We have just arrived home from our stay Jay and Barbara's cottage, and it was exactly what we were looking for. This was our second trip to O'ahu, stayed in Waikiki last summer, but this year we wanted something quieter, with a beach that wasn't flooded with people, so we looked up the windward coast. This cottage was exactly what we wanted, close to the beach, (only about a 2 minute walk) clean and well cared for. The beach was fantastic, beautiful white sand, turquoise water, no rocks to be found anywhere, and virtually deserted. When I say deserted, I mean we were there over July 4th weekend, and there wasn't more than 20 other people on the entire beach all that weekend.....there were many times during the week we were the only people on the entire beach. We were travelling with 3 children, ages from 21months to 12 years old, the beach and cottage were great for all. Jay and Barbara provide virtually everything needed for fun in the sun, from boogie boards, to sand toys for the baby. They also left a little welcome gift for the kids, a candy lei and ball for each: they were so thrilled to have been thought of like that. Not only was the cottage well equipped, but it was thoughtfully stocked with the basic food essentials, milk, eggs, bread, cereal, juice, ect....the fresh cut papaya was especially appreciated. It is certainly nice to have things stocked up for the next morning after coming in on a late flight, one less thing to worry about. We loved our stay, Jay and Barbara were wonderful hosts, it was everything we were hoping for and more. If you are coming to Hawaii for the beach, this should be your number one destination: Waimanalo is a hidden gem, you wont be disappointed, we are looking forward to our next visit.

We just got back from the most wonderful family vacation where we stayed at Jay and Barbara's wonderful cottage. We really couldn't have asked for anything more, from the well stocked fridge and cupboards to the friendly greeting when arriving to the wonderful sand toys and buckets left on the beds for the kids. It was a perfect place to for our young family of 5 to stay and I've never stayed at a more beautiful beach either, so quiet and simple amazing. We will be spreading the word about this place to as many as we can and hopefully someday will return. Thank you for sharing your Ohua with us. We will never forget it.

My family and I just returned from staying at this wonderful home. And we cannot say enough wonderful things about it. We drove up the driveway and were warmly welcomed by the owners. As we unpacked it was a nice treat to have the fresh fruit and cold beverages provided for us. The house is a quick and easy walk to the beach and is exactly what you see in the pics above - gorgeous! Highly recommend taking advantage of the body boards they provide too! The location is perfect - easy access to all of Oahu. Thank you guys so much from the bottom of hearts - we had a fantastic time!

Exactly what I wanted and wished for. Everything as expected and promised. Great views of the mountains everyday. Easy access to beach whenever without getting into a car. Totally relaxing. Jay and Barbara was very generous all the time. Would definitely come back to stay. Had active young children and place was perfect for them too. Best New years Fire work EVER!

Love this place and definitely will come back. Jay and Barbara welcome us with a fridge of necessity and even had toys for our kids in place. We have young children and the area was safe for them. The beach was the best on the island for us. No other tourists fighting for spots. Quiet neighbourhood and convenient to get everywhere.

Our adult family of 5 spent 8 nights at this cottage. It was great for us-- very casual. We could easily get to all our tourist stops, as well as just enjoy the sunrises and swimming at this beautiful beach ( 1 1/2 blocks away). There were little plate lunch places and farmers market ( thursday morning) within walking distance. The owners are in the front house, but there is privacy with the cottage. We enjoyed eating on the lanai and having access to beach chairs and beach equipment. Owners are very nice-- provided snacks and 1st morning items for breakfast so we did not have to rush out to a store. It is a quiet residential community, very relaxed. Would love to go back !!

Thanks to the wonderful owners, this house is definitely a home from home. It was stocked with everything and more that you could ever think inside of and outside there was a great supply of beach gear (chairs, snorkels, boogie boards) and a BBQ. The cottage itself was comfortable and clean and exactly as described, but it was the personal touches of the owners that exceeded all our expectations - such as a fridge full of staple foods, bread, milk, eggs, cheese (and fresh papaya!) and well stocked cupboards. In the bathroom - toiletries, extra sunscreen and even a first aid kit for emergencies. A folder at the cottage gave lots of information as to where to shop, nearby amenities and attractions. The pristine beach was a minute's walk away. It was one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen and never crowded even on the Memorial Day Weekend. We would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone and can't wait to return.

What a comfortable place to relax! The house is in the perfect spot to be used as a base camp - its near fun activities, yet right in the middle of the quiet town or Wiamanalo. The beach felt like it was our own private beach. The house is about seven houses back from the beach, very quick and easy walk to the beach. The house was full of all sorts of items . . . lots of clean sheets, towels and beach towels . . . boogie boards, kayaks, beach chairs, kitchen was stocked with cooking supplies to fix a quick meal . . . and even a few treats in the refrigerator :) We enjoyed staying in a quiet neighborhood so that we had a choice to visit the noiser parts of the island and know that we could come back to our base camp and enjoy a nice quiet evening listening to the wind blow through the palm trees. The pictures of the house accurately reflects the appearance and amenities. The house was property clean and well-maintained. The owners live next door and was very helpful and friendly. Yes, we highly recommend this property. Go eat at the yellow shrimp trucks!! Yummy!!
