We spent a week at this house in Princeville, everything was perfect. The house had plenty of room for the 10 of us, the kitchen was right on, three of the bed rooms were like master suites and the bunkbed room was perfect.. The stuff left buy others came in handy, some beach chairs, coolers, water socks and some toys to play on the beach. The only thing I wish the house had was a shop vac so a could have cleaned all the fun out of the rental car....... Would stay here again for sure thanks.. ... Would stay here again no questions asked...

This was our second stay at this property and we could not have been happier. This is a beautiful home with everything you need to have an absolute great time in Kauai. The owners are great to work with and the location is perfect for a large family, multiple families or couples. We definitely recommend it!!!!

My wife and I took our 3 children and 2 grandchildren to Kauai for a vacation. All in all, we had a wonderful time and having the Hale was the biggest hit of the entire week. We were very comfortable and felt as though we were "at home". It sure was a luxury to be able to sleep, eat and enjoy the ambiance of Kauai in such great surroundings. I would highly recommend this Hale for anyone who is looking for something besides a hotel room.

We stayed here for our wedding. We had many family members and need a large home. This home was great! It has everything you could possibly need for your stay. The owners were wonderful and accommodating to all our needs. Any questions or concerns were answered immediately. We can't wait to come stay here again. Thank you for your beautiful home!

My wife, two daughters and their husbands took our first family vacation together and stayed at this beautiful property. The pictures don't do proper justice to the elegance the home possesses. Each couple had what can only be described as a Master Bedroom, all spacious and tastefully decorated. We cooked in the elegant kitchen and grilled on the patio. No detail has been overlooked in this home. Yet, you will still feel comfortable and relaxed. The neighborhood and location on the north side of Kauai was perfect for us. There were so many sights to see and things to do and the beaches were lovely. Without a doubt we will be returning to Kauai and without a doubt we will be returning to this home. We had an amazing time. Thanks Jon & Marcie for opening your home to us.

Our stay in Princeville was so nice, in part because of this great home. It was beautiful, inside and out, and very comfortable for all three couples. Many of the places we stayed had one really nice bedroom and two that were not as great for one reason or another, but in this house, every bedroom had its own special features. Everything was top-notch, from the giant barbecue grill to the extremely beautiful interior. Our favorite place was the upstairs balcony looking towards the mountain - we spent hours there just enjoying the view and the weather. There's a wonderful kitchen so you can do your own cooking, but plenty of nearby restaurants as well. The owners were very easy to work with and provide lots of helpful hints about where to go, and what to do. While not right on a beach, it is just a short walk down the street to a very neat swimming hole (Queen's bath), and beautiful Hanalei beach is only a couple of miles away. The St. Regis is also a 5 minute drive, but we never even made it there. Our friends did and recommended the ginger margaritas at sunset. This house also has quick access to the nearby golf courses, which are great for strolling, even if you are not a golfer. I would highly recommend staying here to anybody looking for a comfortable, clean, and quiet place to stay, especially for couples or families traveling together. It might not be the best for small children, but only because of the stairs and the very nicely appointed interior. For anybody else, it's a winner!

The owners could not have been more helpful and informative. We truly felt that they wanted to make sure our two week stay was both comfortable and memorable. This home was exactly what we were hoping for and turned out to be our home away from home for two weeks in paradise. The house was very clean, well stocked, and very well maintained. The views from this home and surrounding area are stunning. The north truly is the nicest area on the island. Our family would recommend hitting all of the great beaches in the north, ziplining at Princeville Ranch, an ocean tour of the Napali coast with Napali Sea Breeze, surf lessons with Titus Kinimaka, checking out the Queen's Bath (very close to the house) and shopping in the quaint little town of Hanalei. We would definitely recommend this home to friends or family. Thank-you so much John for sharing your beautiful home with us for our family holiday. The memories will last a lifetime.

We had sort of a family reunion at this house...my wife, daughter and myself and 4 other relatives all visited Kauai and stayed here. The house is beautiful, and the neighborhood is fantastic. For a group of people, there's no way a hotel can compete...it's a luxury home, you can cook your own meals, hike down to queen's bath, drive to one of several beaches nearby (Anini, Ke'e, Hanalei bay, etc). It's on the North side of the island, so you have to do some driving to get to attractions on the south side (Wimea Canyon, poi'pu, etc.) but we didn't find that to be a problem...even if you're driving, you're still driving on an ISLAND PARADISE! Everything in the home is up to date, well maintained, and top of the line, from the tropical hardwood floors to the counter tops, etc. Bedrooms are elegant and comfortable, and yard is lovely. Definitely recommend.

