Nice quiet, secluded, scenic, woodsy property. Hiking, biking, boating, rafting, and fine dining close by. Owners communicated very well; even replaced a battery quickly via trip to town. Cabin was clean and accurately described by pictures. Would highly recommend the rental to anyone.

Comments: My original comment from November 2007 read: We loved your chalet and plan to return again next year. It was very comfortable, private and had everything we needed. We spent most of our evenings outside by the fire. What more can you ask for...It was great! We have been back every year since then. We had reserved the chalet April, 2011 and a week before we were to arrive I received an phone call from the Dane informing us there was some unexpected damage to the chalet and we could not stay there. In the case like this, I thought we would have to make other arrangements ourselves. To my surprise, Dane offered to find another place nearby. He found a place, contacted me the next day, and our vacation was back on schedule. We plan to go back to Dane's chalet in October. It is comfortable, private, easy to find...the perfect place to vacation.

Very secluded and comfortable cabin. Easily reachable but out of the way location. Great homey cabin with laid back, relaxing feel. Lots of hiking, outdoor activities in the area, lots more in Gatlinburg or Asheville that would make a satisfying day trip. Grocery store just down the road and everything you need in the house. Had a great time! Thanks again!

Thanks Kelli & Dane for sharing your chalet. We had a great family vacation the week we were there and have some wonderful memories to look back on. It really is a cozy home in a peaceful setting and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. The location was fantastic for all we wanted to do. Secluded enough for privacy, but very convenient. We definitely enjoy the Robbinsville area and surrounding mountains. It's the quiet and peaceful part of the mountains and great for hiking, biking, fishing, scenery, etc. So much nature stuff to do within a short distance. We also enjoyed your fire pit and made good use of your "smores sticks". Always a great way to end a perfect day in the mountains after a nice barbeque back at the house! Look forward to returning in the future for another "peaceful getaway"!

We have stayed at this rental property twice now. We really enjoy the three levels, it allows privacy for us and allows our sons to each have their own space. Our greyhounds enjoyed laying in the living room and looking out the windows. We enjoyed sitting on the deck early in the morning and reading and reflecting while listening to the sounds of nature.

We enjoyed our stay at your cabin. The older kids enjoyed playing in the small creek across the road. Our 1-year old was happy to have the Pack-N-Play available. While there, we visited Cades Cove, the Joyce Kilmer Forest, and Fontana Dam. I took the older kids on a hike to Sassafras Falls in the Snowbird Backcountry, and we even found some time to fish at the pier on Santeetlah Lake. Only our Boston Terrier, RC, seemed to be unsure of the cabin -- I think he could tell that other pets had been there before him....

We really enjoyed staying in your Chalet! The privacy, quaintness, evening fires in the firepit, the proximity to places of interest, and oh, what it did to relieve the stress, will be well remembered. The value was exceptional, & we look forward to a second trip! Thank you!

Thanks,so much for letting us enjoy your chalet. We both had a great time and so did our Bassettes. The property was a great place to walk the dogs and explore.I had no idea how close fontana dam and the skyway drive along with everything else was. The follage was the most colorful I have seen in along time. Three days is not nearly long enough, Miss the deck and fire place already.Next year I will book earlier but hope to be back sooner. Dane , Thanks so much Hunter,Carol,Boo, and Savannah

We had a wonderful stay. The chalet was clean and comfortable and we loved being at the end of a dead end road. Our children enjoyed exploring the woods and we had a great time in the area. We hiked the AT and also hiked around the Cherohala Skyway. On our trip out we did the "Tail of the Dragon"-wouldn't recommend that for those who get carsick! thanks for a wonderful time.

We have just returned from our 7 day stay. It was truly WONDERFUL!!! The chalet is cozy, quiet, and secluded. We felt like we were sitting in our own little tree house. We went boating, hiking, rode the train in Bryson City, and just enjoyed the scenery. We will return again. Thanks again for a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay at your chalet! Everything is so nice and ready to move right in! The quiet solitude, the sound of the creek, the smell of the campfire, we had it all. We are envious of your hide-away. Thanks for checking on us too. Hope to see you in the Spring!

I was a little worried when I booked this place because it was so cheap. Everyone in my office was making jokes about what might be wrong with it. But it was great - very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the privacy. Even sitting out on the deck, you're not aware of anyone else around and the only noise is crickets and tree frogs. A great getaway - but close to everything we wanted to do - whitewater rafting, Fontana Dam & Lake, Joyce Kilmer, Great Smokies N.P. I would definitely stay here again.

GREAT!! Our family had a wonderful time. We relaxed in the peaceful wooded setting of the chalet and we visited the nearby attractions. It was the best of both worlds. We enjoyed a picnic at beautiful Fontana Dam. Nearby Bryson City offered a fun-filled day of white water rafting, hiking to waterfalls, blue grass music, shops and retaurants. We also enjoyed a day in Cherokee which ended that night at the outdoor drama "Unto These Hills". We were sad to leave and would love to visit again.

What a great and relaxing week we had in the cabin. My husband, 3 kids and my parents all stayed in the cabin together. There was plenty of room and it all felt so comfortable. The cabin was very accomodating and I can't tell you how relaxing the week was. We hiked, cooked out, roasted hotdogs over the fire in the fire pit and also made smores. We were so sad when the week was over. Dane's parents checked on us a couple of times during the week to make sure that all was well. They were so friendly and nice. We can't wait to go back.

We spent our 13th anniversary at the cabin and couldn't have ask for better, thank you so much for sharing with us. Enjoyed everything and didn't want to leave, even the dogs loved it! This is a letter left from one of our guests added with their permission... We would like thank ya'll for a fantastic time. We really enjoyed ourselves. We baked you some goodies. We cleaned up the house (scrubbed) so hopefully there will not be much to clean. We'll certainly be back again some time soon. We purchased the grill, but left it behind for the next people. It was also very considerate of Dane's dad to call and see if everything was OK (very nice). There's ice cream (unopened) in the freezer. Please take it because it would melt by the time we got home. Oh by the way, we got to see a bear that was by the fire pit. It was really neat. We'll email a picture of the bear for you. Thanks again, Jen, Misty and Chandler

David and I thoroughly enjoyed your little 3-story chalet in the woods. Very quiet and had all the equipment and comfort we needed for our 9th anniversary getaway. We cooked delicious meals there, took long walks and found the neighborhood dog very hospitable to our dog. We've recommended it to others and hope to return ourselves. The price is also what sold it to us.

We enjoyed the visit to the mountains. We were in awe of Lake Fontana and the views to be had just a short ride away. We celebrated my wife's birthday with a surprise party with family coming in from Tennessee and Georgia. We skied at Cataloochee Ski Resort and taught our 2 year old to ski. He loved it!! We all had a great time at the cabin without the TV on, playing games and building stuff with Lincoln Logs as a family. That's something we forget to do at times. IT is a great place to get away to.-------The Prathers

We had such a great time, even our dog didn't want to leave! We felt like part of the family. The cabin was cozy and secluded yet close to everything we wanted to do, Deal's Gap, Cherohala Skyway, and may other scenic highways. My only regret is that we didn't have enough time to see it all. We will certainly be back! Thank you for having us!!! Gail & Kenne

We visited this cabin in October, 2005. It is a perfect place for a secluded departure from the hustle and bustle of our everyday world. You can sit in the swing by the firepit and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Our stay at the cabin was quite comfortable and relaxing. We went to the "Singing On the Mountain" at Inspiration Park. We also visited Fontana Village and the Fontana Dam. The history of how and why it was constructed is quite interesting. The views from the mountains are breathtaking. We enjoyed the scenic drive on the mountain roads.
