent a week last summer at Life's a Beach Oceanfront cottage and had a wonderful time. We have two teenagers and one dog and we all had plenty to do, or not do, depending on what we felt like. We had a hike every morning using info supplied by either Chuck or what we gathered from the tourist bureau in town. The hikes in the area are awesome, some that last a few hours and others shorter with varying degrees of difficulty. Apart from hiking, there is mountain biking, kyaking (we brought our own), longboarding hot spots, markets on the weekend, restaurants, activities abound, but the best part was relaxing and having family time in the beautiful, clean, well maintained little gem of a cottage on the beach. Thank you, we will be back one day!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have stayed twice now at this beautiful, quaint, seaside property and cannot say enough! In fact, we're planning our next trip out as we write this. Very quiet location as it's far enough back from the main road. All views are oriented to the ocean - amazing to watch the tugboats & barges at work, the seals playing during the day, gorgeous sunsets off the patio, and the flickering lights of Nanaimo across the waters at night. This location could not be better. We swam on the beach and went for long walks into Davis Bay. The cottage is spotless and pristine inside with lovely nautical decor, and Chuck and Darlene are so gracious about ensuring awareness of just how dog-friendly their property is. They have thought of everything in this beautiful cottage and are always available to answer questions about activites and attractions in the area. Thank you and see you soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The listing description and photos accurately reflect this wonderful beachfront property. The home was clean, beautifully decorated, well-appointed with everything you might need, and well-maintained. The owner was most helpful and I would definately recomment this property for many reasons including nearby activities (mountain biking, hiking, kayaking), dining, and sight-seeing. We absolutely loved our time spent here.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Life's a Beach is a fabulous place! You feel right at home. Everything you need is there. I mean everything! It is spotless and Darlene's decorative touch is fabulous. The unobstructed view from the deck and the amazing sunsets are icing on the cake. I'ts like sitting on the bow of a cruise ship. Walking distance to Sechelt is also a bonus. Our family loves it there. We look forward to our vacation here, each and every year, which we have done for the last five years.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We have stayed in both the upper and lower cottages, sometimes just the two of us and sometimes with our daughter and her partner. Everyone agrees Life's A Beach is a great spot to unwind. The upper cottage is a bit more spacious and easier to access, but the lower cottage and deck right down at water level is also hard to beat. We have spotted dolphins, seals and sea lions from the decks. The location is terrific, the cottages modern, fully equipped, spotless, and the owners delightful. We walk the beach to town most days and enjoy hiking, birding and generally exploring the adjacent area. The nearby town of Sechelt is a bonus - great seafood, local market, shopping and cafes.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