Our four-generation family of 7 adults and one baby vacationed here from 12/23/10 to 12/30/10 and had a wonderful and memorable time. Hale Pakele is much more than the pictures show and much more than a "vacation rental". We were overwhelmed upon entering this beautifully appointed, well designed, and comfortable home. The owners thought of everything and were very helpful and available throughout the reservation and arrival process. They were also very helpful coordinating with the concierge service we hired to stock the pantry/refrigerator upon arrival. The kitchen is fabulous and well equipped and all of the lanais are special treats to enjoy-which we did daily. And there’s beach equipment galore and bikes to cruise around the area! We loved the location-convenient to shopping and beautiful sights such as Queen’s Bath and Hanalei Bay. Hale Pakele was perfect for our family and we're so happy to have found it. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend it!!

This was our first time renting a home, for a family gathering. We celebrated our 50th anniversary. I made all the arrangement, and being new to the computer world, I was a bit nervous about what we might find. Your house just took our breath away. Everything was spotless, and beyond words on the things you provided. We could not think of one thing missing. Your kitchen is so well equipped, and the bar-b que was fantastic. We had a beautiful week of weather, so could not have asked for more. I think our favorite thing was enjoying the evenings on the beautiful lanai. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Donna

We stayed at this house from 2/13/09 to 2/18/09. It is a very well maintained house in a very pleasant community. The house is 2800 sf. It is a luxury house in the northern California standard! We have 10 people from 4 families stayed in this house for a wedding events. The house is big enough to accommodate our different needs. It is not a typical vacation rental you would imagine. It is more like a luxury HOME where it's got all the amenity and supplies you can think of. It even has a printer with papers in the office corner. Both the owner and the contact agent are very responsive. I would stay again at this house in my next trip to Kauai.

The house was absolutely fantastic. When we saw it that first day, we were blown away and how great it was. By the end of our stay, we felt like we had been staying in a home rather than just a rental (there is a big difference). From the outside BBQ and patio's to the comfy bedrooms, and including the dream kitchen, this house just kept us smiling at how great it was. The owner and contact person were great. They kept us informed throughout, and even provided us with a travel book of Kauai (an unexpected bonus which we used to good advantage). During our stay, I had to contact the owner regarding the fridge and he was quick to respond and able to satisfy my questions on the spot. This was the best vacation of my life, and this rental home was a huge part in it's success. There is really only one more thing I can say about this house... ....it is full of ALOHA!

The owners description regarding the location, layout, amenities were accurate and was very honest and professional throughout the whole process. The property was very clean and exceptionally well maintained. The owner provided excellent customer service and was very accomodating, we could not have been more pleased with the experience. We were originally very skeptical initially as this was our 1st vacation rental experience, but were extremely happy with the accomodation and experience with the owner throughout the rental process. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends when staying in Kauai. This house was so close to Queen's bath (5 minute walk) as well as lookout points where you can spot green sea turtles. We loved it! Thanks John for provided us with bikes, boogie boards, etc. It made our stay even better!

I had the privelege of staying at this beautiful home 3/4-3/11 of 2008. My father inlaw rented it for 11 of us. It was nearly brand new, well taken care of and had all the amenities of home. We cooked several meals in the kitchen and there wasn't anything we needed, as it was all there (aside from the food). The King room bed was super comfortable and to our surprise there was a brand new pack and play our 2 year old was able to use (however she figured out how to crawl out of it during our stay). The lanai's were gorgeous, lawns and flowers beautiful and having DSL was a handy feature as well. We tried to use some boogie boards but most were broken...we were a little discouraged by that, but honestly that's the only thing I can think of that was not right. It is very close to shopping and beaches. Queen's Bath is a short hike away and neoghbors were friendly as well. We would definitely stay here again.
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words. One quick note on the boogie boards. We don't provide them! Any boogie boards or snorkel equipment that is at the house is donated (left behind) by previous guests. We're glad you used good judgment in this case and had a safe trip. Mahalo, John
