My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our whole unit. The whole back of our unit was windows and glass sliding doors out onto a good sized balcony. It was very private out on our balcony. We left our sliding doors and windows open all night and while we were in our room, so we could hear the waves (which we were not far from) and feel the perfect breeze and temp. We watched whales go by every morning between 7 & 9 and every afternoon between 3 & 4. We watched them spout, and breach as they went by! Very cool! We wished we would have taken binoculars to get a better look. The room wasn't quite as new looking as it is the pictures, but everything was in good repair and very clean. Comfortable bed. Good house keeping. The staff was excellant, very friendly and very prompt. We never waited more than a few mins. when we called for a ride to the Lobby. Beautiful walks along the rocky beach. You can't swim in most of the beach of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose, but the Westin Hotel has one life guard and a small area flagged off where you can go in and swim. Or we walked 2 miles down the beach to the Hilton, which has a big beautiful bay that is safe for swimming, that anyone can use. If you have a car, it is a 5 min drive and we just parked at the Hilton for free. From Cabo San Lucas you can take a water taxi for only $10 per person over to the Arch and Lovers Beach, and they give you a tour and drive you around to the Pacific side, which takes about 30 mins. then they will leave you there on beautiful Lovers Beach for as long as you like, and will pick you up when you ask them to and return you to San Lucas, all for $10. We enjoyed it so much we went 2 different days. There are a few caves to explore, and huge waves on the Pacific side which is too dangerous to swim in, but we had fun watching some locals sand surf on one end of the beach. You can swim on the side of the Sea of Cortez. Also, we found 2 great places for snorkeling, between our property and San Lucas.Only a 15 min. drive. Chileno Bay (our favorite, you can snorkel there all day) and Santa Maria (between Kilometer marker 13 & 14--which has no signs--you have to ask locals to get directions). You can rent snorkel, mask & fins for $10 a day at either beach from a local. It was a great value and we would definately recommend this property.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
